MarMar Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 I've been patiently waiting for the doctor's office to get back to me. I wanted to book an appointment online, just like they want us to do, and the form even said "e-mail address for reply", so I thought it was all good, I wouldn't have to use the phone to get an appointment (I could drive the 10-15 minutes it takes to get to the doctor's office to book the appointment, but apparently people who do that are weird). So why did they just call me? This made me freak out and call The Boyfriend to ask what I should do about it. I didn't notice the call till a few minutes later, as I never have the sounds on. He said I should just call back and that no one was gonna bite me through the phone. I know that, but as someone over at a Asperger's LJ-community said, I have never been good with strangers out of my "comfort zone", and being on the phone with someone (except The Boyfriend) is definitely not something my "comfort zone" allows for me to do. But, I eventually called them back, and they didn't pick up the phone. The Boyfriend said I should call back again, and leave it calling for more than a minute this time. Easy for him, I say, he's not the one who gets nauseas from being on the phone with strangers. All in all, I'm happy that I at least tried to call them back. It's really hard, believe it or not.
Pierced Musie Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 That is a massive step darling. Even I haven't managed to make that step yet ! And going to the docs to book an appointment is not weird. I do it that way because I can't use the phone without shaking and feeling sick
MarMar Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 I'm going to uni on Wednesday, so I might as well pop by on the way home.
Pierced Musie Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 Phoning the docs is a waste of time, unless you ring first thing in the morning
MarMar Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 Their telephone hours are 2 hours in the early afternoon. That's when they called me. They called me once more and upon calling them back, 2 minutes afterwards, I was told that the phones were closed.
