And I am not lazy I just take my time. Chapter 46 Martha was so glad that things were back to normal. Now they could look forward to the birth of their child. In just one month they would become parents again. Jack had somehow 'accidentily' found out whether it was a boy or a girl. He kept dropping hints that it was a boy, but Martha didn't want to know, so tried to ignore the comments, even though now she was pretty certain that it was a boy. Martha walked downstairs, she was still sleepy as she hadn't been sleeping well lately. "Morning beautiful" Jack greated her with a kiss. "Hey" Martha replied "Mum, you don't look too good, are you're sure you're alright?" Charlie asked "I'm fine sweetie, nothing to worry about" Martha said putting on a small smile. **************** Jack had dropped Indi off at school, as Martha was feeling tired still. Jack had told her to go back to bed, but she just couldn't sleep at all if he wasn't there. She sat on the sofa waiting for him to come back. Jack finally walked through the door. He saw Martha sitting down waiting for him. "What are you doing out of bed?" he asked "I was waiting for you" she exclaimed "Why?" Jack asked again "Jack, I struggle to sleep when you're here, let alone when you're not" she said. Jack went and sat beside her. After about fifteen minutes she fell asleep in his arms. He then decided that he'd leave her there to sleep, whilst he went to get a drink. When he came back Martha was awake, holding her stomach, struggling to breath. **************** Before Jack could get to her she had collapsed on the floor, and was now unconscious. Jack immeadiately called for an ambulance, all he could do was wait. When they arrived Martha got taken away from him, he felt like that had happened too many time, not being able to see his wife in her hour of need. ONE HOUR LATER Jack had now been sitting on the horrible blue plastic seats in the waiting area for half an hour. They had never seemed that uncomfortable before. He was thinking about anything, well at least trying to think about anything apart from Martha, as he would be worried sick if he just thought about her. Well he was worried sick but it would only make things worse. Finally Rachel came out. "Jack, Martha's gone up to theatre, the baby is in alot of distress and really needs to be born. Martha is also in alot of pain. The operation shouldn't take too long, I will let you know as soon as she comes back alright. And Jack, try not to worry, they will both be fine." She said trying to reassure Jack. **************** Martha was still in theatre, Jack didn't know what was taking so long. He was feeling more worried than he'd every been before. Alf had arrived earlier, and told Jack that Laura and Lucas would look after Indi. He had also phoned Jodi and told her what had happened. Just as Jack had re-entered deep thought Dr. Young came over to him. "Jack, you can go and see her now, and congratulations, you have a beautiful baby girl, Martha's still asleep but she will wake up soon" he finished "Thanks" was all Jack could get out. He was so thankful that Martha and the baby were ok but then he had so many memories rushing back. Lily had always wanted a little sister, she didn't want a brother, she wanted a sister, someone that would look up to her in the same way that she looked up to her brothers and sisters. She had wanted it so badly, and now she wasn't here to see it all. When Jack finally reached Martha's room he was shocked to see her sitting up holding the little girl. "Jack, it's what Lily wanted" she said to him "I know" was all he could reply. He went over to her and pulled her into a deep hug. "Have you thought of any names?" Jack asked "Yer actually I have" Martha said whilst still staring down at her little baby "Well, what are they?" Jack asked again "Mia, Mia Lily Holden" "Martha, that's a beautiful name, I'm sure Lily would have approved" Jack said before kissing her tenderly on the lips. ***************** Everyone was crowded around Martha's bed, looking at the little bundle of joy. The baby that brought back so many memories. At first the twins were excited about having a new sister, but then they remembered, sleepless nights, changing nappies, and that was just the first month, then when they were about two they would be taking everything and hiding it. Then there would be the tantrums. Why another one? But they did both approve of the name. Everyone did. Infact, it was the one thing they probably all agreed on. Mia Lily Holden. Jack and Martha 4eva Posted September 22, 2006 Report Posted September 22, 2006 Chapter 47 Martha had had so many visitors over the last two days, mainly family and close friends, but then the odd person would pop in just to say their congratulations and they had some how known Alf when he was alive. They just came in to see Mia really. She was so beautiful and so like how Lily was when she was first born. She just slept through the day unaware of the attention she got, but then she would manage to stay awake most of the night bawling her eyes out. She could already sense when she was in Martha or Jack's arms and was definitely comforted when one of them walked in the room. Today Jack was bringing them home. Martha was so glad to be getting out of hospital, she hated it and always had. All the way through her other pregnancies she complained about how dull and boring it was there. She loved to feel the sand between her toes and the wind in her hair. She loved the beach and the cliffs, infact, she just loved Summer Bay and she was sure that Mia would too. **************** Martha was getting Mia out of the car as Jack unlocked the door. The kids were all at school, but Lucas and Laura had decided that they were going to come over in about an hour with Becky and Ric. Jack was just staring down at Mia in their room. She was just like Lily. Martha walked in looking for a certain top and then walked back out again. As soon as Mia sensed that Martha had gone she started crying. She had been so used to her being in the same room as her 24/7 that she hated it when they were apart. Jack picked her up and started to comfort her. When this wasn't working he took her downstairs to where Martha was now sitting on the sofa. The doorbell went so Jack handed Mia to Martha. By the time he got back she had quitened down and was now sleeping contently in Martha's arms. "How did you do that?" Jack asked puzzled "Jack, I'm a mother, I just know how to do these things" she replied "Aww, Luc, I want one" Laura commented "Laura, you're getting one remember" Lucas said "Yer, I know, but I want one now" "Laura, I'm sorry babe, but that aint gonna happen, but we will have one in a few months" Lucas added. Martha had picked up that Becky just wasn't herself. Whilst Mia was asleep she thought that she'd make the most of it and talk to Becky whilst she could. She could also see that Laura was dying for a cuddle with Mia, she thought that it was best not to make her wait any longer. "Laura could you just look after Mia for a minute?" Martha asked "Course I would" she replied jumping for joy. Whlist Martha gave Laura the baby she glared at Becky hinting for her to follow her. She walked off into the kitchen where Becky soon joined her. ***************** "Becky, come on tell me what's wrong" Martha pleaded with her. Becky could feel the tears building up and knew that any minute, they would come rolling over her cheeks. "I don't want the baby" she whispered "What?" Martha asked, not hearing "I said I don't want the baby" she said louder "What?" Martha asked confussed "I don't want it" she literally yelled "I heard you, I just don't understand" Martha told her "I'm scared" Bec replied "What of?" Martha asked "I'm only young, what if I'm a bad mum?" Bec said "You won't be, and anyway you will get all the help you need from, me, Laura, Ric, everyone." Martha added before giving her a hug. It was what Bec really needed to hear. "Thanks Martha, I really needed to tell someone" Bec commented "I could tell something was up" Martha joked before they both headed back into the lounge. ****************** Martha laughed as she saw Lucas now trying to calm Mia down. She was stubborn and wouldn't shut up until she got what she wanted. Martha took her off him and took her back into the kitchen. "Well, I think you're hungry aren't you" Martha started talking to Mia. Becky then walked in. "Hey, Becky, do you want to feed Mia?" Martha asked "Um, well I'm not sure" Becky said "Come on, it will be fine, I mean what's the worse that can happen?" Martha asked again "Um, well I could drop her and kill her" Becky replied "Yer, well, that's not going to happen" Martha said whilst handing Mia to Becky with a bottle. "I am giving you no choice" she added "Fine" Becky commented. Martha had poured herself a glass of water and was now watching Becky feed Mia. Mia hadn't cried at all. Becky must have been good, as she would usually be crying her eyes out by now if Jack was doing it. It was funny, how sometimes Mia would be comforted by Jack and then other times she had to be with Martha. The rest of the afternoon went quickly. All of the kids had just come through the door. They all seemed to be in a pretty good mood. They were just glad to have Martha back really. The only thing they weren't looking forward to were the sleepless nights. It was alright for the twins as they were on the top floor and wouldn't hear a thing. Charlie and Indi on the other hand would hear everything. They could only hope that she would settle down into a routine soon. ***************** Becky and Laura had left two hours ago. The kids were getting on with their homework in their rooms. Jack and Martha were watching tv with a sleeping Mia. She could just switch on and off like that. Lily used to be able to do that. Every hour Jack and Martha seemed to be finding more and more similarities between the two. It was almost as if Lily has come back to life, but as Mia. Martha remembered up in the cliffs when Lily had told her that she would always be with her. She would always be with her as Mia. She would always be with her no matter what. Preview What is the matter with Becky?? Ok I've updated again, I'm gonna try and make it a regular thing so that I update each night. I don't know how it will go but I'll try.
