Chapter 14

“Hey guys, how was the holiday?” Cassie asks, as Lucas opens the door to her and Ric the next morning.

“Great thanks, these guys loved it didn’t you?” Lucas says pointing to where Chloe, Dylan and Katie sat on the floor playing with their toys, as Cassie and Ric enter.

“Yeah, it was great, we got to see Mickey and Minnie” Chloe says, happily.

“That’s good isn’t it? You going to show Uncle Ric what you’ve brought” Ric says, sitting down beside the three of them as Cassie walks over to me where I’m stood in the kitchen.

“So how was it then, just what you needed?” she asks me as I hand her a coffee.

“Yeah it was. It did me wonders. It was good to get away with the kids, and Mum and Dad had the kids a few times so that me and Lucas could get some quality time alone together without having to worry about interruptions, which was amazing” I say, sighing, as I think back.

“Sounds like it was just what you two needed” she says smiling at me as we sit down at the kitchen table.

“Oh it was trust me. The things he can do for me Cassie I swear, I will never ever grow tired of him” I say smiling widely at the thought of my husband.

“It’s the same with Ric” Cassie says, grinning.

“Anyways, how are things with you and Ric?” I ask her.

“Well we have some news that we wanted to tell you both, actually” she says softly. “Lucas, Ric, come here please” she says.

“Yeah” Lucas says walking into the kitchen and standing behind me as Ric stands beside Cassie.

“Well me and Cassie have got some news that we want to share with you” Ric says.

“Oh my god” I say clasping my hand over my mouth. “Are you?” I add looking at Cassie. She nods at me. “Oh my god guys congratulations how far along are you?” I say jumping up from my seat and rushing to the other side of the table to hug Cassie.

“Congratulations man” Lucas tells Ric, high fiving him.

“I’m four months gone, it’s just amazing to think that I have something growing inside of me, and I’m so glad that you’re ok with this Mattie after everything that happened” Cassie said hugging me softly.

“Oh Cassie of course I’m happy for you. Guys you deserve it and I’ve worked through it now. Cassie, I’m just so happy for you both” I say smiling as I pull away from her.
