Ok so I haven't updated in a while but I have been having major problems with the computer. I am going to try and update tonight, but I'm going to have to try and fit it in as I am quite busy.

Sorry about not updating for so long but I was also going through a block.

Chapter 49

In exactly one days time the twins were meant to be heading to this surfing competition. Jack was still objecting to them going on their own, so they finally agreed that Jack would pick them up from Will's, Harry's mates and then they would head off. Martha and Mia weren't going to come, much to the disgust of the twins. It just proved their point, they weren't a family any more, it was Martha, Jack and Mia with a little interest shown to the other children. The twins were up in their rooms packing their bags, for tomorrow. Will was in on their plan as he completely understood what and why they were doing it. They were pretty sure that it would work, but only time would tell.

The twins had just finished school. They were now walking back to Will's.

"Now, are you sure that you know what you have to say?" Jodi asked. She just wanted to be sure and to make her parents see what they were doing.

"Yes I am certain, I won't say anything else, trust me, I know what it feels like" Will reminded them

"Yer, sorry mate, of course, we know that you won't let us down" Harry told him. When they got to Will's house they were surprised to see that Jack was already there. Jodi and Harry had to think quick, they hid in the bushes and told Will what he now had to say. Quick thinking, was what Jodi was good at so she had no problem in deciding what to do. Will then walked casually like he always did up the drive to his house. Jack was standing outside the door.

"Will, where are the twins, we're meant to be leaving soon" Jack said

"Didn't they tell you, they decided to head up there early on their own and catch a few waves before the competition started. They told me that they were meeting you there" Will lied

"Oh, rite" Jack replied clearly annoyed that the twins hadn't told him about this. "Well thanks, I think I'll just give them a call" Jack added

"Ok Mr Holden" Will said. Jack dialed Jodi's number, but Jodi knew that he would do this and put it on silent, she did the same with Harry's. "No answer" Jack said to himself "Well thanks Will, I'm going to head up there and meet them there, thanks again" Jack replied before getting in the car and driving off in the direction of the competition. Completely fooled.

When Will signalled that he had gone the twins came out of their hiding and headed up towards the door with Will. Will's mum was home today as she was working from home.

"Hi Mrs. Barnes" Jodi greeted her

"Hello Jodi, hey Harry, what time is your dad picking you up?" she asked

"Well we're going to meet him at the surf club" Jodi quickly replied "so we'll be going in about 2 hours" she added.

"Ok, no problem" Mrs Barnes replied before heading off back into her office.

"Just too easy" Harry said to himself. The three of them fooled around for the afternoon and just relaxed and thought about what they were about to do. Finally the time came for them to go. They packed their bags and changed into some other clothes. It was time to do what they had to do. Will wished them luck before he watched them head down the driveway and down the main road. As soon as they could they were getting off the road in case anyone saw them. That was the last thing to do. Luckily it was a quiet afternoon and most people were inside. They found the footpath that they were looking for. They were on their way.

The twins had found somewhere to stay for the night. They hadn't quite reached their destination yet so they had found a nice spot where no-one could find them. Back in the house Jack had just gotten back to a surprised Martha. He quickly explained what had happened. Martha wasn't too worried about it because she knew what teenagers could be like and that they would probably be home in the morning. She told Jack that they should wait until morning before they did anything. Jack was quite angry about all of this, so for the twins sake it was better to stay away. At the moment they just couldn't do anything right.

NEXT MORNING

The twins hadn't shown up and now Martha was worried about them. All the way through the night she had been trying to get in touch with them but they weren't answering their mobiles. She had left numerous messages saying that whatever has happened that they needed to talk about it. They hadn't called back. The twins had gotten up early and were already on their way to their destination. In about thirty minutes they would be there. They were heading for the beach. But not just any old beach, Lily's favourite beach, the beach that she liked to spend most time on. Harry had found out about some caves that were arund there and they had made a joint decision that that was where they were going to sleep, then they could be close to Lily. It was her birthday soon, so they were determined to spend it there with her.

It was now late evening and Jack and Martha were incredibly worried. They had told the police about them going missing. The police weren't going to send out a search party until they had been missing for two days. So far it had only been one. Just then Mia started crying. Martha started to head up there but Charlie beat her to it. He brought her down and gave her to Martha. For once Martha couldn't calm her down, instead Martha burst into tears. This was just too much for her, especially with Lily's birthday tomorrow. She couldn't handle it anymore. She gave Mia to Jack and ran out of the door. She ran down to the beach, and collapsed onto her knees. She couldn't cope anymore, why couldn't her family be happy? she kept asking herself. She thought about the past year of her life and how things had gotten better when she had had Mia but then from then on things just seem to have gone downhill. She loved Mia to bits but she needed so much attention, and Martha didn't seem to have time for anyone else. Jack was always angry all the time but Martha knew that that was only because he had been thinking about Lily alot lately and he had been very upset. Mia reminded him so much of her and with her birthday coming up it was hurting like hell. In times like this she needed her kids around her and she was sure that the twins needed her. Jack was debating whether or not to go down and see Martha. Charlie said that he would look after Mia whilst he went to Martha. When he got down to the beach he couldn't find Martha, so he started walking to the cliffs. She was there looking out to sea. Jack walked up behind her and pulled her into an embrace. She broke down again. Once she had calmed down a bit she told Jack that tomorrow she was going to find her children and bring them home to where they belonged.

In the morning, Martha was up early and she was making breakfast for everyone. She knew that it was today that she was going to find her children. Lily was going to help her, she was sure. Beth was coming round to look after Mia whilst everyone went out. Charlie had been observing the twins for a while as he had noticed that they had not been themselves. He was pretty sure he knew where they were, but he also knew that if he told anyone like his parents then they would never forgive him. He was going to sneak off from the rest of the group and go and find them. That's exactly what he did, and thinking ahead, he took Indi with him. He immeadiately got onto the right path and followed it all the way down to the beach that only the kids knew about. When they got down onto the beach, Charlie started looking around for them, but they were nowhere to be seen. Someone tapped him on the shoulder.

"Why the hell do you think you're here?" Harry asked

"You're here" Indi yelled out and ran up to her brother giving him a hug.

"Nice to see you too Indi" he said to her.

"Harry, everythings ready" Jodi called out from the cliffs.

"You guys better come up" Harry told them leading them to their stuff. Up in the cliffs they had two pictures of Lily with them and some birthday cards. They had Lily's favourite teddy and some other things that meant alot between them. There was also a bottle, that was being filled with some of these things. Charlie knew what was going on. He started to help.

If was sunset, they had a campfire going, and they were all standing buy the edge of the cliff. Jodi and Charlie were crying. Harry was trying to comfort them. The bottle just stood there waiting for someone to do something with it. On it Jodi had written 'Happy Birthday Lily, You will never be forgotten, xxxx'. As Harry could through the furthest he was going to through it out to sea. Indi was now crying to. The sun was nearly gone and only the fire gave out light. Lily's favourite time was sunset, so that was when it was going to happen. In the bottle each of the kids had written a note to her. Harry picked the bottle up. Charlie, Jodi and Indi moved away a bit so that he wasn't crowded. He took a run up and then threw it as far as possible.

"Goodbye Lily" they all said together "And Happy Birthday" Jodi added.

Chapter 50

All of the kids were now crying. That night had just brought back to them how much Lily meant to them. As she was the youngest they always seemed to treat her differently. The sun was now gone completely, and they all sat around the fire, just huddling together to try and comfort each other and warm up. Martha had seen what they had done. She had now been standing watching her children for five minutes. She had noticed that Charlie and Indi had snuck off and had decided to follow them. She watched them from a distance at first but then got closer as it got darker. She watched them throw it out to sea. She just wanted to pull them into her arms and tell them that everything would be alright but she knew that they had to do this on their own and without their parents. Also if they knew that she was watching them they would have acted differently and they would have also been mad that she had found them. But she was going to find out soon how they would react. She had to make an appearance. She needed to see them.

She got up from where she had been crouching down, and walked up to them. All of their faces were red from the tears. The first thing she did was hug them all. They didn't speak, so she decided to break the silence.

"That was so sweet, Jack and I couldn't have done anything like that" she told them

"You were watching?" Indi asked

"Yer, I saw it all and I know you're probably mad at you but it was so special, you are all incredible" Martha talked to them in a soft voice trying to be as comforting as possible.

"Thanks mum" Jodi said. For once they were actually getting recognition.

"So do you think that you will come home now?" Martha asked "I'm sure that Mia misses you and all of us do" Martha reassured them

"It's always about her" Jodi said under her breath

"I'm sorry what was that?" Martha asked again

"She said, that it's always about her, and she's right, it is always about Mia now, you never have any time fr us,your hole life revovles around her. It's almost as if you don't have any other children" Harry spat out before running away. Jodi ran after him. Martha was still in shock after hearing his confrontation, but now it all made sense, why they had run away and especially the timing. She ran after them, she had to explain.

Finally she caught up with them. They tried to walk away but she could see that they were crying and pulled them into a hug.

"Your dad and I never meant to exclude you and we never knew this was how you felt. We miss Lily so much and we know that you think that Mia will replace her, but she won't. No-one will ever replace Lily ever. She meant everything to me, you all do, and I only care about Mia so much because I don't want the same thing to happen to her, or to any of you" Martha reassured her

"But you never say anything about Lily, and you never talk to us, you're always to busy with her" Jodi said

"I never say anything about Lily because it hurts too much, and everyday I see her in Mia. It hurts like hell and the pain won't go away, and I don't talk about it, not even to Jack. I just close everyone out." She continued.

"We'll only come home if things are going to change" Harry told her

"Of course they're going to change, I couldn't cope if you two weren't in my life, you should have seen me these past couple of days, I was going crazy" Martha joked. They laughed along with her.

"I want to come home, but we had to show you what was happening and how the family was falling apart" Harry explained.

"I know, I know you did" Martha whispered whilst leading them back to the cliffs. She had now packed up all their stuff. It was quite close to midnight and they were tired, so Martha had told Jack and told him to come and get them. He was so relieved when Martha phoned him and told him what had happened and he was also grateful that she had explained as he would have probably gone in there with all guns blazing and yelled at them. That was the worst thing that he could have done. He was just so upset that they felt that they had to run away to get the message across. That was what hurt him most.
