Liz Posted August 27, 2006 Report Posted August 27, 2006 Thanks What is: AA A* etc? Is AA like A+? We have the option of either single, double or triple science (relating to how many GCSEs we gain from the sciences. AA just means two separate As. A* is the highest grade possible.
summer_bay_rules Posted August 27, 2006 Report Posted August 27, 2006 Yeah I did double science and managed to get AA which REALLY surprised me!
DreamerCio Posted August 27, 2006 Report Posted August 27, 2006 At my school the average people got for ICT in GCSE exams was c/d grades on the WJEC exam board. I was wondering what other people got in their ICT to try and see if it was the teacher or the exam.
-Annie- Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 Congratulations everyone! Well I actually can't sit my HSC for like another *counts fingers* another 3 years! Lol. But I did just get 34/35 for my Geography Exam. Yay!
Jess Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 I was also wondering...we did OCR Geography and nobody in my class of 15 got above a B...I was wondering what other people think as I was predicted an A*, I was told my coursework was excellent and worked pretty hard IMO, and got a B. I'm thinking about sending my paper back to be remarked.
Guevara01 Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 If you feel it should be remarked, send it back. You should just bear in mind that as well as putting your grades up or keeping them the same, they could also decide that they marked your paper too high. I am not saying that this would happen in your situation, but it's a possibility. If you genuinely feel like you should have gotten better marks, and nobody in your class got above a B, but were predicted higher, maybe talk to your teacher and see what they think. A 'B' is still an excellent mark! xx
summer_bay_rules Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 In geography I was predicted an A and got A*'s in both my year 11 mock and my year 10 exam. But in my actual GCSE's I only got a B. This was lucky as I needed at least a B to continue it next year. I am pleased with my B as it is a good mark but I can't help feeling a little disappointed.

Just a quick question, does the teacher have to refer the paper to be remarked or can candidates do it individually?
