Stefan Posted July 28, 2006 Report Posted July 28, 2006 Rewritten Part 3 August 20th 2005 Sally returned home. She walked uncertainly into the living room and sat down on the couch. She frowned and thought “it still feels the same..” Cassie entered the room. “Hey Sally, Did you go for a walk?” Cassie asked. Sally continued to sit on the couch before shaking out of the daydream. “Pardon?” She said. Cassie looked at Sally nervously. “Is everything ok Sal?” Sally stood up. “Of course it is” She said, faking a smile. Sally walked into the kitchen. “Where’s Flynn?” She asked. Cassie paused. “I guess he would be at hospital” Sally suddenly realised she was becoming suspicious. “Oh, right” Sally smiled. “Are you sure you’re ok?” Cassie asked again. “Cassie I said I’m fine. I promise everything is ok” Sally said calmly. Cassie smiled. “Ok, well I’m off to see Matilda” Cassie said as she walked to the door. “Have fun” Sally replied back. Once again, Sally was alone in the house. Sally began to walk around the house. It was like it was the first time she had been here. Everything still looked the same, but Sally still felt uncertain everything. As she was walking along the bookshelf, Sally accidentally knocked over one of Flynn’s medical books. It fell to the floor and made a very loud thud. She frowned at the book. She could have sworn she didn’t touch the book, how could it have fallen over? She picked it up. She glanced at the front cover. She suddenly had this feeling all around her. It was kind of like Déjà Vu. She had seen this book before. Her mind started to spin. Suddenly it hit her. She put the book down on the table and began to turn the pages frantically. Until she saw what she was looking for… Melanoma- Melanoma is a cancerous (malignant) tumour that begins in the cells that produce the skin colouring (melanocytes). Melanoma is almost always curable in its early stages. However, it is likely to spread, and once it has spread to other parts of the body the chances for a cure are much less. Sally’s heart skipped a beat. She didn’t know what to think. She began to cry her tears hit the pages of the book, making the text on the page just the little bit smudged. She looked at the date once more. The 20th of August. Sally then realising something ran out of the house. Sally ran into the hospital. She went straight to the front desk. “Where’s Flynn?” She asked. The Nurse at the front desk Smiled and pointed into the room opposite them. Sally turned and ran into the room. There was Flynn, packing up the equipment. “Sally” He said, surprised. “What are you doing here?” Sally ran over to him and gave him a hug. “I’ve missed you so much” She said through tears. “Well at least it’s a change from this morning!” Flynn laughed. Sally grinned for a moment before becoming serious again. “Flynn, There’s something I have to tell you’ she said. “What is it?” Flynn asked. Sally paused. “This is going to sound weird, --“ “Is it something bad?” Flynn asked. “Umm, well I don’t know at the moment” Sally said. “It’s complicated” “Why don’t you just tell me?” Flynn asked. Sally took in a deep breath. “OK, Flynn. You are going to die” Flynn didn’t really know if he should smile or not. “What?” “I need you to get that mole checked on your back.” She said, seriously “Sally, what’s all this about? I told you the Mole is fine!” Flynn replied back “NO IT’S NOT” Sally yelled. “Go to the specialist, he is going to tell you have cancer” Flynn was speechless. “Flynn Please…” Sally begged. “Did you have a dream about me this morning? Is this why you acted weird this morning?” Flynn asked. Sally began to form tears in her eyes. “I don’t want to lose you again” ‘Lose me again?— Wha--?” Flynn was about to begin before he was interrupted by Sally. “Just do it please? Promise me you will?” Sally said. “Flynn nodded his head. “OK, I’ll go see him today” ”Thankyou” Sally whispered. That night, Sally had prepared a huge meal for when Flynn came home. There was a knock at the door, Sally walked over to the door and answered it. Standing in the doorway was the woman she met earlier. She was wearing the same clothes and her hair looked like it hadn’t been touched, “I see you finally figured out, the bigger picture behind all this” She smiled while at the same time looking rather evil. Sally nodded. “But will it help?” She asked. “I cannot answer that” the lady answered. “I do not rewrite history, I am only apart of it” The telephone began to ring. Sally walked over to the phone, she was about to answer it when she turned to face the door, to say something to the lady. But she was gone. Sally turned back to the phone and picked it up. “Hello?” She said. “Sally Fletcher?” a unfamiliar voice said. “Speaking” Sally answered. There was silence. “Hello?” Sally said. “Who is this?” “You don’t know what you have just done” The voice replied
