Post title: Knitty-Easter

Or "How I got more yarn on Mastercard"

This is only my second knitting project. My first was a too wide and way too long scarf. It'll be turned into a large black/pink-striped stuffed toy-snake soon.

So, I've been really stressed about getting that last skein of yarn I finally managed to hunt it down yesterday. It seems every store here are sold out.

So, without further ado, on to the photos.

Each of the individual pieces

Back w/ lid, front and strap.

After I sewed it together. My 12" iBook fit in there no problem. It was big enough to fit even more - a couple of books + iBook most likely.

So, what did I do? I decided to felt it. I'd read so many places to you should be able to stretch it to the size you wanted it while it was still wet, or just make it wet again and stretch it then. No body dare say that. :P

After felting. I managed to stretch the strap to a semi-decent length.

Please excuse the crappy colors. I didn't bother setting the BW on the camera since I most of the time use PS to change it anyway on the RAW images... I shot these in plain jpg and the color balance didn't do much, I'm afraid.

This whole felting-issue made me call The Boyfriend to ask if he thought the local store would accept Mastercard. He said he'd assume so and after picking him up from work today we stopped by the mall and got more yarn. Yay! I wish every store would accept Mastercard. Nice to have something to keep my busy. I've started another bag with another type of yarn (Sandnesgarn's "Fritidsgarn", 100% wool, but on 5mm needles and it's got a whole different texture).

The small bag made The Boyfriend laugh, though, so that's good.

I still don't know how to purl. Ok, I know how to, I just don't manage to do it. Irony, huh?

Wow!! That's really good. Last summer I bought some knitting stuff but haven't got anywhere with it. It's been nearly a year. What a waste of money. Anyway, I thought I'd join the knitting club at school. (sounds sad I know but the number of people going was huge) It seems everyone has been swept into the knitting craze. The teacher who does it knits at every given opportunity. She's obsessed!! Just wondering are you teaching yourself or have been taught. I'm wondering because I really want to get into it and teach myself but it's really hard. There's some websites but they're so hard to understand. Anyway keep up the awesome work. All your work is really good. Well Done. Post more pics after you've done more. I'd love to see more. Keep it up. It's a great skill to learn.

I've taught myself how to do it. I just got a great book from a friend, though, "Stitch'n bitch" by Debbie Stoller :)

Thanks for the feedback!
