Thats true as I have a friend who has been diagnosided with Depression and she is fine most of the time. People wont want to walk around like that and draw attention to themselves.

Rachel with they way she is going would probably think about it, but, she wont do it.

They should introduce a chacter with depression soon, that would be a good storyline plus it would tell people more about the diease.

But thats only my oppinon

What's happening with Rachel at the moment in the UK? Which episode are you up to?

It would be important to have him ‘appear’ happy and natural so the Bay wouldn’t suspect a thing and it would be a huge shock to them(when they read the suicide note maybe), and make them think (if they (the writers) wrote it well that is and didn’t fob it off). This would be an ongoing process, gradually reaching a peak.

I was thinking although I reallllly don’t think I’d want it to be, (unless in a few years and with new writers that treat her pretty ****ty as an actor and she decides never to return), Sally would be a good choice. She’s always had insecurities and a high level of stress happen to her or around her, every single year of her life in the Bay along with how many deaths of loved ones… I remember when she said ‘I hate my life so much’ to Lance on her wedding, and I think I read here that she said she hated herself when she was a teenager or comparing herself or something.

Oh no not Sally :( But u did make a good point. If they do end up doing a complete story line around the issue, They should make a new cast member as I dont want any of my faveourites ending up all troubled.

If Summerbay was a real town people wouldnt go near it as it has so many deaths, phycos, and disasters

I honestly dont think we will ever see it tackeld properly. Home and Away are shying away from it it was never even said that Sarah committed suicide. It really annoys me how they wont tackle some plots becuase of its early time slot but there are a lot more controversial things on tv earlier in the day

True, Even the "news" is worse than Home and Away. *sighs*

I wish they would either that or move Home and Away to a slightly later timeslot.

I remember reading one time early in the 90’s a television show called Grange Hill in the UK was about kids in school and it covered heroin over dose and suicide, and that show was apparently during a kids times slot on a kids show for kids…

I used to watch Grange Hill, it covered a lot of issues that were topical for adolescents.

You would be surprised how many people do suffer from depression, to varying degrees. My boyfriend has "downers" roughly every two to three months, my cousin's boyfriend often displays symptoms of depression and my best friend's mum is manic depressive. It's frightening how common it is, and I agree it should be covered in Home and Away in a realistic, drawn-out manner that reflects the reality of the condition.

There are so many different aspects for depression. If they decide to cover mental illnesess, i hope they cover it true to life as possible. There has been many subjects covered, and have been helpful to the viewers in the past. So if they ever do this, i hope they do it justice.

Dan is to much of a happy chappy. Dan wont commit suicide

Depressed people don't necessarily walk around looking sad you know.

it would tell people more about the diease.

Im not having a go at you here, but depression is NOT a "disease".

That's all from me

:)
