Help on Image Editing Software

Well, earlier on today I tried a tut using WMP 9, and although I have that version, I couldn't find one of the options used in a step

I want to make animations and flashing images... I have ImageReady, but I don't understand it at all! Could anyone please either explain it to me, or recommend a free software that is easy to use?

Well considering I spent weeks stuck with it I know one or or two things. What do you need to know? I can recommend a tutorial if you'd like!

ImageReady, from my point of view is one of the best, once you get the basics, the rest is really easy. The key with working with animations is that its frame by frame, if you make it yourself you have to draw/make every frame. You basically start by doing everything in Photoshop and then you jump to ImageReady and thats where the animation magic happens =)

If you would like a basic run down on basic animation such as make text flash, maybe If i had time I could write up a brief tutorial if you would like. However if you would like a tutorial on how to make animations from a film clip, I could do that as well, but it will take me time because that invovles different steps and programs =)

Dont laugh when you read this but how can i get one picture in another when i have Adobe Photoshop? Like blend one picture in to another when i want to make a banner ?
