Next part:

As the two of them headed home, Zoe stopped at Tracey's gate and hugged her goodbye.

"Bye hun. Take care of yourself," Zoe said, smiling.

"Later Zoe. Take care too."

Waving goodbye, Tracey pushed through the gate and stopped at the letterbox.

She pulled out a handful of letters. "Bills, bills, bills- ooh. A letter for me."

Clearly the letter was from Peter. She recognised his handwriting.

Putting the other letters under her arm and ripping the top of Peter's letter open, she rushed. I wanna see what he's writing to me for, Tracey thought, blushing.

Pulling the note out anxiously, her eyes wandered over the words:

Dear Tracey,

I'm just gonna write you a quick letter. 'Has nothing to do with anything, but

thought i'd just show you a little love through mail. Hope you're doing okay- the dance

was awesome. Maybe if you give me a call later we might be able to catch up sometime

Lots of love, Peter xx.

The rest of the letter verified Peter's landline number. Underneath was his mobile number.

Quivering with affection, Tracey skipped up the steps and into the house.

After the weekend during school, the entire class was swarming with groaning students, preparing themselves for another week of schoolwork.

Deliberately sitting next to Tracey in English, John shifted comfortably in his chair.

Tracey, whispering to Zoe on her left, sat up immediately when Mrs Fletcher entered.

John winked at Tracey. Deep down, he was disgusted at Clare's annoying plans. He had handed in the essay she had written in return for him, and Mrs Fletcher was examining it right now.

Her eyes wandered over the page. "Lovely..lovely.." she mumbled. " John, did you write this yourself?"

"Yeah."

Clare sighed and watched John, signalling him to carry on with flirting with Tracey.

"Nicely written out. I'm impressed," the teacher said. "Now can we all start getting our folders out?"

He turned and smiled at Tracey. Tracey made a face and looked away. "Freak," she said under her breath.

"Turn to page 12 in your books," the teacher ordered. Everyone did so, and the page-flipping noise blew over the room.

Tracey sighed and leaned to her right to pull her book out of her bag.

"Hey, cutie." John laughed. Inside, he felt totally sick. The game he was playing wasnt pleasant at all.

Tracey looked up at him and frowned. "Loser." she said hastily and then hoisted herself back into her seat and began flipping into the pages.

He really wanted to back out of the whole thing. The fact that he was being told to hit on someone he wanted only as friends with, sickened him.

"John? Are you with us?" Mrs Fletcher gave him a look that said: "ATTENTION!"

The class turned to face him. "Yes, miss."

Sighing and turning back to the book, Sally began to read aloud the exercises given.

"Now, off to work. If you're not finished by this class, I want to see it by the end of tomorrow's class."

Tracey went to work.

Rachel thundered through her work as if the answers were instantly mapped out in her head.

"What a nerd- hehe!!" Tracey giggled and picked up her pencil.

She ripped a piece of refill out from behind her book and scribbled roughly on it:

"Peter sent me a letter via mail. He says i should ring him if i wanna catch up"

She folded it into a small square and slapped it lightly onto Zoe's desk.

Glancing up, she was grateful the teacher hadn't noticed.

Zoe spat out a laugh when she had unfolded the note. She put her head down to reply at the back of the paper.

Slapping that onto Tracey's desk she giggled and continued her worksheet.

"Wanna catch up after school, cutie?" John eyed Tracey up and down.

"No, I don't. And will you stop calling me that and make use of my birth name please?"

"Come on babe. I'm loaded. I'll buy ya whatever you want."

"Money can't buy a girl's interest. So will you just get lost?"

She waited impatiently for Zoe finish up in the lockers. This guy was starting to seriously harrass her and she wanted away- immediately.

He reached for her hand. She pulled away.

"Scram, idiot!" she screamed.

"Hey- what are you doing?" Zoe struggled to be released from Clare's grip.

"I just wanna hang out for a little while," Clare said quietly.

"Well- why? it's not like we're mates or anything! OW! You're hurting me!"

"Shh! Peter will be here any minute! I just wanna have some fun, Zoe." Clare pinned Zoe's body to the wall and pressed her own body up against Zoe's.

"John! Let go! What are you doing?"

John had Tracey's hands in a powerful grip. Now he was leaning forward to kiss her.

The entire school was empty as it was after school. Tracey knew Peter must be behind in band practice, but everytime she made an attempt to call his name, her mouth would be replaced by a strong hand.

"John- OUCH- mmph..."

His lips were on her's now, cutting her voice short.

Though she tried to shake free, he was too strong for her.

"Tracey- what on earth are you doing?"

Tracey's eyes snapped toward her left. Peter stood there. He was breathing hard, but his eyes were watering to death. "Tracey.."

"Mmpph- GET OFF ME!" She shoved John off angrily. He just flew off, laughing.

"Peter no wait- he- abused me.." Her voice cut off, and she uttered a sad sound from deep in her throat.

Peter sighed. "Forget it. I knew we weren't meant."

"Peter no! wait!" Tracey was crying now, though Peter paid no attention.

He stormed away in a huff, his head flooded with powerful questions in why he had hooked up with Tracey in the first place.

Tracey stopped running, seeing no point in going after him. She fell to her knees and burst into complete tears. Hot drops spilled down her cheeks.

John snickered and jogged away toward the toilets.

"Ooh- I do love a girl on girl action," he said, as he approached Clare and Zoe.

"Let's go!" Clare gasped.

John and her ran away as fast as they could.

Zoe, meanwhile, had been pressed up against the wall.

Harrassed. Her zip was halfway down, and she was near to loud crying. Her eyes were ever watery, and she just stood there shaking in horror.

Clare is such a cow!! Can't believe she did what she did!

Superb writing!! Btw, I know you're totally wanting me to hate Clare and it's working. I hope she gets her just desserts and Zoe and Tracey will smack her!!

Sure hun. Hehe! Heres the next update:

Sobbing quietly, Zoe stumbled a step.

She reached behind her and pulled her zip up angrily. "What the f*** was that?" she screamed.

She kicked the basin in front of her.

Sniffing back a tear, she walked slowly out of the lockers' entrance where she found Tracey on both knees on the concrete.

"Tracey.."

Sniffing loudly and breathing hard, her teary eyed friend glanced up to meet eyes with her.

Zoe felt so raged, sad and confused all at once.

What on earth was that in the bathrooms with Clare? Why is my best friend crying so badly..

Placing a comforting hand on Tracey's shoulder, Zoe knelt down next to her and wrapped her arms around her.

"Pete hates me..John forced me to kiss him..." Tracey uttered.

Zoe sighed and squeezed Tracey into a tighter hug. "Clare basically did the same thing to me. She pushed me up against the wall and-" she cut herself short and swallowed.

"Zoe- its okay." Tracey turned around and kissed Zoe on the cheek. Then she pulled herself up, Zoe with her.

Zoe brushed herself off and sighed.

"I think we should go to Mrs Fletcher," she whispered, cutting the silence off.

"Please Zoe- not yet."

"Why the hell not?"

"Just..I don't need everyone on our cases at the moment."

Zoe sighed again. Why was she so soft?

"Fine. Sure. Whatever. I just don't think we should let those two get off scot-free."

"Me neither. I knew the two of them had something cooked up."

Breathing hard and laughing, Clare stopped at the side of the road.

"Well that sucked," John said.

"No it didn't. You 'got some'. And now Pete hates Tracey. Aww this is so fun, torturing Tracey like this."

"You're being abnormally unfair."

"You are SUCH a wuss. Snap out of it!"

"Whatever. That sucked totally. I HATED doing all of that to Tracey."

"You hated it so much you decided to make comments on the little girl on girl scene in the lockers," Clare snapped at him.

John swallowed. "I just think we should apologize."

"Noo way buster. I came this far, im not giving up." And that was that.

Peter picked up his bag and threw it over his shoulder.

Charging angrily through the streets by himself, his head once again flooded with the scene of John's lips on Tracey's.

Rage and anger clogged up his brain. "You are to give Tracey another chance. She was FORCED to kiss him." a voice in his head said.

"Maybe so...I just need time to chill." he stopped at a near cafe and ordered a mocha.

When his steaming beverage was made, he took it gratefully, paid, and seated himself. " Imagine what this world would be without girls," he said quietly. "Peaceful and less heart-breaking." He took another sip of the hot liquid and sighed. "A world of paradise."

"Hun- Zoe please. You'll be okay."

Standing outside Tracey's house after walking back from school, the two of them stood wrestling around.

Tracey tried to separate the strong grips Zoe had on her arms, but it was no use.

"Zoe!"

"Tracey please can i stay the night at your house?"

"Zoe- ohhhhh! Ok ok just wait here, ok?"

Zoe nodded, swallowing.

Tracey flew up the stairs and into the front door. It was locked.

Poking her head into an open window, she spotted her mother messing around in the kitchen. "Mum! Zoe's gonna stay the night- is that ok?"

"Sure whatever. I wont be around though. I'll be at a work meeting til at lease 3 in the morning then ill be spending the rest of my sleep at my mate's. So you two are responsible for getting to school on time- sensibly."

"Mum whatever. Ok thanks."

Tracey raced down the stairs and opened the gate. Zoe walked in slowly.

"Yeah you can stay. You can use the spare bed in my room, k?"

"Ok- thanks heaps Tracey."

"Don't mention it."

The pair of them played around on Tracey's computer for a few hours, trying to distract themselves from their own minds. Both of them knew it would be hard to push it away but they had to keep trying.

Giving up on trying to sink the submarine ships, Tracey and Zoe made their way toward the kitchen.

Tracey pulled out a can of coke and tossed one to Zoe.

"I'm off you two- please behave and i'll see you soon." Tracey's mother rushed in, waved to them both and rushed out in a jiff.

Taking a sip of her coke, Zoe said "We'll be okay."

"Of course we will," Tracey assured her. She smiled and put her hand on her shoulder.

Waking up the next morning, Tracey yawned loudly and her arms flew up above her as she stretched.

Noises of bird chirping from the outside world filled the air. More sunlight streamed into the bedroom.

"Ahhhhhh!!!!! Morning Zoe!"

"Yawwwwwwwwwwwwn! Morning Tracey-ARGH! What have you got on your face?!" Zoe shrieked.

"Huh?"

Jumping out of bed anxiously, Tracey rushed to the mirror to see what all the fuss was based on.

Rubbing the side of her cheek and gapping at her reflection, her mouth went dry.

The word 'guilty', in permanant marker, had been repeatedly scribbled across every square inch of her face.
