1. Crop your base to 100 x 100.

2. Duplicate your base and set to Screen 100% Opacity and Fill. Do this twice at least.

Depending on the quality of your image, you may need to do this more than twice, I only did it twice.

3. Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Selective Colour.

Reds

M +18

Y +50

Fourth Point

5. Type your text, i used Century Gothic and then hold the full stop button for a little while to get a couple of those lines!

It works most effective when the lines begin to get shorter as they go down.

(i didn't use this text and line effect on every avatar i did with this colouring.)

That’s it! You’re done! :)

^^ Brill tut, and your results look FABULOUS.

Unfortunatley, due to my stupid headness, my colouring doesn't come out quite the same..

Heaps of people have been asking for one, so here it is. I'm not going to do it very detailed, but if you're stuck, just say.

(the images were a bit rushed)

Original:

After I colored it:

sarahstage26sd.jpg

You can still do the same with a colored picture (as the original).

Ok, get a circle brush, make a new layer, and pick what part you're wanting to color at the moment. Say you're wanting to color the dress, so I pick a purpley color, and on the new layer went over the dress. Set the layer to "Color". Make another new layer, and I picked a peachy color for her skin, so I went over her skin with the brush, and set it to "color". Just keep doing this until you're done.

Now mines a bit shabby and it took me ages to work it out but heres my versions: sarah.jpgsarah2.jpg

Marie: All i basically meant was you see on this screencap there are four points, i gave the inputs/outputs of all of the points and if you want when you are trying it out again you can try and set up your curves so they look like the above screencap then you should get the same kind of colouring. :)
