Hi guys sorry I haven't updated for a while, but I've been on holiday. Just to let you know I didn't really enjoy it because it rained all the time!

As I'm going back to school soon I will try and update every night uk time, and the next update should be up today probably evening.

Chapter 40- I CAN'T BELIEVE I'VE DONE THIS MANY!!!!!!

Jack and Martha couldn't quite believe that Martha was pregnant. Martha hadn't even thought about when she was sick.

"Jack, I don't know if I can love this baby" Martha eventually said

"I don't know if I can either" he replied.

"But I just can't get rid of it, I couldn't do that"

"I couldn't either" Jack added. Rachel then came back in.

"Well, I have another patient in a minute, so I'm afraid I'm gonna have to go but when you decided what you're doing, call me and I can book an appointment for your first ultrasound or a termination" Rachel said to them before leaving. Martha and Jack soon left after that to find Jodi at home.

"Where have you been?" she asked

"At the hospital" Martha replied, she wasn't in the mood for any sarcastic comments.

"What's the matter?" Jodi asked, her voice had suddenly gone serious

"Your mum's pregnant" Jack answered

"So you got her up the duff again" Jodi said before heading upstairs to her room.

Jack was on the phone to Lucas, and Martha was talking to Mattie on her mobile.

"What?" Martha yelled "Why?"

"You idiot" Jack yelled down the phone.

"Look Mattie I have to go and be sick again, but I will call you again in a minute" Martha said before heading to the toilet as quick as possible.

"Look mate I have to go but I will talk to you in about ten minutes" Jack told Luc before rushing to help Martha. Jack was too late, Martha had already stopped being sick. "They split up" they said together.

"I can't believe Lucas and Mattie won't be together anymore, I always thought they were perfect for each other." Jack finished.

"Same" Martha added before heading into the kitchen. When the kids got back from school, Martha decided to tell them all then about Lucas and Mattie's break up. They took it surprisingly well. Harry said that he had noticed some tension when they last saw them. It was amazing what kids could pick up on.

ONE MONTH LATER

Everyone had now got used to Mattie and Lucas not being a couple. Lucas had even found a new girlfriend. Her name was Laura. They had met when Laura was in Summer Bay doing a photo shoot. There had been an attraction instantly and soon they became an item. Ever since Jack had found out about Martha's pregnancy he got alot more distant. At night he had been going out alot, and he was always at work. Secretly he didn't want this baby, it was too soon after Lily's death. He was going out again tonight.

"Right, I'll see you later" he yelled to Martha

"Yes, have a good time" she said to herself. Once again she had been left alone, with the kids. Jack was going to a club. He had arranged to meet up with someone. Becky, her name was, she was a teacher.

"Hey babe" she came up to him and kissed him.

"Hey" he replied. She had a friend with her. "Who's this?" he said nodding his head towards a girl

"This is my friend Laura, we became good mates when I used to do modeling" Becky replied.

"Nice to meet you" she said

"Nice to meet you to" Jack replied

"So Bec, I take it this is Jack" Laura said

"It is indeed" Bec replied

"Well, I've heard alot of things about you"

"I hope that they are all good" Jack added

"You can only hope Jack, only hope" Laura's voice faded away as she headed towards the bar for a drink. Whilst Laura was at the bar, Jack had already started to kiss Becky. How far would he actually go?

Jack got back quite early compared to some of the times he usually got back. But everyone was already asleep. Tommorow night, they were all going over to Luc's to meet Laura for the first time. They had heard alot about her but never actually met her. As Jack had work in the morning, he decided that he needed some sleep aswell, so headed upstairs to their bedroom. In the morning Jack had already gone by the time Martha got up and started to make breakfast. It definitely seemed like he was trying to avoid her. She got the kids to school, like she seemed to do every morning, before heading down to the Diner for some breakfast. She couldn't eat early like the kids as she still had morning sickness.

"Hello love" Irene said as she walked in

"Hey Irene" Martha replied

"What can I get you?" Irene asked

"Umm, I'll just have a juice please"

"Right, I'll bring it over to you" she added before heading into the kitchen. Martha stayed in the diner for most of the day, as there was no-one at home. At times she felt so lonely there, and then the memories of Lily would come flooding back and she just had to get out of there. At night she needed Jack to help her with the kids, but he was never there, in the moring he was never there. The only good thing to come out of all of this was the fact that she had become so much more closer to the kids and they relied on each other so much more to. They didn't keep anything from each other and would always stick up for one another.

When Martha got home Jodi was back home with Indi, she had picked her up on her way back from school. The boys were at Noah's getting some drinks with their mates. They would be home around five just in time to get ready to go to Lucas'. No-one knew what to expect of Laura, what would she be like. It would be so different seeing Luc with someone else in a relationship.

LATER THAT EVENING

Indi ran up to the door and knocked.

“Hey Indi” Luc said before she pushed past him and into the small house.

“Hi, you must be Laura” Martha said

“Yes, I sure am” she replied. After all of the greetings, they soon all sat down for dinner. Jack had been on edge ever since he met Laura for the ‘first time’. He just wasn’t himself, and everyone picked up on it. Laura whispered something in Lucas’ ear before excusing herself to go to the bathroom. Shortly after Lucas followed.

“Lucas, I don’t know how to tell you this, but I’ve met Jack before, I met him when I was with my mate Becky, and they were all over each other, kissing and all that, and I’m sure it’s him. I know he’s your brother and all that, but trust me on this one. I swear to god I am telling the truth.” She finished

“Whoa, I need to take it all in, are you sure it was Jack?” Lucas questioned her

“Lucas, I’m sure, the way they acted, you definitely remember something like that” she replied. What they weren’t aware of was that Martha had followed them to see what was wrong and had heard every word of it. Lucas opened the door to see Martha there, tears rolling down her cheek. It was strange because she never doubted Laura, she didn’t say a thing about her lying. She just somehow knew that she was telling the truth. She ran, ran as fast as she could. Jodi knew straight away that they should go with her, so told her brothers and sister that they had to go. Jack just sat there. He didn’t follow. He knew the reason she had gone. There was no point in trying to get through to her because it wouldn’t help. He had to let her have some space.

The kids followed Martha all the way back to their home, to find her packing their clothes and her own.

"Mum, where are we going?" Indi asked

"We're going on a little holiday sweetie" she replied. Jodi, Harry and Charlie all knew this wasn't true. Their mum would only run away if something big, something really big had happened. In ten minutes Martha was ready to leave, leave it all behind and go and start a new life. Maybe find someone else, but most of, above everything, forget about the man that ruined everything, ruined her whole life.

TWO MONTHS LATER

After not speaking to Martha or his children for two months Jack was worried. Worried that he'd never see them again. They were his world, or at least that's what he had realised after Martha had left. He realised that he didn't appreciate her at all, he never thanked her for anything, he never spoke to her, he never did anything to show her how much he loved her. Hopefully she would get in contact soon. Somehow after all the bad things Jack had done, he was going to get the chance to see Martha. That day she was coming back, coming back to see Morag and collect her things. The things that she couldn't go and collect, as she would have to see Jack. In those two months, she just wasn't able to face him. But now, she knew that she was able to handle seeing him again. She drove past the sign that said Welcome To Summer Bay. It brought back so many good memories and so many bad. All really about the same thing, well the same person. Jack Holden. Martha parked the car outside the diner. She was going to see Morag. She walked in in designer clothes. Most people didn't recognised her apart from Leah and Irene.

"Hi Irene, I was just wondering, is Morag upstairs?" Martha asked from behind her sunglasses

"Umm, I'm sorry love but she's not, she's in the city again, didn't she call you?" Irene said

"No, she didn't" Martha replied

"Oh well, I'm sure she will soon, but how long are you planning on staying around for love?" Irene asked

"I was only here to see Morag and to get some things that I left behind before" Martha replied. Martha was now four months pregnant, and just beginning to show. She couldn't face a termination.

"O, that's a shame love, can't you stick around for a bit longer?" Irene said

"No, sorry, I really have things to get back to" Martha replied

"Oh well, and I just thought I'd tell you, Jack hasn't been the same since you've left, we have hardly seen him, and we're all pretty sure that he's still in love with you" Irene finished

"Yes, well," Martha was going to say that she wasn't in love with him but she just couldn't. At that moment Bec came into the diner. She hadn't seen Jack for ages, but had heard about what had happened from Laura. She knew it was Martha as Laura happened to have a picture on her phone. She went over to her.

"Hi Martha, you probably don't know me, but can we have a talk?" Bec said looking towards some seats.

"Sure, I guess, but it will have to be quick" Martha replied. They went over to the chairs and Bec started talking.

"Well I heard about you and Jack, and I just wanted to explain, that me and Jack, well we only happened because he, well he needed to talk to someone. He felt like he couldn't open up, so one night we got talking, well really he talked and I listened, and I didn't know he was married, and I guess things just went on from there. Jack really isn't to blame for all of this. I took his company the wrong way. If anything it's my fault" she finished. Martha was just taking it all in.

"No really, I'm sure you're not to blame, Jack could have stopped it going any further but he didn't, and I really do have to go." Martha replied. She just went, her feelings for Jack were resurficing. How could she have been so stupid to go back to Summer Bay? She ran along the beach, she ran to the cliffs. To her surprise there was already someone there. In her place. The place only she and.....Jack knew about.

He was sitting there looking out to sea. For one second Martha felt butterflies in her stomach. He was there, alone with her. But she soon stopped her imagination going any further. She left. Jack turned around to see a figure running away. Strange he thought to himself. Martha headed straigh towards the car. As she knew Jack was at the cliffs, now would be a perfect oppurtunity to go to the house and collect her things. It hadn't taken long for Jack to realise who it was. He ran back to the house, hoping that she was there. She had been there, but had now gone. She was now gone again for good. Martha had picked her stuff up and was now driving away. Once again she passed the sign that said Welcome To Summer Bay, but this time, she was leaving. What was she doing? She realised that she still loved Jack. She quickly pulled over. She just kept asking herself, could she forgive him? She found it in herself that she could, and that she could love him more that ever. She had to see him, to kiss him, to let him hold her again. She started driving again, but this time in the other direction. She was going back, and for good. She drove up to the house, and quickly went to the door. She knocked but no-one answered, so she went inside. She found Jack with a gun to his head, preparing to kill himself. His life was not worth living any longer.

"Jack, no what are you doing?" Martha yelled. This surprise him so much that he accidentally let the gun off.

OMG that chapter was full on. First Jack cheating, my heart seriously just sank when i read that. I couldnt believe it. Poor Martha. And now Jack shot himself in the head. Obviously he wont live, unless he didnt shoot himself in the head, then thats a different story. But i hope his alright. And where are the kids???
