Sorry it took so long, but here's the next bit.

Chapter 23

Charlie had had a great birthday. He was just like Harry was at his age. He had a great bond with Jack and hated it when he wasn't with him. Indi had grown alot in just four months since her birth. As she had experienced alot when Tash took her in the bush, they didn't know what she would be like. At first she had craved alot of attention and cried alot, but she settled down and was now sleeping through the night. She was growing up in exactly the same way Martha and Jack's other children did. In a loving enviroment. Jack and Martha were still deeply in love and had gotten over any problems they may have had after the whole Tasha saga. They seemed closer than they ever had been before. Everyone could see that. The twins were still really close and hated it when Martha and Jack showed any sign of affection in public or at home. It was too embarrasing.

Martha had to work today at Noah's. Luckily her shift was during the twins school time, so Beth was only looking after two kids. Beth helped out with them alot. She enjoyed spending time with all of them. Jack was working all day and wouldn't get back until seven o'clock. That meant Martha was doing everything tonight. She missed him so much when he wasn't there. She only had two more hours of her shift left before she could finally go and get on with things. The bar was dead. There was really no point in her being there. It was the same at the police station. Jack had the odd noise disturbance report to fill in but apart from that nothing. He wished he could be at home, with Martha and their children.

Martha went to pick the twins up from school. She was pushing Indi in the pram when she started crying again. This was unusual as Indi usually went to sleep in the pram. She found it soothing. Charlie was at a friends house. The bell went and all of the children started to come out of school. Martha waited but she couldn't see either of the twins. Then a teacher came out and told her that Harry had been hit by one of the other boys in a different class. He was crying inside, so Martha went straight in. Jodi was there aswell. After Harry had calmed down a bit, the teacher that had come out earlier was explaining that the boy that hit Harry had been causing a bit of trouble. He was bullying some of the other children. He kept getting punished but he still carrys on. She suggested that Martha came into school the next day, or Jack if he wasn't busy. As Martha said she wasn't working she would come in.

"Mummy, can we go home now?" asked Harry who was still breathing heavily.

"Sure sweetie, come on" Martha said, taking his hand.

"I'll see you tommorow" the teacher added.

Harry was still upset when they got home. Jodi was upstairs playing with her dolls and Indi was asleep. Harry was sat on Martha's lap. He had his head tucked into her chest.

"It's alright sweetie, mummy won't let anything happen to you." She whispered in his ear. Jack then came in. He had managed to get off work early. He saw Harry on Martha's lap and rushed over.

"Hey, hey hey little man, what's the matter?" Jack asked whilst taking Harry from Martha.

"A boy hit him at school" Martha answered. "They want me to go in tommorow with him" she continued.

"I can go in with him if you want, I've got the day off so I might aswell." Jack said

"Okay, I'll come with you to the school gates, but then I'll go into town and buy Indi some new clothes" Martha replied before going to get a crying Indi from her cot. By the time she was back downstairs, Harry had recovered and was now sitting on Jack's lap watching the TV with him. A small smile was on his face.

"How are my two favourite boys doing?" she asked when she walked past them.

"Yer, we're fine now aren't we mate. What was the matter with Indi?" Jack asked

"She just needs a feed" Martha said as she got out a bottle.

"Do you want some help?" Jack asked looking over

"No I'm fine" Martha said as she removed the dummy from Indi's mouth and replaced it with the bottle of milk. She then went and sat down beside Jack and Harry. "I better go and get Charlie in a minute." she said.

"I'll go if you want babe" Jack said kissing her on the forehead.

"If you're sure, Jodi might want to go aswell just to say hi to Jess." She added.

Harry didn't want to go to school that morning. Martha and Jack tried to convince him to go but he just burst into tears. Jodi on the other hand told him that she'd be lonely without him, and that it wouldn't be the same. After hearing this, Harry eventually decided to go. Charlie was going into nursery today. He went twice a wekk, and he really enjoyed it. Most of the kids there went to the school that Jodi and Harry were at. Martha walked with them all upto the school gate before she turned around to go back to get the car to drop Charlie off and go into Yabbie Creek. Jack went into school with Harry and Jodi like the teacher had suggested. Harry was nervous and scared of what this other boy would do to him. Having Jack and his twin sister there, gave him some comfort though.

It was lunch time, Harry had stayed with Jack all day. The other boy called Dom hadn't bothered him at all. But at lunch when Harry decided to leave Jack's side and go and play with his friends Dom came over to him and pushed him over. One of the teachers saw this and went to go and get Jack immeadiately. Jack came out and picked him up. He was crying hysterically. Mrs Smith went to go and get Dom to apololgise. He did apologise, but before he could get away, Jack went and started talking to him.

"Why do you hit people Dom?" Jack asked in a calm voice.

"Because I'm angry" he replied

"Why are you angry?" Jack asked again

"Because Harry has something I want." Dom answered

"And what does Harry have that you don't?"

"A...A family, that loves him" and with this Dom started crying. Jack comforted him. He then went to speak to Mrs Smith about what Dom had told him. She said that maybe they just needed to show Dom that he was loved. Harry had started crying again. Jack told him what had happened. He then calmed down and Jack convinced him to go and play with his friends again.

Martha was in the clothes shop at the counter, when she realised what time it was. She had decided to go and meet Jack with Harry and Jodi at the end of school. She would be there just on time, but only if she left now. As she pulled the car up and got out, she was surprised to see Harry with a smile on his face. He came running towards her and gave her a big hug. Jack and Jodi followed close behind him.

"Hey sweetie, how was your day at school?" Martha asked Harry

"It was ok in the morning, but it was really good in the afternoon." Harry replied

"So, do you think that you'll be alright to go on your own tommorow?" she asked again

"Sure I will" he replied. "Can I get in the car now?"

"Course you can." She said before watching him and Jodi open the boot to get to their seats. "Hey babe" She said eventually giving some attention to Jack.

"Finaly, I have your attention" he said jokingly. She kissed him tenderly on the lips.

"You've definitely got my attention now" she said. They both giggled.

"Eww" was the noise coming from the car. The twins had covered each others eyes up.

"Nice to see things are back to normal" Martha said before getting in the car.

I was bored so I thought I'd update.

Chapter 24

TWO MONTHS LATER

Harry and Jodi were off school soon. They were pleased that they didn't have to go but Martha and Jack both knew that they would be bored and miss their friends. Jack and Martha were going into Yabbie Creek to go to the new supermarket there, along with Charlie and Indi. Indi was now six months old and growing rather quickly. She still craved attention, and had forged a very close bond with Martha. You could tell that when Indi was in Martha's arms, she was happiest. Jack had decided as always that he would just slip away with Charlie to the cafe they had there, and let Martha get on with the shopping, after all, she never stopped going on and on about how she never got out an how she could do with a shopping trip.

After they had finished the shopping it was time to go and pick the twins up from school. Sometimes they would be the last out of school, and sometimes they would be the first. It all depended on whether or not they enjoyed it. Today they were first out, which meant that something had gone wrong, which also meant a bad mood.

"Hey you guys, how was school?" Jack asked as he saw them walking towards them

"Not good" Jodi said in her stroppy voice

"Jodi don't talk to your father like that" Martha said giving her the look to watch it.

"We had to write loads. Mrs Smith said that it wasn't good enough and made us do it again" Harry added

"Well, you know you should always try your hardest, even if you don't enjoy it" Martha said

"Okay, I'm sorry mummy" Harry replied "Can we get in the car now?"

"Okay, if you must" Martha said before getting in the car herself.

"Jack, how do you think they'll take the news." Martha asked

"I don't know, but I hope they'll be excited about it and not burst into tears" he said looking at her. He could see she was worried about it. "Look everything is going to be fine." He added before kissing her on the lips.

"I'm sure it will" she replied before going to get Indi who was crying. She came back with her in her arms. She was still crying. For once Martha couldn't calm her down. She had to give her another bottle.

"Jack, she's not been herself lately" Martha said staring down at her baby girl. "Something's not right"

"Well babe, if you're that worried about her then why don't we take her to the doctors" Jack sais seeing the distress in Martha's eyes. "I'm sure it's nothing"

"Ok, I'll try and book and appointement for tommorow." Martha said before sitting down next to Jack. He smiled at her before saying. "We'll tell them over tea. I'm sure they'll be fine about it" and kissing her on the forehead.

"I really hope so"

It was teatime, the whole family where sitting round the table apart from Indi who was asleep.

"Kids, we've got something to tell you" Jack said

"We're moving, into a bigger house" Martha continued

"Really?" Jodi asked who had taken the news surprisingly well

"You'll each get your own bedrooms" Martha added

"O, cool" the twins said together.

"We'll have much more space" Jack said

"Daddy, when are we moving?" Harry asked, he was always the sensible one.

"In about two weeks" Jack replied.

"It's going to be great kids, you'll see." Martha said.

Martha and Jack were both surpised they took it so well. They needed their space, so it was the best thing to do. In the morning Martha had managed to squeeze in an appointment with Rachel first thing about Indi. She was tired so headed off to bed early. In the night, Indi woke up twice. She never did this anymore and usually slept through the night. Jack tried to calm her down but in the end, he had to get Martha. Eventually she stopped crying. Martha was now wide awake though and she knew that as it was five in the morning, there was no chance she could get back to sleep. As she was up she may aswell have gone downstairs. She took Indi with her as she didn't want her to wake anyone else up. Indi slept in Martha's arms until seven o'clock when she usually woke up as she was hungry. Jack came downstairs.

"Morning babe" he said before kissing her on the lips.

"Morning, are the kids awake?" Martha asked

"No, I'll get the twins up in a minute and get them ready for school." Jack said

"Ok, I've got to be gone in one and a half hours so it's up to you how you get them to school and what you do with Charlie." Martha replied

"Alright babe" Jack replied, "Why don't you go and get a shower whilst I give the rest of this to Indi. You go and get ready." He added taking Indi from her.

"For that, I'll get the twins up whilst I'm at it" she said before kissing him on the lips and heading upstairs.

Martha had gone and the twins had to be at school in twenty minutes. They were dressed and ready to go, they were just waiting for Jack as per usual. They were walking so they had to leave soon. Finaly Jack came downstairs and gave them their lunches, before he took them to school. Meanwhile Martha was at the hospital in Rachel's office.

"Right Martha, what can I do for you?" Rachel asked

"Well she's been up quite a bit in the past couple of nights and usually she sleeps right through. She's not teething and I know there must be something wrong with her." Martha finished

"Right well let me have a look at her" Rachel said before taking the baby and lying her in one of the cots in an examination room. "Um, well there's nothing that seems out of the ordinary, we'll run some tests, but I'm pretty sure it's just the flu. The tests will be done pretty quick, so if you don't mind waiting I can get them to you really soon."

"Sure Rach, whatever needs to be done." Martha said. Martha then phoned Jack to tell her what was happening.

ONE HOUR LATER

Rachel came out and asked Martha to come into her office.

"Well, the test results show that there isn't anything seriously wrong with Indi. She's got the flu and soon she'll start teething, so a combination of both of them, is proabably what's causing her to wake up in the night. The best thing you can do for her, is try and stick to her normal routine and give her lots of attention. If you're there for her when she's upset, then I'm pretty sure that things will be fine soon" Rachel said before showing Martha out of her office.

"Thanks Rach, I'm sorry to bother you over nothing, but I was quite worried about her" Martha said

"That's alright, I'm sure I would have been the same. But if you'll excuse me, I have other patients." she said

TWO WEEKS LATER

It was moving day. Martha and Jack had let Beth have the kids so that they could get on with packing everything up. It didn't take them long, as they were buying some new furniture. The kids were going to stay over at Beth's to let Jack and Martha unpack everything. They hadn't moved far, but it was a much bigger house. It had seven bedrooms, two reception rooms, a dining room, a massive kitchen, three bathrooms and a play room for the kids. It was expensive, but with Jack and Martha both on sterdy income they could afford it.

Martha and Jack had just about unpacked and were going to get the kids. Indi had gotten over the virus she had but now she was teething and if anything she was in more pain than before. Harry and Jodi were really excited about having their own bedrooms and a playroom. Charlie was just as excited, even though he didn't really understand what was going on. Apparently Indi had slept all the way through the night at Beth's. That was the first time in ages. Martha had missed all of them so much. The house seemed quiet without them last night. The kids were all really happy to see Jack and Martha and wanted to go and see their new home. They said goodbye to Beth and thanked her before collecting the kids things and taking them to their new home.

The twins rooms were on the top floor. They were both the same size if not one of them would complain. Jack and Martha's room was on the first floor along with Indi, Harry's and two spare rooms. There was a bathroom on each floor and Martha and Jack had an ensuite. The playroom was on the bottom floor. Jodi's room was like a palace. It was painted in pink and she had lots of fairy lights everywhere. Harry's room was blue and had a space theme. He loved it. Charlie's room was green. It was quite big, as all it had in there at the moment was a cot, a changing table and a wardrobe, but soon Charlie would be getting his own bed. Indi's room was big enough. They had it painted in a yellow. It was perfect for her. Jack and Martha went downstairs with Charlie and Indi. They went into their new living room. It was massive. The sat down on the sofa. This was the start of a new beginning.
