STEP 1

Take your picture and crop it to how you want it so Here is mine!

STEP 2

Now go to (Image>adjustments>Shadow/highlights) and tk the shadow bar up to how you want it, I done mine right up to 100% so it now Looks like this!

STEP 3

The go to (Image>adjustments>Photo Filter) and click your drop down box to cooling filter (80) and do that twice so now mine looks Like this!

STEP 4

Duplicate your picture (ctrl+j) and then make sure its at the top of you nav screen above all of your current layers and put that on screen at 100% so it now looks like this

STEP 5

Now go to (Layer>New fill layer>Solid colour) and lighten it at 100% and fill it with this colour #fea100 so now it should look something like this

STEP 6

Ok now duplicate your orange layer but darken it at 30% so now mine looks something like this

STEP 7

Ok now go back down to your first picture and duplicate it (ctrl+j) and drag it up over all the other layers and then you are going to darken it to 50% so now mine looks like this

STEP 8

Ok now go to (Layer>New fill layer>solid colour) and overlay this at 60% and fill it with this colour #12b2ef

Now this is how mine looks

STEP 9

Now you are going to take this texture

texture_beginning-1.jpg

and you are going to overlay it at 70% and this is how mine looks now!

STEP 10

Now again go to (layer>new fill colour>solid colour) and put tit on soft light at 100% and fill it with the colour #a300ef and this is how mine has turned out

STEP 11

Now add this texture

texture2.png

and put it on soft light at 50% Here's mine

STEP 12

Now take this texture

texture3.png

and lighten it to 50% mine now

STEP 13

not much more to go I promise

Now take this texture

texture1-1.png

and lighten it to 100% and move it down to where you want it here's mine

STEP 14

Now taking the same texture from step 13 you are now going to flip it so go to (Image>Rotate canvas>Flip canvas vertical) and now it should be upside down.

Now you are going to paste it and darken it to 50% and move it down to the bottom until ONLY the stripes are showing at the bottom of your icon like this

STEP 15

Now you are going to go back down your layer canvas's until you reach the purple layer. Duplicate it and drag it to the TOP of all your layers and soften it to 30% so it looks like this

STEP 16: FINAL STEP

Ok now all you have to do is add your text if you want text of course and you are done!

it looks great Luc, I dont think you did anything wrong, the way the colour turns out also depends on the colour of the background of the picture you choose but I like it . . . Very mise :)
