Set #1 and #6

Neither sets grab my attention, or stand out. The colouring is very plain and dull. Set 6 doesn't use any adventurous cropping, unlike set 1. I like the cropping 2nd and 3rd av in set 1.

However, neither set has been ruined ebcause of poor quality, because neither look pixelated. *thumbs up* And the cropping for both are good. There is nothing wrong with these sets... just the other sets seem to have what these don't. A brill effort though, and they are so nearly at some of the bests' standard. If the graphic makers look into some good colouring (I'm obsessed with bloody colouring ) I really feel that they could excel in the next competition.

Set #4: I don't really like the oversaturation on the first icon and I feel the text is a bit overpowering and dominates the icon. The other two are quite good, though. I like the border around the main picture on the third and the faint picture of the second.

Set #6: The cropping on the 2nd and 3rd is good but I don't think the central cropping on the first works. Also, I think all the icons need more contrast and look into some more interesting colouring.

The standard is really high across the board so it's quite difficult to choose.

Oohh... this is hard.

Set 1- I like the effect used in the first icon, however I'm not sure about Ric and Mattie's faces being chopped off nor the colouring of all three icons. The colouring seems reasonably dull.

Set 6- Lovely cropping on all icons however again the colouring seems to be dull and lacking something. Perhaps texture, brushes or text could have been used.

All the sets are of extremely high standard and that was hard!

Set1 - the first avatar has a nice concept, but the cropping of the bottom picture doesn't really work. The second avatar is quite nice, I like the cropping and the colouring. Not a fan of the third avatar however, I feel the black space contrasts way too much with the white, and takes up a large area giving the avatar an empty feeling.

Set6 - all the icons feel like bases rather than icons, as if they've simply been cropped, with nothing else done to them. I do like the cropping on the third though.

Set 1 - All pretty plain, i don't really like the first icon like the cropping of the second, third icon is a bit weird lol i don't like the cropping and i think it would be better if you put some text on it.

Set 6 - As Jess (sevenpuddings) said, they just look like they have been cropped not coloured i like cropping of first icon tho.

Sets #4 and #5

Set #4 - I don't like the colouring on the first, and the second is too dark and I can't really see the writing. I do like the third though. Very cool.

Set #5 - Very good attempts. They just seem a little.. crowded. The first one would have been fine without text, and the second two had both a texture and text and it looked too much, especially the second av. Out of these three, the third is my favourite. I like the texture used on the last two, and the B&W effect on the last.

#4: First Icon. Don't like the Saturation or the way the text was placed. Second Icon. Good Attempt, though I think a bit more contrast would work. Third Icon. Not Keen On The Border.

#5: Like Nicole said, they look a bit Crowded. First Icon. Not that keen on the text or the coloring really, Nice attempt though. Second Icon. Again a bit more Contrast could work, also maybe less opacity on the glowy thing. third Icon. I love the Text and Coloring, though the Texture ruins it a bit.
