Here's a teaser for the next chapter.

Chapter 22

For the next few weeks people tried to get on with their lives. Colleen had something else to gossip about and the people had stopped staring. But Martha couldn't stop thinking that Tash loved Jack. She had felt insecure about this for two weeks after everything had sunk in. Jodi could tell something was wrong yet again and so could Jack. It was Charlie's birthday in two days time. They were just going to do what they did on most birthdays, spend time together on the beach as a family. Those were the happiest times. Jack had decdided he would confront Martha about how she was feeling whilst they went shopping today for some presents for Charlie.

They dropped the twins and Indi off at Beth's. And then headed in to Yabbie Creek. They got talking.

"Martha, I know things have got to you lately, but you seem really distant." Jack said

"I know, it's just" She began

"It's just what?" Jack asked

"Well ever since Tasha said that she loved you I wondered if you loved her" Martha continued. There was silence, Jack didn't answer.

Does this mean that Jack did love Tash?

Couldn't keep you in suspence that long LOL. I started off with the teaser.

Chapter 22

She had felt insecure about this for two weeks after everything had sunk in. Jodi could tell something was wrong yet again and so could Jack. It was Charlie's birthday in two days time. They were just going to do what they did on most birthdays, spend time together on the beach as a family. Those were the happiest times. Jack had decdided he would confront Martha about how she was feeling whilst they went shopping today for some presents for Charlie.

"Martha, I know things have got to you lately, but you seem really distant." Jack said

"I know, it's just" She began

"It's just what?" Jack asked

"Well ever since Tasha said that she loved you I wondered if you loved her" Martha continued. There was silence, Jack didn't answer. Eventually he managed to say something.

"Martha, I can't believe you think I love anyone else"

"What?" She said with a puzzled look on her face

"Martha, I've always loved you. You're perfect to me in every way. I love you and no-one else. Like Tash said in her letter. I would always pick you over her. I could never leave you." He finished.

"But I thought the silence meant that you did love her"

"No, I just didn't think you'd ever doubt my love for you. I love you and our children" He added. For the rest of the journey there was silence. They didn't speak at all.

They eventually got there. Martha knew she had to apologise, but it wasn't easy for her.

"Jack, I'm sorry, sorry I ever doubted you." Martha blurted out

"It's alright I forgive you." He said giving her a passionate kiss.

"Jack, not in public" Martha moaned

"Oh, so now I'm not even allowed to give the woman I love a kiss, what is the world coming to?" Jack said sarcastically. They walked into the toy shop. They couldn't take their eyes off each other. It was like they had just got married. 'The Honeymoon Period'. The completely forgot the reason they were even in a toy shop.

TWO DAYS LATER

"Hello Mr." Martha said looking down at Charlie who had just woken up.

"Ma, up" He said back wanting Martha to pick him up.

"I suppose so as it's your birthday" Martha said picking him up and carrying him downstairs. Jack kissed her on the forehead before taking Charlie. Indi started crying. "She probably needs a change and a feed." Martha said heading towards Indi's baby basket that they kept downstairs. The twins then came downstairs. They always seemed to wake up at the same time.

"Morning you two, nice to see you're finally awake" Jack said kissing them both on the forehead.

"Daddy, as it's Charlie's birthday, are we going to the beach?" Harry asked

"We sure are." Jack replied

"Yes" they said together giving each other hi-fives. Martha started laughing at them. Jodi and Harry went and sat down at the table together. They seemed inseparable at the moment. Jack put Charlie in his high chair. He went over and kissed Martha who was giving all her attention to Indi.

"Eww" said the twins covering each others eyes.

"Sorry guys, forgot you were there. But now that I've got your attention, what do you want for breakfast?" Jack asked

"You mean we get to choose?" Jodi asked

"Well as it is your brother's birthday, it won't hurt. But nothing too extreme" Martha added.

"Well I'll have....." they said before Jack interupted

"Why don't we just go to the diner?"

"Great idea hun" Martha said before kissing him again. "Why don't you go and pick which clothes you want to wear and mummy will be up in a minute" she said to the twins, but they were already gone.

Later at the diner, Jodi and Harry were debating what to have. In the end they both ended up having pancakes. Jack had eaten earlier and Martha wasn't hungry. Instead she was trying to calm down a crying two month old baby.

"I better take her outside" Martha said

"Ok, I can take her if you want." Jack offered

"No, you've got Charlie on your knee" Martha said before walking outside. Indi did eventually stop but only after Martha had fed her another bottle inside the diner. She was now asleep in the carrier.

"Have you finished?" Martha asked Jodi and Harry

"Yes mummy, can we go to the beach now?" Harry said

"Sure, we'll go and get the beach stuff from the car." Martha added before leading the twins outside to the car, carrying Indi's carrier. Jack followed her after paying the bill.

It was one o'clock and they'd been on the beach for two hours. Martha was in the water with Harry and Jodi, Indi was asleep and Jack and Charlie were building a sandcastle. It was a perfect day to be on the beach. The sun was shinning and there was a slight breeze. Harry raced out the water in his boardies.

"Daddy, will you come rock pooling with me and Jodi. Please" Harry asked with the cutest face possible.

"Hang on , I'll just check with mummy." He said heading towards Martha who was coming out the water holding Jodi's hand.

"Sure that'll be fine" Martha said, "And take Charlie with you to." she added before kissing him and waving goodbye. It couldn't be more perfect. The kids couldn't be happier. In Martha's eyes, thing's couldn't get any better.
