Chapter 56

Martha and Jack had stayed up all night thinking about everything. Mia was really restless that night as she obviously could tell that there was something wrong. Only Harry was going to find out about this, the other children would be told when the time was right. It was now 6am and Martha and Jack had gone up to bed an hour ago. Luckily Jack didn't have to work today so they could catch up on their sleep later. After getting two hours sleep they were up again, making breakfast for everyone. Jodi was away from everyone else in the living room feeding Mia a bottle of formula milk. Martha knew that she had completely withdrawn herself from the situation, and just wanted to be left alone, so that's what they did. As Martha was sorting out Indi she started to think to herself how she actually found out. Obviously she knew that she found out from Colleen, but Colleen had to have heard it from somewhere, and Jodi wasn't going to go and tell Colleen about her personal information unless she wanted the entire town to know. She had to have told someone before Martha and that is what hurt. She didn't come to her mum first. The only way Martha was going to resolve this issue was to find out who knew and go and talk to them.

Right well I completed half of my promise because I have posted some of my chapter, so I have posted something, and the rest will be up tomorrow. I can't get it up because mum wants to chuck me off the computer, but it's just waiting to go up, so it will definitely be up tomorow. Please comment, thanks

Great update. I can see why Martha is hurt that Jodi didnt go to her but she shouldnt yell at the others she should be glad they were tried to help her daughter. Hope there is more soon.

Chapter 56

That morning Jodi didn't go to school again, she told her brother that she was ill and him being Harry believed her, so went off to school not knowing a thing. Jodi was watching tv in the lounge when Martha walked in and sat down next to her.

"Jodi" she began, "I was wondering how Colleen found out about everything" Martha continued, but Jodi was blanking her out, she could tell so she grabbed the remote and switched the tv off.

"Mum, what do you think you're doing" Jodi whined

"Jodi, who did you tell and somehow I don't think it was Colleen" Martha said once again but this time giving Jodi full eye contact.

"I don't know, I guess the wind heard and told someone" Jodi said trying to avoid the subject. The truth was that Jodi had been thinking about that aswell, and she was mad at Laura for telling someone, even though she didn't know who it was that she told, she was still mad. She had decided that today she would go and see her and get things out in the open. So much for trust Jodi thought to herself. By the time Jodi had snapped out of her daydream Martha had asked her three times who she had told.

"I'm sorry, what?" Jodi asked clearly to the annoyance of Martha

"It doens't matter, we will talk about it later" Martha finaly gave up, she wasn't going to get and answer right now. Martha got up and walked into the kitchen. Jack would be home soon, and Mia would probably wake up aswell, so she had to get it out of Jodi now. She walked back into the living room, only to find Jodi finding her shoes, and yelling that she was going out. When Martha came to say something Jodi was already out of the door and on her mobile calling someone up. Martha knew that she shouldn't be going out, she was not in the right state of mind. She was going to follow her, and it may even help her find out who she told.

Martha raced upstairs and grabbed Mia. Thankfully she was still asleep. She grabbed something to keep Mia warm before gently bringing her downstairs and placing her in her pram before following Jodi down the street.

"Laura, we need to talk, meet me down the beach in ten minutes" Jodi yelled down the phone.

"Fine, I'll be there in ten" Laura replied. Martha wasn't very far behind and because of Jodi's raised voice, she now knew where she was going. Ten minutes later and Laura had just arrived on the beach. Lucas was obviously looking after Lucas as Laura didn't have Rosie. Laura went and sat down next to Jodi only for Jodi to get up again and start yelling at her.

"You just had to go and blab didn't you, and worst of all, Colleen, come on Laura, how low do you go?" Jodi started. Laura was looking quite confused as she hadn't told Colleen anything.

"Look I haven't told Colleen a thing, Bec must" but before she finished she realised what she did.

"Oh right, so you told Becky, not Colleen, and Becky told Colleen, well thanks a bunch Laura, you know I thought that I could trust you, I only told you because you just happened to be there when I was upset and alone, and I didn't tell Bec because I thought she would tell you, but you're just the same as her. I wish I'd told my mum first now" Jodi continued

"Look I'm sorry, but I really don't think Bec told anyone, unless she told Ric" Laura said

"Well sorry just isn't good enough, now the whole town probably knows my private business, just remind me never to come to you again when I feel awful and alone" Joid added before storming off up the beach. Martha having heard all of this felt good that Jodi wished that she had come to her, and angry at Laura and Bec for breaking Jodi's trust when she had told them such personaly information. She was about to go and have a go at Laura when she realised that Jodi was probably somwhere crying her eyes out, so she had ot go and find her.

Martha walked up the beach for five minutes before she saw Jodi down by the sea. She was on her knees, and the water was flowing around her. Martha ran up to her and pulled her up. Jodi's face was red from all of the tears. She pulled her away from the water and closer to the pram, she then pulled her into a hug.

"Jodi, I know that you're really upset about everything thats happened, and it can't have helped seeing Laura today, after what you told her, but you're gonna be fine, I'll be here for you no matter what." Martha finished.

"Mum, I'm sorry that I didn't tell you first, but Laura was just there and I had to tell someone otherwise I would have done something" Jodi said in between tears.

"I know sweetie, I know, and as long as I can help you I don't care about any of that" Martha whispered reassuringly in her ear. "Come on, lets get you home, you're tired, and you're soaking wet" Martha added before taking her hand and leading her back to the house.

Jodi was now changed and sitting at the table, staring at the food in front of her. She felt like she couldn't eat. She just wanted to be sick. She was so glad that her mum was there for her, she had realised that she could tell her anything. Martha was sitting at the table aswell feeding Mia. Just then Harry walked through the door closely followed by Jack. Jack was now off work and Harry had come back for some lunch. Jack came into the kitchen and took Mia from Martha and carried on feeding her her bottle. He could sense that something wasn't right, but he decided to wait until after Harry had gone back to school until he asked about it, he knew that Jodi wouldn't want him to bring it up. The next half an hour seemed to drag by, it wasn't until Harry left to go back to school that the mood seemed to lift.

"I'm just gonna go and put Mia down" Jack announced whilst giving Martha a glare, saying that she should come too. Luckily Martha noticed.

"Yer, I'll come with you, I'll just go and get her blanket, I washed it earlier" Martha said before going to get the blanket. She then followed Jack upstairs.

"No guesses for what they're talking about" Jodi said aloud to herself. Up in the bedroom, Jack started asking questions about what was going on.

"Martha what's happened now, what's Toby done?" He asked

"Toby's done nothing, it's Laura, I found out earlier that she told Laura first, and Laura broke her trust by telling someone, and then Jodi went out to see her earlier and Jodi basically yelled at her for telling someone, and then Jodi ran off, and I couldn't find her. But eventually I did. She was down in the sea, and the water was flowing around her, and she was crying her eyes out. She was so upset. I then brought her back home and she dried herself off and then we were just downstairs having lunch, well I say having lunch, more like me feeding Mia and her staring at her food" Martha finished

"It's getting really bad isn't it" Jack commented

"It's not getting bad, it already is bad, and I feel like there's nothing I can do to help. I'm really worried about her. I'm scared about what she might do." Martha told him.

"Hey, everythings going to be alright, we will get through this, as a family" Jack replied before pulling her into a hug.

That afternoon Jodi just slept, she woke up once when she was having a nightmare. She had become quite hysterical when she woke up and it took Martha a long time to calm her down. Finaly she went back to sleep. Mia slept for the same amount as Jodi so for Jack and Martha it was a pretty quiet afternoon. They stayed in the kitchen most of the time, just thinking, sitting in silence, occaisonaly glancing up at one and other. Jodi had to go back to school soon, they had to talk to her about it, and agree when. They also had to talk to Harry about what had been happening as he still didn't know. Jodi had asked not to tell him yet. She knew that he would be hurt, that she didn't tell him straight away but at the moment, that wasn't high on her list of awful things that were happenning to her at the moment.

When everyone was home Jodi had asked if they could all go to the diner for dinner much to the surprise of Jack and Martha. They had no objections, so they were now on their way for tea. As they walked in Jodi saw Laura and Becky sitting over in the corner. She deliberately avoided them and went and sat as far away from them as possible. Martha was aware of it, so just tried to keep the conversation on what they were all going to eat. Irene then came over and took their order. An hour later they had all finished and were ready to go home. Jack took them all out to the car whilst Martha paid for it all. Before she left she went over to Laura and Becky who were still there.

"Thanks for breaking my daughters trust, she really appreciated it, you don't know how upset she it" Martha said to them in a harsh tone of voice, before walking out, quite pleased with herself for sticking up for Jodi and showing them how much hurt has been caused.

Sorry I didn't update last night, but I was bogged down with a flamin history essay. It took me forever to do the conclusion, but I handed it in today, *fingers crossed I did alright*. Hope you enjoy that chapter and I hope its long enough for you SIAN
