Chapter 26

NINE MONTHS LATER

Jack came in and started kissing Martha on the neck.

"Jack, not now, I have to go and pick the twins up soon" Martha said

"I say we have at least ten minutes to spare" Jack said before continuing with the kisses.

"I suppose so" Martha said before leading Jack upstairs. Jack and Martha were trying for another baby. At the moment they were all over each other. Beth had asked if the kids could come over to hers in the afternoon. Jack and Martha had both jumped at the opurtunity for some alone time. It was the last day of the holidays for the twins, and they weren't looking forward to going back to school. Being at Beth's would hopefully put them in a good mood.

Indi was over a year old now, and Charlie would be going to school next year. Things would be too quiet for Jack and Martha. It was time to go and pick up the kids. It would be different not having them around during the day. But they still had Charlie and Indi to keep them busy. Charlie tried to escape all the time and Indi still had to be the centre of attention. Martha was going to be late, not that Beth minded, but she wanted the twins to get an early night as they did have school. Jack went with her to collect them. They walked hand in hand. When they arrived they were greated by Harry and Jodi running towards them. Even though they loved spending time with Beth, she was quite strict and wouldn't let them do much.

"Are you ready to go home, cause you've got school tommorow?" Martha asked

"Yer, I suppose so" Jodi answered.

"Alright then, lets get your stuff" Jack said going to pick up the things that they had bought with them. Martha went to get Indi. She was asleep in her pram. Charlie was at the door almost about to walk out before Jack came and scooped him up in his arms. Charlie was also tired and couldn't be bothered to start and argument. They were soon out of there and walking back home.

Back at the house Martha had put the twins straight to bed, as they had been fed at Beth's. Charlie and Indi were asleep by the time they got back. Jack had decided to make Martha some dinner. He made some pasta. Martha had always loved pasta. By the time Martha came downstairs again, it was ready to eat. She went over and kissed Jack on the cheek.

"Thanks babe"

"Is that all I get?" Jack asked. Martha kissed him passionately. "That's better" Jack said, Martha just smiled and then sat down to eat her tea. Jack kept kissing Martha all night, but Martha didn't give in to Jack's attempted advances. She wasn't in the mood tonight. She wasn't feeling too good.

In the morning Martha still wasn't feeling too good. Jack said that she should go to the doctors, but she said that she would feel better later. Jack said he'd take the kids to school so he headed off with the twins and Charlie as he had nursery today. Martha had decided she knew what was wrong with her, so she went down to the chemist with Indi to get what she needed. It didn't take her long to find what she needed and went and paid for it. When she got home, Jack wasn't back. She put Indi in her cot and went in to the bathroom. She pulled out a pregnancy test.

Martha waited for what seemed like hours. Eventually the test was done. A little blue line appeared. She was pregnant. She heard Indi crying and had to go and see her. She quickly put the test in the bin and went to get Indi. As she was going downstairs, she heard Jack come through the door.

"Hey babe" she said with Indi still on her hip.

"Hey hun, do you want me to make you some breakfast?" Jack asked

"No, I had some earlier" she lied, the truth was she had morning sickness, but she didn't want Jack to find out she was pregnant like that.

"Alright, if you say so" Jack replied kissing her on the lips. "Do you feel like taking Indi down to the beach this morning?" Jack asked

"Well we could walk along to the diner, cause I want to see aunty Morag." Martha suggested.

"Sure babe, whatever you want" Jack said kissing her again.

Martha and Jack were walking along the beach, with Indi in between them. She started crying so Jack picked her up. Martha realised that this was one of the few chances she'd have that day to tell Jack that she was pregnant. She had to tell him now.

"Jack" she said

"Yes babe" Jack replied

"I'm pregnant" Martha said.

"That's fantastic" said Jack giving her a hug, "When did you find out?"he asked

"This morning" Martha answered.

"Babe, that's brilliant" he said kissing her on the lips. "Do you want me to phone the hospital later and get you a scan for about three months time?" Jack asked

"That would be brill." Martha said kissing him again before they went inside that diner.

"Hello love" Irene said to Martha as they walked in.

"Hey Irene, I was wondering, is Morag upstairs?" Martha asked her

"No love, she's still in the city working on a big case, she said she'd be back soon" Irene answered

"Right, well I'll just have a milkshake then" Martha said

"Hey, I'll have one to" Jack said before heading over to a table.

"I'll bring em over right away" Irene said before disappearing into the kitchen. Just then Rob walked in, he saw Jack and Martha and went to sit with them. Irene then came over with the drinks and Robbie asked for one himself.

"So, what have you been up to whilst I've been in the city?" Robbie asked them in a cheery voice.

"Looking after kids" Martha said

"Oh yes, how are they all and where are they all?" he asked noticing they only had one child with them

"Well, the twins are at school and Charlie's at nursery" Jack asnwered

"Good, good, well at least you're left with a bit of chaose" he said looking at Indi

"We sure are" Martha said placing Indi on her knee.

Later back at the house, Jack and Martha had to pick the twins up from school. They both headed out with Indi in the pram. Charlie didn't have to be picked up until later. The kids came out from school a little later than usual. They ran up to Martha and Jack and gave them a big hug.

"Mummy, daddy" they said together. They were used to just one of them picking them up so it was a nice surprise.

"Hey guys, how was school?" Jack asked bending down to there height.

"It was good." Jodi said.

"That's great, are you guys both tired?" Martha asked when she saw Harry yawning

"A bit" Harry answered.

"Well, it's an early night for you then isn't it." Jack said taking their hands and starting to walk home.

Later in the evening Jack had just got off the phone from the hospital.

"Is everything ok with it?" Martha asked as Jack came and sat down next to her.

"Yer everything was fine" he said whilst pulling Martha into a hug.

"Great." Martha replied

"I bet you it's a boy" Jack said

"I bet you it's a girl" Martha replied. "I don't want to find out till the birth."

"Me neither" Jack said. "It's always nice to find out at the end"

"It's what we've always done before" Martha added

"Yep, and it's what we're going to do this time" Jack replied before kissing Martha on the lips.

Chapter 27

THREE MONTHS LATER

Martha was having her first scan today. She was booked in around lunch time, as the twins were in school, Charlie was in nursery and Beth was looking after Indi. They hadn't told anyone yet, that Martha was pregnant, as they wanted to wait until the first scan to make sure that their baby was healthy. Martha had had quite bad morning sickness this time. It had never been this bad before. The twins had been told that they would be getting another brother or sister and they were quite excited about it. Charlie just about understood, and just followed Harry and Jodi's lead, so just kept smiling. Indi was to young to understand, but she would be affected when Martha couldn't do that many things with her.

Martha had just dropped Harry and Jodi off at school, the fresh air helped her sickness in the morning. The twins liked it when she took them as Jack had been doing it alot lately. Jack was at home with Charlie and Indi. He was going off to work when Martha got back and he would meet her at the hospital in time for her appointment. He was going to drop Charlie off on his way in. Martha was still at the school gates. Jodi had asked her to wait until they went inside. Martha said she would. She didn't get back until quatre past nine. Jack had to get going straight away otherwise he would be late and that would be the second time this week. That left Martha with Indi. She was going round to Beth's at ten thirty, so that she could give herselft time to get ready. She wanted some 'me' time.

Martha was at Beth's having a coffee. Indi was near the sofa playing with some blocks. Martha was keeping a close eye on her. But she had to get going soon. By the time she got back, it was half past eleven. She had to leave in and hour and a half, just enough time to have a nice relaxing bath and drink enough water to make the picture clear. The bath would take at least half an hour and that was fast for Martha. She also wanted to have some luch as she hadn't had any breakfast. Martha had been so relaxed in the bath that she wasn't watching the clock. She now only half an hour left before she had to leave. She rushed down a sandwich and tried to drink as much water as possible.

Martha managed to get there just on time, Jack was already waiting for her. Martha had just sat down when Rachel came out and called them in. Martha lay down on the bed. She raised her top so that Rachel could put the cold gel on. It was freezing, Martha always hated that bit. But then they saw it on the screen, their baby. They couldn't believe it. They got the same feeling every time they went for an ultrasound. It seemed to convince them that it was actually there.

"So, do you want to know the sex of your baby?" Rachel asked

"No" they said together, "We want it to be a surprise" Jack added

"Ok, well your baby is very healthy, there's nothing to worry about. I'll just print off a picture for you" Rachel said.

"Thank god it's healthy, because I've been so sick I thought that there might be something wrong with it" Martha said to Jack. Martha pulled her top back down.

"There you go" Rach said handing them two photos. "We'll have to catch up sometime, maybe you and Jack could come round to mine and Kim's place next teusday" Rachel said

"Sure, that should be fine, we'll get Beth to babysit" Jack said

"Ok, great, we'll see you then" Rachel added before leaving them to it.

"It'll be great to catch up with Rachel and Kim, it feels like we haven't seen them in ages." Martha said before getting off the bed.

"Yer, their relationsip must be going pretty well if they've bought a new place together." Jack replied

"Maybe I hear wedding bells" Martha said laughing.

"Come on, let's get home" Jack said taking Martha's hand and heading down the corridor.

When Jack and Martha went to pick up Indi Beth was a bit suspicious as they were all over each other. They were never usually like that in public.

"Are you two alright?" Beth asked

"Yes, why wouldn't we be?" Jack asked her

"No reason" Beth replied

"Well actually Beth, there is something" Martha said

"Oh yes, what is it?"

"Well, I'm pregnant again" Martha said

"That's great, congratulations" Beth replied giving her a hug

"Thanks, we're really pleased to" Jack said

"You don't sat, you're all over each other"

"Is it really that obvious?" Martha asked

"Yes, it is, everyone will be asking you if you're alright" Beth said "But then you can't help it if you're head over heels in love can you."

"I guess not" Jack said before kissing Martha. Just then Indi started crying.

"We should probably get going, she needs her nap and we've got to pick the twins and Charlie up soon" Martha said looking at Jack.

"Alright then babe, lets get going" Jack said pulling her up.

Back at the house Indi was asleep, she had fallen asleep in her pram so Martha had just decided to leave her there, rather than disturb her sleep and she was going to have to go in the pram when they went to pick up Jodi, Harry and Charlie. Martha was looking at the picture of the baby in the kitchen when Jack came up behind her, he pulled her into his arms.

"Beautiful isn't it" Jack said staring down at the picture

"Our baby" Martha said still not taking her eyes off it. Jack kissed her on the neck. She turned around to face him and kissed him passionately. "I love you so much" she said kissing him again.

"I love you to" Jack said before kissing her back. They held each other in an embrace. "We better get going, we've got to go and pick the kids up" Jack said, he kissed her again.

"Yer, come on, we should go" Martha said leading him to where Indi was sleeping. She still hadn't let go of his hand. She pushed the buggy with one hand.

It didn't take long for them to get there. They were early, so they stood outside in an embrace. The kids soon came out though and Martha and Jack had to pull apart. Jodi and Harry came out and were both tired so they decided to go and pick Charlie up and go home straight away. They were home in about ten minutes. The kids went an collapsed on the sofa and turned on the TV. Martha asked them to turn it down a bit. Indi was still asleep but Martha told Jack to wake her up and feed her, if not she would wake up in the night. Martha was cooking tea. She and Jack were tired aswell. They all needed an early night. After Jack had fed Indi he went and out her in the lounge with her brothers and sister. He told them to make sure she didn't do anything. She would just play with the wooden blocks in there. He went to help Martha cook. He could see she was tired so told her to go and sit down. Jack had put the food in the oven and came and joined the rest of his family in the lounge.

I love the little cute Holden Family Yay Martha having another baby where was Tony and Lucas? dosn't the kids call him Uncle Lucas since they are Lucas nieces and nephews?
