Before I start, I would just like to say that everyone has done an amazing job and produced some fantastic icons. After much deliberation I am going to have to go for:

8 – Icon 1: I think the choice of image and cropping is fine but I feel the text lets it down as it doesn’t really ‘fit’. Icon 2: Again, I love the choice of image and the cropping but I feel it is too dark and doesn’t need the text along the shoulder line. Icon 3: The image is too dark and blurred which means the detail in the face is lost.

9 – Icon 1: I don’t think the two images go together and I’m not keen on the back of Jacks head being lost in the blending. Icon 2: I like the cropping but I feel the text is too bold and distracting. Icon 3: I’m not sure about the cropping and I feel the image is too light and lacks contrast.

It’s a shame in a way the purpose is to criticise, not praise, because some of them are amazing. But…

1. The green glow behind the text doesn’t work for me, it doesn’t suit the pictures IMO. The colouring on the first one also seems too yellow.

9. The Jack and Amanda blend does not work and the colouring is a little dull. The second and third ones both seem over-exposed.

5: I dont like the colouring and the first one looks a bit unorigonal, unlike the other 2.

6: I like the 2nd and 3rd ones, but not the first. Interesting concept, but just a bit weird. I think that it may have looked better with a different brush on it, and maybe some more colouring and curves added to it.

#8 - The first icon has really nice cropping, but the text is a little out of place perhaps, I like the wording but it looks a little bit cramped up all like that. The second has nice cropping, but the colouring is a little to dark for my liking maybe too tannish. The third is really nice, the cropping is good and one half of the colouring is nice... but the really light bit it just maybe too much.

#9 - I really like the idea around the first one, but the blending could have perhaps been a bit more careful. The second one has great cropping and colouring, but the text is a little offputting for some reason, maybe its because his name is just so long and looks odd on there :S and the third again has great cropping and I love that you've left it without gradients etc... but its missing a little contrast. If that was added I'd LOVE it.

All are great entries but..

9: I think it looks a bit incomplete. It looks nice but I think it needed to be taken a little further on all 3. I dont really think the blending was done well in the first one although I like the idea. on the second one I like the cropping and teh colouring is nice but I think it would have been nicer with out the text.

8. I dont like the text. Great job on the colouring and cropping but I jsut feel that the text doesnt really suit.

The second icon is nice the cropping is good and the colouring is a bit dark but not horrible. The third icon is nice I jsut dont like the bright bit of the colouring.

#4. The first icon well the blue blob thingy looks so out of place because the icon has no colouring on it whatsoever. The second icon the text doesn't fit with the overall appearacne of the icon. The third, the texture is too over-powering for the pic.

#7. The first icon just looks like a cap, IMO. On the second the text looks out-of-place and too bold. I like the third though.

On a positive note, I love set 1. they are some of the best icons I have seen in ages. :D

Gah, I suck. Sorry for the very late response here guys, but icons 8 and 9 have been iliminated.

#4- The first seems too sharpened, and the brush in the middle is a little strange. The second is the best in the set, I like it. On the third, I find the colouring of the gradient doesn't go well. I also find the pic needs more contrast.

#6- Same reasons as before.

No 1. For the reasons I said last time, green glow around the text doesn’t suit the avs and the first one is too yellow.

No 5. The last two avs are great but the first one looks rushed and amateurish and doesn’t go with the other two at all, thus ruining the set. The colouring is off and the red heart doesn’t suit the pic. The placement of the text is also not very original.

4- The first just is a little plain. I think more could of been done. I like the second, but I think it needs to be sharpened more. The third is just a tad plain. Indi looks really freaky.
