I'm not sure if this is what you're not doing but...

Merge all layers (Layer> Merge all) before adding the brushes.

Yay! It worked! Thankyou! :D *hugs*

Just one more thing before I forget....is it better to resize a picture to 100x100 before or after adding brushes?

Actually cropping is the way to go....but i guess resizing also works. And yes, only after you crop and/or reseze. :)

I'm sorry, I have another question...I'm sure I'll get there eventually! I've got a Windows PC and I've downloaded .abr brushes. How do I get them into PhotoShop 7? They're in the file in My Documents, but I don't get how to load them into PS, if that makes sense. The file that I've downloaded has just appeared as a single pack...I don't get how to open it to actually get the brushes out. Oh, I'm just very confused about the whole thing! :P

I assume you mean a zip-folder when you say single pack. Double-click it, or right-click and extract. This will, if you have an un-zipping software, which you most likely do, extract the .abr file.

As to getting them into PS: Once you have the .abr file, you have to go into the PS-folder in your software folder. I don't know how it is in Windows, but in the iBook I have a folder called 'presets' and 'brushes' inside it. Place the .abr-file in 'brushes'. open PS and after you choose the brush-tool, go to the dropdown at the right upper-corner, click the arrow and choose 'load brushes', from there choose the -abr file you want to load.
