Peter Baker Before The Bay!

“Tracey how are you” Peter said as he sat on his chair.

“I’m fine thanks Pete, but I have some bad news, well not exactly bad but the Superintendent has asked for Claire to return to the station to finish off on another case”

“Ok does Claire know yet?” asked Peter.

“No I was just about to let her know, could you get her in the office?”

Peter walked over to Claire and asked her to come in the office; Claire thought Peter was up to something as he whispered in her ear. She thought back to the times when Peter wanted a cuddle in training. He would whisper in her ear as a sign that he wanted her.

Claire thought Peter wanted her back because he used their “sign”. But she didn’t see Tracey when she first entered the office. As Peter goes to walk back into his office Claire pinches Peter’s bum, Peter grins at Claire.

Claire walks into the office thinking that Peter wants a cuddle but is disappointed when he says “Claire Tracey needs to talk to you” as he sat on his chair.

“Claire the superintendent has asked for you to go back to the station,” said Tracey.

“Ok but when I have a few things to take care of here” said Claire.

“He wants to see you today” replied Tracey.

“I’ll grab my coat” replied Claire.

Pete was a bit confused at why Tracey had come over to collect Claire.

Peter said goodbye to Tracey and Claire as they left the station.

Drew entered Peter’s office and said, “Where are we going now?”

“Home” replied Peter as they left the station.

They both entered Peter’s flat, Drew walked inn and noticed the picture of Peter, Dan and Ryan.

“Who is with you in the picture?” asked drew.

“That’s my brother Dan and my nephew Ryan.

“Where does he live?” asked Drew.

“Last I heard it was with my mum and dad in Molumby,” replied Peter as he put Drew’s bag in his study room.

“Don’t you keep in touch with him?” asked Drew.

“I don’t want to lie to you, so take a seat and I will tell you,” said Peter as he sat on his sofa.

Drew waited for Peter to explain to him about his uncle.

“Well a couple of months ago I left the station in the city to take some time out, that’s when it was Dan’s birthday. I do not get on with my mum and dad so I only wanted to see Dan but he was in L.A so I decided to go see him. I eventually found him and I found out he had a son called Ryan, he is so adorable. But the thing was he has a really hot wife and a couple of months later I made a mistake and it ruin my relationship with Dan” explained Peter.

“ow My dad is a naught boy who sleeps with his brother’s wife then” laughed Drew.

“you are too young to know that stuff” Peter said as he got up and started to make a drink.

“I’m nearly 14 I did sex education 2 years ago I no all the things I need to” laughed Drew as he waited for his drink.

Peter passed Drew his drink when Drew asked him about his mum and dad.

“mate it’s the sort of relationship that we couldn’t talk even if we wanted to” said Peter.

“Enough about me I’m hungry. You want take away?” asked Peter.

“Yeah Pizza sounds great” replied Drew.

Peter orders a Pizza over he phone.

3 days later

Drew was really happy to be living with his dad and actually getting to know him.

Peter was in his study room when his mobile began.

“Peter Baker”

“I can’t just drop everything I have things I need to take care off, my life has changed”

Drew started to walk past the room but stood by the door listening to the rest of the phone conversation.

“Ok but I need to go as soon as possible”

Drew couldn’t believe what he just heard.

Peter ended the phone call and saw Drew standing by the door.

“That’s how you feel is it, we only just started to get along! I thought you wanted to be my dad!” Drew shouted as he raced out of the house.

“Drew wait” Peter shouted as he ran after Drew,

Drew ran down the road from Peter. As Peter chased after Drew he couldn’t spot him anywhere so he decided to head back to his flat and ring Christy.

“Christy its Peter”

“Hi Pete, how is Drew”

“That is kind of why I am ringing, we had a bit of a disagreement and he just ran off, now I can’t find him ”

“How can you not find your own son”?

“He just ran off and disappeared,” replied Peter.

“Just keep looking I will meet you at yours in 20 minutes” said Christy as she grabbed her coat.

Christy arrived at Peter’s flat where she noticed Drew standing behind the flats.

“Drew we were getting worried” said Christy as she and Drew walked into Peter’s flat.

“Mate their you are I was getting worried” said Peter as he raced towards them.

“You worried, don’t make me laugh” Drew said angrily towards his dad.

“So when are you leaving?” asked Drew.

“I don’t want to but I have to!” replied Peter.

“you said that you wanted to go soon as possible” shouted Drew.

“Look mate if you heard the whole conversation I told them I didn’t want to go but they said I had no choice, that is why I told them I wanted to go soon as possible to get it over and done with so I can get back to you” explained Peter.

“You’re just saying that” replied Drew.

“I wouldn’t lie to you” said Peter.

“So if you are having to leave for a while Pete, it looks like Drew you will have to come back home” said Christy.

“That was the reason I stayed with Pete for to get away from you and the others” said Drew.

“Well I thought this situation might come up so I was looking at boarding schools for you to go to but they don’t come cheap” explained Christy.

Drew looked over at Peter

“I will pay for you,” said Peter, as he knew that him going away would be longer then what Drew thinks.

2 days later

Peter and Drew arrive outside the boarding school where Peter say’s “Drew I have a bit of bad news, I thought I would be back sooner but I was told today that it could be up to a year until I return”

“I knew this would happen, you just don’t want to be a part of my life,” shouted Drew as he left Peter in the car and headed into his new school and home.

Peter felt really upset but he didn’t want to lie to his son so he thought he was doing the best for him by telling him.

Peter arrived at a secret location where he was introduced to Vinnie Paterson.

“Hi I’m Detective Peter Baker, I will be helping you through your witness protection program until you are transported out of the country.

“Thank” replied Vinnie.

“Don’t sound too pleased about it then” Peter joked trying to cheer Vinnie up.

“So what will you be doing with me?” asked a curious Vinnie.

“Well until you are moved somewhere else you have my company for 24 hours a day” said Peter.

“Ok but what about the uniform over there” asked Vinnie

“He is about to clock off then it’s just me and you”

The office in uniform left so Peter and Vinnie was alone.

“So why are you doing this” asked Vinnie.

“It’s my job mate but I can tell you I would rather be with my son”

“I know I had a lovely wife and a son back at home”

“Leah was her name wasn’t it?” asked Peter.

“Yeah mate she is absolutely gorgeous”

“I seen her at the court case, you seemed inlove the way she acted when you was sentenced” said Peter.

“Have you got a woman in your life mate?” asked Vinnie.

“It’s complicated, recently I found out I had a 13 year old son so my life is kind of on hold”

“VJ is only 3 he is just like me” laughed Vinnie.

“Peter how long do you think I will be in witness for?”

“It all depends we are hoping everything goes well and well within three months you can go back home”

Three weeks later

“Vinnie I have some news” Peter said as he sat on the chair

“You are being moved this afternoon, then you will be in witness protection,” explained Peter

“I better pack my bags2 said Vinnie as he walked to his room.

Vinnie looked at the photo of Leah and Vj as he collected his belongings.

Vinnie looked at Peter as he held his bags in front of him.

“Mate I hope it goes well and I promise I will see you soon” said Peter as he stepped forward and hugged Vinnie.

“Vinnie looked at Peter and said “Here is the photo of Leah and VJ, please keep it until I see them again, and please make sure they stay safe”

“Of course mate” Peter said as he took the photo from Vinnie then placed in into his wallet.

Vinnie was escorted out from the house and Peter sat on the sofa thinking about Drew.

Peter was now officially off duty now Vinnie has left so he decided to go and see Drew at school.

Peter arrived at Drew’s school when he spotted him walking from the soccer pitch.

“Drew” Peter shouted as he headed towards him.

“What are you doing here” asked Drew.

“I have come to see you” replied Peter hoping that him and Drew could talk.

“Why you have’nt spoke to me in three weeks, you dumped me in this crap hole and expect me to talk to you, ow yeah I forgot to tell you. I never want to see you again or have anything to do with you as you can’t even tell your own family I exist,” said Drew as he shoved past Peter and headed over to his friends.

Peter watched as Drew walked further and further away, he knew deep down even if he tried he couldn’t make Drew like him so he walked back and got in his car.

1 month later

Peter was getting on with his work at the station when Super Intendant Murphy entered.

“Peter can I have a word” asked Murphy.

“Sure” replied Peter as he pointed to the chair.

“Well I’ll get straight to the point, There is a position

Posted at Yabbie Creek station, near Summer Bay.

Their has been a death and I wanted to know if you would like to take a semi permanent position their?” asked Murphy.

Peter started to think about Drew not wanting him and Peter not having anything tieing him to the station so he quickly replied, “Yes sure”

“Ok Well pack your belomgings here and get straight down to the station they will be expecting you”

Peter stood up and shook Murphys hand before getting excited about his move as he started to pack his stuff.

Well you know what happened after this point Don’t you lol!!!

I would write more but I am currently working on a brand new fic (With Peter in by the way ow and Tracey and…..
