Help on Image Editing Software

I've just downloaded a trial version of Paint Shop Pro 8.

Wondering if anyone could offer any tips on how to blend some pictures together. I checked the tutorials but I believe, the blending tutorial was done for photoshop.

Any help is much appreciated!

I'm kinda confused....if you see textures in a tutorial, how do you load them into PhotoShop? Any help would be much appreciated!

I just open them like you open other images in PS and drag them over.

It depends on what your duplicating.

How do you animate on imageready?

I'm a Newbie to PhotoShop 7...just wondering, how can I make brushes stand out more? I've messed around with a picture, altering layers etc, but then when I come to put the brush on it doesn't really stand out much, it just 'blends in' too much the background and is pretty indistingiushable. I'm just wondering how I can make the brush 'bolder', if that makes sense.
