Very nice bag, Mar.

Tom went for his yearly DMD MOT today.

Let the fun begin

... x-ray...

They only wanted me to pick him out his wheelchair onto the x-ray table, yeah right!! not happening, I refused. So they had to ajust the x-ray requests, by just doing two seprate x-rays of his back, missing the other requests out completly.

...Growth and measurement...

Goes in, they look at us and said can you take his top and jeans off and put him on the scales  they make you laugh don't they!!. What part of he is sitting in a sling and is wheelchair bound don't they get!! :( .

He is 152cm/5ft 2 aprox, they could not get his arms straight enough so he is prob abt 154/5ft 4 .

...Respiratory assesment...

He did his normal test make the chewing gum bubble burst. He did this at least once. Then he and a few new tests.

...Three wise men  ... and co...

They chatted and disgused with us both abt his results, they are happy with how things are going. One doctor said his DMD is well behaved (well his DMD knew whats was good for it otherwise  ). He is waiting for appoitment to have scans on his heart and kidneys, due to his recent kidney infection.

They just need to get him some equipment, for at home then we ok!!

They found a hoist that is ok for Toms sling on one of the wards , so they got thsi info written on his x-ray requests and for all the other reasons why they need him out of his chair. Tehy should have the hoist from the ward for next time.

He will be moving into the adult section  (dreading it) of the NHS when he is between 17 and 18. They are just sorting out the finer details of trying to find the right doctors, nurses etc...
