Lauz Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 Haha yeah as you can tell I'm right back in the mood I was in last year! Cracking jokes about cakes and whatnot. I don't know why I was so compelled to come back. I think it was when I was labeling my DVDs and I found one of all the stalker episodes. Basically I just cracked I feel like finishing that fic I never posted, but I should probably do that homework *sigh* Maybe I'll just read one more... I'm reading In The City now
Oxidizer Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 I even find myself missing Cake Girl now. Is it just me or is H&A really crap this year? Maybe it's because there's no Stalker, but I can't watch a whole episode, not since that fateful day at the barn. lol. ITC? I forgot I wrote that. It's not very good (understatement of the year). ETA: I think you'll prefer the Flammable series, it's similiar to GND (Zoe/Tracey as teenagers etc.)
Lauz Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 Damn right understatement of the year! I think it's pure awesome, absolutely! That was one of my faves too. Ahhhh cake girl. The amount of jokes she got thrown at her was insane! I mean there are 859 pages here One day, when I have ridiculous amounts of time on my hands, I'll read over some of the classic stuff from back in the days. Funny enough I watch H&A every night, but at the moment it's just dull. Matilda is giving me the ****s and nothing really stands out as a major storyline. At least everyone was excited bout the stalker storyline!
Oxidizer Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 I know! The cake jokes were funny. What was Rabsey's crack!fic called again, Just Another Day or something? That was hilarious. I liked the Swedish backpackers. Urgh, I know. I think the closest we ever got to Zoe was Kelli, and even she wasn't as satisfying as I first thought. I swear she was just put in there to make us miss Stalker Princess even more. And the storyline dragged on far too long than it should've had. I can't believe they even made Kelli have a scar (although much more grim) to Zoe, who had a similiar one on her stomache. WTF is up with that? Damnit! Now I want to write Eve/Peter/Clare fic of Eve getting revenge on them in the city back in 2005 just months after the factory, complete with Laura McPherson flashbacks.
Lauz Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 I remember Just Another Day! It's all flooding back to me now. So many fics, so little time. But hell this is much funner than writing an english essay on some crappy book. I'm still reading And how much did Kelli look like Emily? TOO MUCH! I swear it was a blatant rip-off of her... except Kelli sucked. As I've said before I would've been cool with Emily finally leaving the show but the ending was just such an anti-climax. They dramatized the thing for a year and ended in a few short seconds with a pastry. Nice. She did have a scar didn't she! Except Zoe's was cooler ;) I should screencap them and compare I'm looking forward to reading the fic you're having ideas about Sounds good to me! Laura McPherson... okay this'll sound stupid but she's the one who died in the fire right? Memory blank!
Oxidizer Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 And how much did Kelli look like Emily? TOO MUCH! I swear it was a blatant rip-off of her... except Kelli sucked. As I've said before I would've been cool with Emily finally leaving the show but the ending was just such an anti-climax. They dramatized the thing for a year and ended in a few short seconds with a pastry. Nice. Hee. That made me laugh! And you're so right about the Kelli/Zoe similiarities. You know what I wish they did with the Stalker storyline last year? Only have about 2 weeks of Peter acting shady and knowing about her being alive, and use the rest of the time from March-June with Zoe's return. The first half could be of the Maxine Trood stuff, then have her arrested at the abattoir, but have psyche evaluations (?) with her in prison etc., leading up to her escape, so we get to know why she killed her grandparents and neighbour's rabbit. Then the last week or so with Zoe on the run, with Tracey supposedly 'missing', and have it all revealed with the explosion at the end, complete with flashbacks. They could've at least have given us Zoe/Laura flashbacks at the abattoir where she was telling Peter how she survived the '05 blast, and have flashbacks of Zoe/Tracey in the city or escaping when blowing up the reception. I'm looking forward to reading the fic you're having ideas about Sounds good to me! Laura McPherson... okay this'll sound stupid but she's the one who died in the fire right? Memory blank! That'd be the one. Eve/Laura was my favorite ship until Tracey showed up. I've still got an incomplete Eve/Laura fic called No Good to finish.
Lauz Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 Your idea about the stalker storyline sounds perfecto! I think it would've been nice to focus a few episodes on only Eve, Tracey and Peter. That way they could've gone into more detail about what in the world was going on. And mainly I would've like to see how Eve and Tracey met, and explaining there relationship a little more. Ha... a little more, that means they would've had to explain some of it which they didn't!!! Even the last episode, the massive climax, the whole bloody thing was about a wedding! And then they managed to save a few minutes to have Eve and Tracey blown up before you know it. Did we ever actually see Laura? From memory I don't think so. So who was she exactly? A friend of Eve's? Eve/Tracey is by far the best ship possible. They're just perfect!
Oxidizer Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 I wish we knew how Zoe/Tracey met. That's what really pisses me off. They go to the trouble of giving Zoe a sexy accomplice, yet they don't even let us know anything about her! I thought when they create characters, the first thing they do is write a small background and personality for 'em? Tracey had no background, other than knowing Peter from the city, and her personality (and I'm sorry to say this) was more or less the same as Claire's. We only ever saw a glimpse of Laura and that was her mugshot on the missing persons report. I think if you type 'Laura McPherson' in the search part of the screencaps thread something will come up. I remember requesting it and someone posted it, so it should still be there. Other than that, nope, we knew nothing about her either. Only what Zoe said at the abattoir about them being 'friends'.
Lauz Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 I think we're on the same track here I mean logically when a new character comes into town they devote many episodes on explaining where they're from and what the deal is. But then magically on the cake-filled episode we see Zoe and Tracey working together... Were we really meant to make sense of that? Haha I keep calling her Eve then Zoe. Confusing!!! I agree about Tracey. She just appeared and pretty much all we knew was that she was a cop. Very specific information! Would've been nice to have an episode looking at flashbacks. Like remember the proper stalker episode with Zoe and Sally? They went into tons of detail explaining her plans and whatnot. That was how it should have been! Nice and cliche ;) I just saw the pic of Laura then, she's quite pretty! I'm glad they explained Laura in such detail aswell *insert sarcasm here* She's a friend of Zoe's is she? Wow... that's telling me a lot
Oxidizer Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 I know! And if it weren't for DB explaining on the official site, nobody would have a f*cking clue as to why Tracey all of a sudden switched sides. I mean, did they meet in the city? Were they childhood friends? Meet in juvenile detention, foster care? WHAT!? *shakes head angrily* I know! Eve was the better of the characters - she wasn't as 'playful' as Zoe was in 2006 and was one cold-hearted psychopath. But I prefer the name Zoe. 'Tis confusing, alright. I know! They used flashbacks then, why the hell not in '06? The wedding/crash week should've been devoted solely to wrap up the Stalker stuff and have the crash the week after. At least then the storyline probably would've been good. I mean, looking back, I did like 2006's Stalker stuff, it was just the ending, and the way they didn't tie up any loose ends ands left more questions than answers. You know what? I reckon I prefered the Suspicious!Peter stuff better, at least then it was all 'EEE! Zoe's coming back!'. And why, oh why, did they only limit the Maxine Trood scenes to just one episode? There were so many things they could've done with that. I wanted her to f*ck with Lucas' and Rachel's heads, seeing as they wouldn't have known her etc, but nope. And Kim! It would've been nice for them to have acknowleged their relationship - even if it was just sharing glances with 'Maxine' on the beach or whatever. Hee. She was. I can see why Zoe/Eve wanted to manipulate her. Waaait! That's another thing. How did they meet? There wouldn't have been enough time to build up a friendship from the city during the time Zoe was allegedly abducted by the Stalker in '05, and I doubt she knew she'd get blown up before arriving in the Bay, because she only changed her plans at the factory at the last minute. So where did Laura come from? The only explanation I can think of is that she met her online after her break-up with Kim when things started to go wrong.
