EPISODE THIRTEEN: Another Random Day Of “Pain and Suffering”

THE CARAVAN PARK-A RANDOM CARAVAN

[Lucas is walking towards a caravan, he walks inside one. Drew is waiting on the bed]

DREW: Hey. [Drew smiles, Lucas doesn’t look happy] What’s up?

LUCAS: I don’t know… I’m having doubts.

DREW: Doubts? About us?

LUCAS: About everything. The situation about us, Matilda. Everything is just getting to me.

DREW: You… You still love Matilda?

LUCAS: I don’t know. I don’t know. [Drew looks disappointed] I still have feelings for her though.

DREW: This whole time?

LUCAS: What do you mean?

DREW: The whole time you were with me you still had feelings for your ex?

LUCAS: When we were together you were still going out with Belle!

DREW: That was just some mucking around, nothing serious!

LUCAS: Yeah, well that’s what this is! [Drew looks shocked]

DREW: What?

LUCAS: This was never serious Drew, it was only mucking around! Experimenting. Call it what you want.

DREW: I wouldn’t call our relationship experimenting! Lucas, I love you!

LUCAS: Well… I better get ready for it all then. [Lucas tries to smile, he walks out. Drew walks up to the door and slams it shut, he screams]

THE HOSPITAL-ROBBIE’S ROOM-WAITING ROOM

[Robbie is lying on his bed. Beth, Kit and Matilda are there]

ROBBIE: I don’t understand! How can this happen!?

BETH: Dr. Green said there was a risk about this happening.

ROBBIE: About what happening?

BETH: That there could be a chance of memory loss.

ROBBIE: I haven’t lost my memory! You people are just playing a sick game!

KIT: Robbie, that’s crazy.

ROBBIE: No, you know what’s crazy. Telling me that dad is dead. That Scott is overseas, that I’m married with a baby! I think I would remember all that happening!

BETH: Robbie, you have to understand that what happened was an accident. A lot has changed… Besides your father hitting you, what was the last thing you remember?

ROBBIE: Coming home the day before from boarding school for the summer break.

BETH: And do you remember what year that was?

ROBBIE: Two thousand and one. [beth looks shocked and looks at the girls]

MATILDA: And you don’t remember anything between now and then?

ROBBIE: No… What year is it now? [The girls have facial expressions that they don’t want to answer] What year is it now I said!?

BETH: Two thousand and six. [Robbie looks completely shocked]

ROBBIE: What!? [He’s about to cry, Beth hugs him]

BETH: I know. I know sweetie. It’s a lot to take in-

ROBBIE: That’s five years of my life gone!

BETH: I know, but your memory could come back. There’s always a chance that it can come back. [Robbie closes his eyes and just lays there] You’re going to get better Robbie!

ROBBIE: I said just go! All of you! [Matilda, Kit and Beth just stand there] Go! [slowly they walk out. Robbie begins to cry. Beth hugs Tony whose standing outside. Belle and Kirsty are also there]

TONY: Hey it will be alright. [beth begins to cry]

BETH: He’s lost five years of his life Tony! [Kirsty looks shocked]

KIRSTY: Five years? [beth hugs Kirsty]

BETH: He’ll get better though. He’s tough.

BELLE: Can we see him? [beth shakes his head]

BETH: Why? When he won’t even remember you. [beth laughs trying to get out of reality. Jack comes running in]

JACK: How is he? [They all just look at Jack]

THE SUMMER BAY HOUSE-LIVING AREA-OUTSIDE

[Pippa is on the phone, Ric is making himself lunch]

PIPPA: Oh that’s so good honey! I can’t wait! [Cassie walks in]

CASSIE: Who is she talking to?

RIC: I dunno.

CASSIE: Ric, we may not be going out anymore, but it doesn’t mean you have to talk to me like a stranger!

RIC: Cassie, I don’t know who she’s talking too! Seriously!

PIPPA: I’ll see you tonight then. Ok. Bye sweetie. [Pippa hangs up, Cassie smiles]

CASSIE: Whose coming tonight?

PIPPA: Chris. He’s booked a flight to come here for the wedding.

CASSIE: Oh, that’s fantastic! Has anyone seen Sally? [ian walks down the stairs and listens]

RIC: She’s outside hanging the washing. [ian smiles] Chris? He’s you’re son right?

PIPPA: Yeah. [Pippa smiles, Ian walks in] Ian! Chris is coming for the wedding.

IAN: That’s nice. [ian continues to walk out the door, Pippa looks disappointed]

PIPPA: Ok then, bye. [Pippa laughs] Is it me or he’s been funny the past couple of days?

RIC: Um… It must be you. [Ric smiles, Pippa laughs. Drew walks in looking angry] Hey man. [Drew keeps walking up the stairs, he slams the door, you can hear him scream from upstairs]

PIPPA: Girl problems? [Ric and Cassie laugh]

[ian hides behind a tree and watches Sally put the clothes on the line, he smiles]

AMANDA’S MANSION-LOUNGEROOM-KITCHEN

[Ryan is playing his x-box, Macca walks in and changes the channel]

RYAN: Hey, I was playing the x-box!

MACCA: Well yeah? You can play it another time. [Ryan just looks at him] Go! [Ryan runs off into the kitchen and bumps into Amanda]

AMANDA: Ryan honey, slow down!

RYAN: How come he’s living here now?

AMANDA: Who Macca?

RYAN: How come the gardener ids living in our house?

AMANDA: Um, because he lost his house in a fire and he just needs somewhere to live until he finds a new one. [Amanda smiles trying to convince Ryan]

RYAN: But I don’t like him! He’s mean.

AMANDA: Why what did he do to you?

RYAN: I was playing the x-box and he took the remote off me and changed the channel.

AMANDA: Well I’ll go talk to him. Why don’t you go upstairs and watch a DVD?

RYAN: Fine. [Ryan runs up the stairs, Amanda walks in not looking happy]

AMANDA: Moving into my house is one thing Macca, taking over my sons life is another…

MACCA: The only person’s life I’m out to destroy Amanda is yours. [Macca turns around and smiles]

AMANDA: Why?

MACCA: Because, you have the lot. Money, a nice house, nice… [Macca smiles and winks at Amanda]

AMANDA: You are so sad, you know that?

MACCA: No… I think you will be more sad then me.

AMANDA: Why would you think that?

MACCA: Well come on, think. You have done more crazy things to get your way then I have. Things that are so farfetched it makes yourself look like a daytime soap character. [Amanda doesn’t know what to say]

AMANDA: I’m going to take Ryan to Dan’s. He can stay there for awhile.

MACCA: Good, get rid of the little rat bag. [Amanda shakes her head and goes to walk up the stairs] Do you really think I’m a fool Amanda?

AMANDA: What?

MACCA: You going to your ex-husbands place and beg him to save you from me? How stupid do you think I am? You’re not going anywhere. And neither is Ryan.

AMANDA: You can’t stop me to leave my own home.

MACCA: Oh, I can!

AMANDA: So what? You’re going to leave me a prisonor in my own home?

MACCA: If that’s the way you would like to put it. [Macca smiles]

AMANDA: This is crazy! You’re crazy! [Amanda goes to walk out the door. Macca jumps off the lounge and grabs onto her]

MACCA: I’m not letting you go that easy Amanda. If you want to leave, then go. [Amanda shakes her head and moves up the stairs but he pulls her back down] But, it’s going to cost you.

AMANDA: Cost me what?

MACCA: Well why would you take Ryan to Dan’s?

AMANDA: Because Dan is his father! [Macca smiles and laughs then shakes his head] Oh! You wouldn’t!

MACCA: If you want to keep that secret in the bag Amanda, you’re not leaving this place! Do you understand me? [Amanda looks upset and doesn’t know what to do]

THE HOSPITAL-WAITING ROOM

[Everyone is standing in a group]

JACK: How much of his memory has he lost?

BETH: About five years.

JACK: Oh gez! [Jack’s phone rings] Hang on a sec. Hello? [PAUSE] Martha… Hey. Can you hang on a second? [Jack covers the phone] Does she know?

KIT: Um, we haven’t told her.

BELLE: Neither have we.

JACK: Does she know about Tasha? [belle shakes her head] Martha… Can you come to the hospital? It’s pretty urgent. [sounding serious]

THE SUMMER BAY HOUSE-OUTSIDE-RIC & DREW’S ROOM

[sally is still hanging the clothes on the line. Ian walks up to her]

IAN: Hey Sally!

SALLY: Ian, hi.

IAN: Would you like some help?

SALLY: Um, that would be good. Thanks. [They both smile, Ian helps her put the clothes on]

IAN: Excited about the wedding tomorrow?

SALLY: Yeah, I can’t wait! It’s all going to be exciting.

IAN: Exciting? Yeah. [He smiles] Pippa and I were actually thinking of moving back to the bay permanently.

SALLY: Really!?

IAN: Yeah. It would be nice to be closer to you and the others if you know what I mean. [He smiles]

SALLY: Yeah…

[Ric walks into his room. Drew is sitting on the bed]

RIC: Mate, is everything ok?

DREW: Everything is just great Ric!

RIC: What happened? Do you want to talk about it?

DREW: Nope.

RIC: Um, ok then… [Ric just looks at Drew] How do you feel about sharing a bed with a bloke?

DREW: Sorry? [Ric laughs]

RIC: Pippa’s son Chris is coming for the wedding, he needs a bed so I’ll have to bunk with you. I don’t think you would want to be sleeping with a gay man if you know what I mean. [Ric winks]

DREW: Chris? He’s gay?

RIC: Yeah. But I’m sure he’s cool… So we’ll bunk up for the next few days then?

DREW: Sleep with you? [Drew laughs] I rather share a bed with a gay man then you. [Ric laughs and throws a pillow at Drew]

THE HOSPITAL-WAITING ROOM-ROBBIE’S ROOM

[Martha comes running in]

MARTHA: Is he ok?

TONY: Yeah, yeah. He’s all good. Beth’s with him right now.

MARTHA: I can’t believe this. What’s happening with Tasha? [Talking to Jack]

JACK: We have officers out there looking for her. All we can do now is hope.

MARTHA: How can this happen? Wasn’t there any warning? Any signs?

BELLE: Yeah, we knew they were coming.

MARTHA: And you didn’t do anything about it?

BELLE: Well there was nothing we could do. Jack told us not to call the police.

MARTHA: What!? Why?

JACK: Because we were hoping to catch Mamma Rose, and that wouldn’t of worked if Irene’s was surrounded by cops!

MARTHA: But she still managed to come to Irene’s didn’t she?

JACK: Martha, we have people searching for Tasha. Everything should be ok!

MARTHA: What if it’s not?

BELLE: It wont be ok.

TONY: Belle, that’s crazy! Everything will be ok!

BELLE: No, no it wont. She’s here!

TONY: Jack said they have people looking for Mamma Rose, it will be ok.

BELLE: Not her…

KIT: Belle… [Kit gives her a facial look not to say anything]

ROBBIE: What do you mean?

BETH: I should go see what’s happening outside. [beth gets up]

ROBBIE: So what happened to her again? Tasha and the baby?

BETH: They were kidnapped…

THE HUNTER HOUSE-LIVNG AREA

[Lucas is watching T.V, Matilda walks in]

LUCAS: Hey… Where is everyone?

MATILDA: The hospital.

LUCAS: Oh that’s right… How’s Robbie? [Matilda doesn’t say anything] He is alright isn’t he? [Matilda begins to cry, Lucas hugs her] Hey… What happened?

MATILDA: He doesn’t remember anything.

LUCAS: What do you mean?

MATILDA: He’s lost his memory… Well the past five years anyway… He thought our dad was still alive!

LUCAS: What?

MATILDA: He doesn’t know who Tasha is… He thinks it’s two thousand and one! [Lucas looks shocked]

LUCAS: Matilda… I’m so sorry. [They hugs again]

MATILDA: No… I’m sorry. The stuff I said about you and Drew… I shouldn’t of said that, it was so stupid.

LUCAS: No, it’s ok. I knew where you were coming from… But that’s over now.

MATILDA: What? You and Drew?

LUCAS: Yeah. [Matilda smiles]

THE HOSPITAL-A RANDOM ROOM

[Jack, Kit, Belle and Kirsty are standing in there]

JACK: So what’s so important that the others can’t know?

KIT: Zoe’s alive Jack.

JACK: What?

BELLE: Zoe is a-

JACK: No I heard you the first time, I just meant how can this happen? She was dead, we saw her lying there dead. At my own wedding! Dead!

KIRSTY: At your wedding?

KIT: Yeah at Jack and Martha’s wedding, Zoe blew it up.

KIRSTY: You’re joking?

BELLE: You shouldn’t be surprised at that, you’ve lived here longer then us to see bad luck run through the town. [belle chuckles]

KIRSTY: Nothing like that though-

JACK: How do you know she’s alive?

BELLE: She was standing on our front lawn Jack!

JACK: What? How?

KIT: Jack… How hard can it be for someone to stand on someone’s front lawn? [Jack shakes his head]

JACK: When was this?

KIRSTY: Last night.

JACK: Last night when Tasha was kidnapped? [Kit rolls her eyes]

KIRSTY: Yeah. But what Belle and I found funny was that Zoe was talking to Tasha’s kidnappers, it was if she didn’t care about being caught.

JACK: Zoe and Mamma Rose were having a talk? [Jack laughs] What the hell could they have in common?

BELLE: I guess that’s something you have to figure out.

AMANDA’S MANSION-LOUNGEROOM-AMANDA’S ROOM

[Macca is watching the T.V, the doorbell rings. Ryan comes running down the stairs to go towards the door]

MACCA: Hey, hey! Don’t open that door! [Ryan just stands there, Macca opens the door, it’s Dan] Dan!?

RYAN: Dad!

DAN: Hey buddy. How are you? Macca… What are you doing here?

MACCA: Urgh-

RYAN: He lives here now because his house burnt down.

DAN: Did it now? Is that what your mother said?

RYAN: Yes.

DAN: Where is she?

RYAN: In her room. [Dan shakes his head, he walks upstairs]

MACCA: Hey, where are you going?

DAN: Upstairs to see Amanda.

MACCA: Oh, yeah. Of course. Sorry. [Macca tries to avoid the situation and goes back to the lounge]

AMANDA: Macca, please. I’m not in the mood. [Dan walks in]

DAN: In the mood for what? [sounding suspicous] Macca’s house never burnt down, did it? [Amanda says nothing] Oh you make me sick Amanda!

AMANDA: Dan, whatever you’re thinking, it’s not true.

DAN: How do you know what I’m thinking?

AMANDA: By the look on your face! Dan, I’m in trouble… Serious trouble. [Macca walks in]

MACCA: Is everything ok?

AMANDA: Yeah… Dan just came to pick up Ryan.

MACCA: Oh… Ok then. [Dan stares back at Amanda]

DAN: I’ll call you. We need to have a serious talk! [Dan walks out]

MACCA: What the hell was he doing here!?

AMANDA: He came to pick up Ryan.

MACCA: You were going to tell him, weren’t you? [Amanda says nothing] You just wait until Dan leaves. [Macca storms out of the room and slams the door]

SUMMER BAY HOUSE-LIVING ROOM

[sally is cooking dinner. Drew, Ric, Cassie and Ian are watching T.V. Pippa comes down the stairs]

PIPPA: Well I should be back from the airport by nine. Now will you kids behave by yourself? [sally laughs]

SALLY: Shouldn’t I be asking that?

CASSIE: Is Chris coming from the airport tonight?

PIPPA: Yeah. [Pippa smiles]

CASSIE: Do you mind if I come with you?

DREW: Can we all go?

PIPPA: If you want too. [Pippa says laughing]

DREW: Great! [Drew races upstairs and then Cassie]

PIPPA: Ric, Ian? Do you want to come as well?

RIC: Um, yeah. There’s nothing on T.V tonight. So why not?

IAN: Nah, I’ll just stay here. Sally needs some company. [ian laughs, Ric just stares at him]

PIPPA: Fair enough… I’ll be in the car kids! [screaming to Drew and Cassie. Ric walks over to Sally, Pippa walks out]

RIC: Sally… What time is granddad coming home?

SALLY: Late. He’s pretty busy at the moment. [Ric just stares at her] Why, is something wrong?

RIC: Just… Just be careful.

SALLY: What are you talking about?

RIC: I may be completely wrong about this. But just watch your back if you’re going to be home alone.

SALLY: Ric, I’m going to have Ian with me. Everything is going to be ok. [sally smiles and continues to make dinner. Ric looks over to the lounge and watches Ian]

THE POLICE STATION-MAIN AREA

[Jack walks in]

JACK: Fitzy, we need to talk. [Jack takes her into the interview room]

FITZY: What’s wrong?

JACK: Zoe’s alive.

FITZY: What!?

JACK: She’s alive and she’s in the bay!

FITZY: How? Did you see her?

JACK: No, Kit and Belle saw her. Belle told me that Zoe was outside Irene’s while the kidnapping was happening.

FITZY: When Tasha was kidnapped? Is there a connection between the two?

JACK: I don’t know. But we need to do some background check on both of them.

FITZY: Jack… What are we going to do? We saw what Zoe could do last time…

JACK: Well let’s hope we catch her before anything happens… For Peter. [Fitzy smiles]

AMANDA’S MANSION-LOUNGE ROOM

[You can hear noises from the kitchen, banging etc. In the living room you see Macca throw a punch]

MACCA: I warned you not to tell anyone! [Amanda is shocked to the core, she’s crying]

AMANDA: I didn’t tell him I swear!

MACCA: You were going to though!

AMANDA: Macca! Please! Why are you doing this!?

MACCA: Because I need a kick start to rebuild my life… And you’re the roots in that plan.

AMANDA: But it doesn’t have to happen this way. [Macca sits next to Amanda]

MACCA: You’re right… I’m sorry… [Macca wipes Amanda’s tears away] You know, a lot of people say, girls are the happiest the most, the day they get married. [Amanda gives him a weird look] And I want to give you that happiness.

AMANDA: What?

MACCA: We’re going to get married… Tomorrow. [Macca smiles, Amanda doesn’t look happy]

SUMMER BAY HOUSE-LIVING AREA

[sally is still cooking dinner, Ian walks up to her]

IAN: It smells good.

SALLY: Thanks. [sally smiles. Ian goes to test it and leans over Sally] Um, Ian. [sally tries to move away, but Ian moves with her] Ian… What are you doing? [Trying to make the situation a joke]

IAN: I’m sorry… Do you feel uncomfortable?

SALLY: No, it’s just-

IAN: Good. What about this. [He grabs her and begins to move his hands up and down her body]

SALLY: Ian! Ian, what are you doing!

IAN: Just trying to have a bit of fun Sally! [ian begins to kiss her neck, Sally can’t move because of his grip]

SALLY: Ian, I’m serious! Get off me! [sally is freed from his grip, but Ian grabs back onto her] Let me go! [ian just stares at her]

IAN: Come on… [He drags her towards the stairs]

SALLY: Ian, where are you taking me.

IAN: Upstairs… Come on. [sally is trying to stay back]

SALLY: No! Let me go! [ian gives Sally a huge tug, she’s right next to him]

IAN: I’m not letting you go until I’ve finished what I came for.

SALLY: What? [They just stare at each other. He begins to pull her up again]

IAN: Come on!

SALLY: Help!

IAN: Shut up!

SALLY: Help somebody!

THE POLICE STATION-A RANDOM ROOM

[Jack is doing something on the computer, Fitzy walks in]
