That was a really good chapter, glad they all had an awesome holiday/ break!!! umm I wonder why Mattie & Luke missed the plane?? Thats a shame about Tasha and Robbie?? Hopefully she wont go for Jack !!! Can't wait for next post i love this story!!!

Chapter 20

As Jack and Martha were walking along the beach, they saw something they'd never wish they'd seen. It was Tasha and Robbie, they were having an argument. They could just about make out some of the comments, 'Just because you're in love with him' and 'What about our children'. As Martha and Jack got closer they started to calm down. Tasha saw Jack and immeadiately turned away. She was trying to stop herself from running up to him and telling him that she was in love with him. Robbie was paticularly cold. He hardly spoke a word. Tasha said that she'd catch up with Martha tommorow and that it was best if she went. As they walked away, they could here them starting to argue again.

"I hope we never turn out like that" Martha said to Jack

"Of course we won't, because I love you more than anything in the world" Jack said reassuringly

"I love you to, and we have four kids between us." Martha added

"I would never walk out on our children, they become more beautiful every day" Jack carried on. Tasha could only watch as she saw them walk off hand in hand towards Beth's house to pick up their children.

"Mummy, Daddy" Harry cried out running towards the pair of them

"Hey sweety" Jack said

"Hey you guys, you're earlier than we expected" said Beth

"Well we couldn't stay away from them too long and we saw Luc and Mattie's car outside their house and wondered if you wanted to come and say hello with us." Martha replied.

"Sure, I'll just go and get Tony." Beth said before walking off to find her husband.

"Hey guys, shall we go and see your uncle Luc and aunty Mattie?" Jack asked the kids

"Yer" was the enthusiastic reply from the twins.

As they walked towards Luc's home they saw his car on the drive.

"Well they're definitely back" Tony said.

"Yep, they sure are" added Jack. Jodi ran up to the door and started knocking. Lucas came to the door and was greeted by, 'so why did you miss your flight'. He tried to shut the door but the twins were already inside.

"Please, come in." He said. They eventually got the answer, I read the details wrong. So unlike Luc but everyone makes mistakes. Lucas and Mattie both knew that they would never here the end of it. Jack finally said that he and Martha had better be getting back. As they said goodbye, they heard Tony having one last dig. Whatever Luc said, they would never let it drop.

They arrived back at the house. Martha took Charlie to his cot whilst leaving Indi in the car seat in the hallway. She was only five minutes but when she got back the car seat and the baby were gone. She went to find Jack to see if he had her but he didn't. At this point Martha became really worried. She started to break down in tears but then she realised Jodi and Harry were looking at her.

"Everything will be fine mummy" Jodi said before giving her a hug.

"I know it will, eventually" Martha said under her breath.

"I'll ring the police and tell them about it" Jack said picking up the phone. "I'm afraid the only thing they can probably do is start questioning the locals. If that fails then they'll send out a search party" Jack added before somebody answered the phone.

It was the morning after. Martha and Jack had not slept at all. The twins had to be at school, but Mattie said she'd drop them off. They were waiting for a call from the police telling them how things were going. Martha remebered Tasha said that she'd come round this morning. Martha decided to ring her to cancel. She spoke to Irene but Irene said that Tasha hadn't been there all night. She presumed she had stayed with a friend after her fight with Robbie. She hadn't taken the kids so she'd be back, they meant everything to her. Tasha did come back but nobody saw her. She took her children and then left. Robbie was now also worried as he thought they might be in danger. As Martha put the phone down it started to ring again immeadiately. Martha picked it up. It was the police. The search party had found something. It wasn't looking good.

Chapter 21

Martha was in tears. The police had said that they had found the carrier that Indi was in. This was the worst thing Martha cold have heard. Jack tried to comfort her an tell her that it was a good thing because it meant that she was still alive. Almost everybody around town knew and the search party was growing bigger by the minute. Robbie hadn't slept all night just like Jack and Martha. He was thinking about Tash. She had now taken his children. He thought it was strange that Tash had disappeared at the same time as Indi. Then it hit him. He had to go and see Martha. It would take him ten minutes to walk but in the car it would only take five. He had to tell Martha everything before it was too late.

Robbie began to tell Jack and Martha how Tash felt about Jack. She said that she had fallen in love with another man, that other man was Jack. He told them he had thought about it all night and was sure that Tash would have taken the baby to make Martha realise how it felt to not be with the thing that you loved. It was the only way that she could get through to Martha. After hearing all of these things, Jack and Martha were both in shock. They didn't speak for five minutes. Jack soon broke the silence though when he told Martha that he should phone MacGrath and tell him what Robbie said. It might help find little Indi.

MacGrath had questioned Robbie about where Tash might have gone with Indi. He had said that the only place he could think of was in the forest. She liked to be close to nature and there were some secluded cabins out there. The only other place she might have gone was to the city to see Josie. She was one of relatives and they were always very close. It was a possibility. MacGrath told other officers what to do before heading out to take control of the search.

Martha had told Jack that she needed to help with the search. Robbie said he'd go to. The more people they had the more chance there was of finding Indi. Martha and Jack soon came across Indi's carrier. Martha collasped down onto her knees. She was crying hysterically. Jack went up to her and held her in an embrace.

"How can my baby girl be gone?" Martha asked

"I don't know Martha, but she will be alright. I promise, I will make sure of it." Jack replied. Just then one of the officers called out.

"I can here a baby crying" he yelled. Martha and Jack raced to find Indi crying on the deck of a cabin. They craddled her in their arms until she stopped crying. Whilst Martha and Jack were comforting Indi the police were already in the cabin. They saw on the floor, a women and two girls under the age of five. Robbie came in and said, "That's my wife and my two daughters" before walking out again. Lying next to Tasha was a gun. In the three bodies there were gunshot wounds. Tasha had either been murdered or committed suicide.

Tasha had left three letters, one for Irene, one for Robbie and one for Martha. Having these and reading them concluded that it was suicide. The news soon spread right across town. Everyone knew. They all wanted to know what was in the letters. Irene couldn't open hers and asked Robbie to do it for her.

Dear Irene,

The first thing I want you to know, is that I will miss you very much. I had to do what I had to do. I was unhappy. I was living a lie. I had to be with people that make me happy. You may think that that means that you made me unhappy, but that isn't true. If anything it's the opposite. You were one of the few people that brought a smile to my face. I know you are hurting, but I did it for myself. I hope youcan forgive me for the pain that I am causing. I hope that one day I will see you again.

The next was for Robbie

Dear Robbie,

Even though I didn't love you anymore, I didn't want to hurt you. I did not take your daughters away from you to make you suffer. I had to do this. I hope that you can move on from this and forget about me. I hope you meet someone else, fall in love again. I am sorry for what I did. But I had to do it.

The last was for Martha

Dear Mac,

You were my best friend, I could always count on you whenever I needed you. You could always keep a secret and you never let me down. But you had the one thing I always wanted. Happiness. You had the man I loved. I came over to your house and I saw Indi lying in her carrier, asleep in the hallway. I came over to tell Jack that I loved him and that I wanted to be with him. I was going to give him the choice of me or you. But then I thought, no that's stupid, because he would always pick you over me. He would pick the woman he loved more than anything in this world and he would pick his children. So I just had to make you see what it was like not being able to be with somebody that you love and cherish. How horrible it is to be apart from them. I had to make you see how I was feeling. I didn't do it to hurt you, just to make you realise. I hope that you can understand and forgive me for the pain that I've caused. I can now be happy, where I belong. Enjoy your hapiness and don't let it ever get away. Please give my love to everyone.

Nobody spoke for what seemed like ages. Indi started crying so Jack went to get her. He said she needed a feed. Jack and Martha decided to take her home. They had so much to take in. At least they had their children. Robbie had lost everything. How was he going to cope.

For the next week Jack and Martha tried to make things as normal as possible for Jodi and Harry. Charlie and Indi weren't really affected by it, but Harry and Jodi could tell something was wrong. It was the day of Tasha's funeral. Alot of people turned up. There was an awful atmosphere. Everyone just wished it was over. It wasn't a very long service. Irene invited everyone back to ther house for tea and biscuits but everyone wasn't really in the mood. Most people just went straight home. Martha and Jack decided to go straight home as the kids were getting a bit restless. It was best for all of them. The only thing they could do was get on with their lives.
