Double posting to give you a ITC teaser :P This scene will probably change by the time it's finished anyway, so I don't see any harm.

The coldness of the city night was more prominent than that of Summer Bay. The dark skies conjured up a ground-level cloud of cool and smoky air which swirled around the pedestrians’ legs, as they paced backwards and forwards at the bus station.

The heavy smell of exhaust fumes choked and throttled anyone within walking distance as a coach pulled into its parking lot. The doors automatically opened sideways, a steamy hissing sound accompanied as various passengers unboarded the enormous vehicle.

A pair of feet dropped from the last step and continued to walk ominously into the light. From the boots, to their tight black jeans and eventually leading up to the black tight t-shirt of the woman wearing them, a dude smoking a joint eyed up the 20 something, blonde and curly haired chick, who walked past him. Her hair tied back tightly with only a strand from her fringe dangling down like a golden cobweb, which swayed with each step she took, pulling her dark cyan rucksack over her shoulder.

Eve Jacobsen smirked as she took long, strong strides into the distance of the night, where she disappeared, her legs sifting through the obscure, cool air, as she walked under the blinking sign which read Welcome to Sydney! at the exit of the bus station.

Loving the teaser, Andy. I can't wait for it.

Read SACIT and loved every bit of it. I'm glad that it's going to go on forever.

Anyway, just thought I'd say, Happy New Year to you guys. Hope this year will be a really, really fantastic year for you guys and the Zoe thread. :D

And let's hope that the storyline that Lil said is going to happen, happens. :D

Happy New Year! :D Hope 2007's awesome for you guys too.

Glad you liked the teaser! ITC should be up this week - just four more scenes and it's ready to go. Part 1 just sets things up for the last two so it'll be short.

Happy New Year, guys! And to celebrate a teaser of my first big fic for the year:

Lucas could hear Zoe passing behind him, the dull thudding of her combat boots as they hit the linoleum floor -nobody else walked like that; all determination with just a hint of cocky swagger. He heard her pause and double back to stand behind him and felt her presence as she craned her neck to see what he was staring so intensely at. "You know that we're not going to be able to take him with us, right?" she finally asked gently, well as gently as she was capable of.

Lucas swallowed back the lump in his throat and blinked angrily at the tears that were stinging his eyes. He was not going to cry, especially not in front of her. He had been through too much, seen too much, lost too much. He had killed monsters, he had killed people, he had almost died himself, he wasn't going to let himself start bawling like a angry baby at the thought of losing his best friend. "I know."

He felt her hesitate before she departed with a quick squeeze of his shoulder and a reassuring ruffle of his hair. And he was grateful for it, if she had done anything more, if she had offered comforting words and a shoulder to cry on or pulled him into a hug and rubbed his back and held him until he felt better, then she wouldn't have been Zoe. Whatever their relationship was, it wasn't one where they could do that and not have it be weird and Lucas wasn't sure that he could handle anymore weirdness right now.
