Chapter 16

“Maybe you shouldn’t go to work if you’re not feeling well, babe” Lucas says to me a few weeks later as he rubs my back as I’m sick once more in the bathroom.

“It should pass though. I mean I’ve been like this for the past few days and it’ll pass soon enough” I say, stopping as I say the last word. “Oh my god Luc, I could be pregnant” I say a smile creeping onto my face.

“Come to think of it, you have been tired a lot this last week maybe we should get a test” Lucas tells me as he helps me up.

“Maybe we should. I’ll meet you on my lunch break, OK? We can go and get a test to do then, and I'll take it tonight” I say, smiling. I really hope that we are right with this one, but I really do just have the feeling that I am pregnant, I just know it.

“Mum, come on we got to get to school” Katie shouts from the bottom of the stairs.

“Coming!” I shout down to her as me and Lucas walk out of the bathroom. “Besides you need to get to work as well” I say, looking at my husband.

“That’s the joy of being your own boss, it doesn’t matter what time you go into the office” he says, smiling widely.

“Lucky for some” I reply, smiling before kissing him softly before I know it the kiss gets deeper and Lucas is pushing me back against the wall.

“Mum!” I hear the kids yell again. I laugh against Lucas lips before pulling away from him.

“We've really got to teach those kids about timing” he whispers softly to me as we make our way downstairs.

“You want to go take the test babe?” Lucas whispers in my ear as we watch the kids playing outside from the kitchen window.

“Yeah, that sounds like a good idea to me, especially while we have a minute of peace and quiet for once” I say as I grab my bag and take Lucas hand, making my way upstairs.

“I’ll wait out here while you go and do your business” Lucas says.

“Yeah nice way to put it” I laugh as I make my way into the bathroom, shutting the door behind me.

“Done it?” he asks me as I open the door.

“Yeah. Now we just got to wait five minutes” I say, walking out of the bathroom with the test in my hand. We walk into the bedroom, placing it down on the dresser. Lucas sits down on the bed, pulling me into his lap, wrapping his arm around me.

“Mum, Dad!” I hear Dylan scream from downstairs.

“What’s wrong?” I ask, jumping up and heading to the landing. I look down and see tears in his eyes. We run down the stairs as fast as we can.

“What’s wrong son?” Lucas asks, picking Dylan up in his arms.

“Chloe fell off the swing” he cries, burying his head on Lucas shoulder.

“Oh my god!” I scream, running outside, Lucas hot on my tail. “Chloe baby, Mummy’s here now” I cry, making my way towards her, her little screams breaking my heart as Katie cries beside her. I kneel down beside her, the sight before me making me feel sick, the bone in her arm is sticking out and bleeding badly.

“Lucas, I think its broken, we got to get her to hospital here give me Dylan” I cry tears running down my face, he hands me Dylan and gently takes Chloe in his arms.

“It hurts Daddy” she cries softly.

“I know baby, but Mummy and Daddy are here now” he says as he starts to carry her back into the house, picking up a cloth to wrap around her arm to stop the bleeding.

“Is she going to be OK?” Katie asks me, crying.

“Yeah she’ll be fine princess” I say softly as I hold onto hers and Dylan’s hands tightly as we make our way out to the car.

Thanks Penny next chapter should be up tommorow maybe in a bit but Im exhausted and am more than likely going to call it a night get into bed and drool over Johnny Depp and Orlando in pirates.

Yay, more fluffiness to begin with... but poor Chloe. I hope shes okay, although I'm sure she'll be bragging about the cast in no time, especially to her jealous siblings... LoL. And now the test will be sitting there, waiting for Mattie and Luke when they remember it... I wonder whether it will be good news... or bad...

Can't wait for more!
