Yeah the thing about sleeping with random women is skanky! Why did they turn HotDad into a sl*t?!

That wasn't who he was when he arrived and isn't who he is now no matter how much they try and make him that way for the sake of storylines. The joke is over now... this better be the last time it happens... or else! :P

There is an argument that without storylines like that ^ then he would be boring and I agree to a certain extent. But there are so many more different storylines they could give him... with a little imagination. Kicking him out of the school was a bit mistake in my book but it's not too late to fix that.......

As for 'misjudging' Rachel... that was a bit stupid as well.... everything was manipulated for the cliffhanger and SBO thing. I don't think for one minute that he or Leah would have believed that she would have run off with Hugh. And there is no way they would have taken into account what Jimmy had to say.

I agree with you completely Karen. A lot of what has happened recently between Rachel and Tony has been completely manipulated for the sake of the Olympic Cliffhanger, storylines have been created that are completely out of character. For example, Tony not only sleeping with Bridget but staying with her (which pretty much indicates that "it" happened more than once) just because he "thought" Rachel left him was just stupid, yes he did it before but Beth had actually died and he was grieving. There was no real evidence that Rachel had left him for Hugh, she didn't reply to the emails he sent her or anything she'd left her laptop there plugged in and turned on and it's out of character for her to stand him up after what happened with Sally. It is for this reason that I'm willing to let Tony off haha. I don't personally believe Rachel ever showed signs of not wanting to actually get married, she was just obviously overworked, a couple of days earlier she was trying to get Tony into bed for baby making! It was all just, as you said, manipulated for the cliffhanger.

And Charlene, I don't believe Rachel ever slept with Hugh just to get back at Kim I believe she genuinely loved him because he showed her attention that she wasn't getting from her husband. At first I think Kim was honestly trying to make the best of the situation and was torn but after a while it was obvious he felt for Kit more and Rachel knew that. But anyway....this is the Tony thread! I

t is a shame they've done this to his character but I'm going to let it slide because I think it was completely for the cliffhanger :D And I'd love him to get his job back at the school, he's so good with the kids and has helped so many like Geoff, it would be really good for him. Give him more interesting storylines to! As long as they don't do to him what they started doing to Rachel which is just giving her "doctor" storylines where her 2/3 episodes a week were spent being doctor to the other main characters.

Jon portrays his character brilliantly from scenes needing happiness to guiltiness and anything in between - you can read him like a book. He brings life to HotDad and adds many qualities too such as the nervousness when he really likes some, his brilliant facial expressions to show various feelings and his wonderful use of intonations of his voice depending on the scene.

I feel that more depth is needed in the character though. Sure we've seen the womanising side of Tony, which personally has been overdone, and also the caring side of Tony. There needs to be more scenes with Jack, Geoff, Annie and maybe even a few with Ruby, Melody or even with Belle giving some "fatherly advice" or even just lending a listening ear. Now that's the Tony we all know and love along with his athletic prowess.

HotDad needs a juicy storyline too - I'd like to see him organise something whether it be a marathon, cross country race, a swim carnival or even a few gym sessions with the high school students. I'd also like to see him go back to working at the school as the sports teacher (in between his shifts at the gym and the bar). He also really needs a hobby, apart from surfing, or even something outdoors that shows off his muscles and his agility. Anything but for him to fade into the background again because it's wonderful seeing HotDad in the limelight - with or without stubble. :D

That's not a good sign at all! :P It might be because Jon is only 13 years older than Paul so it's difficult to remember that they have a father/son relationship! Or it might be the lack of scenes they have together these days!

I know I sound like a stuck record but Tony getting his job back at the school is definately the way to go. He has no other source of storylines apart from Rachel and Jack. He could still keep the gym and just put a manager in. The gym gives him nothing... absolutely diddly squat! They can't even give him a sexual harassment storyline as they have already done it with Kim! He would be wrongly accused of course, HotDad would never do such a thing! :P

I wish we could see more of Tony the footie coach too.... I miss that. He is obviously still their coach but Geoff has been preoccupied with other matters recently. I wonder if Aden ever got back into the team. Actually that has got me thinking.... I wonder how Tony will feel about Aden now considering that he kidnapped his fiance on his wedding day! The last time we saw them they were chatting happily in the background at Mattie's farewell (Although that was probably just Jon and Todd talking and they forgot that the characters were meant to hate each other!)

I want to see more of Tony and Irene's friendship too.

I think Aden was too injured from his various near-death experiences to play anymore. I don't know what Geoff's story is. I think they just forgot that he was good enough to play professional football. Annie's a potential sprinter now, so maybe they're done with Geoff.

There may be an opening at the school soon. If Miles gets in trouble over Ruby they might fire him and then ask Tony to come back, seeing as there would be no other adults from the main cast to carry school scenes. What I would like is for Dan to come back from the dead. It's a soap - I know they can do it. It hurts seeing Tim sink lower and lower and lower... But that's a story for another thread...

It would be nice to see more Gym scenes anyway. Kim always had something to do and someone to talk to. Did everyone suddenly get lazy when he left? Maybe the writers are just shying away from it now that Neighbours has their own Gym, and a footy team that actually trains and plays games and has invested support. Neighbours is wonderful like that... Tony should move to Ramsay Street. He'd be much happier there. And he should take Lucas with him to make the transition more interesting. Yes, that will do nicely.

Now there's an idea..... if Tony went to Ramsey Street where would he live, who would he hook up with?!

I think he and Rebecca would make a nice couple or even Steph! He could take Lucas with him, I would be happy with that too, but not Jack. I would make him have a daughter, about Mickey/Declan's age. How would we explain the no wife thing though... I think another wife dying on him would be too much so maybe she ran off with another man (or woman!) and left him and their kids.

I like this idea, and it is keeping me amused sat here on a boring Saturday afternoon with a hangover! :P

Oh, Tony and Rebecca - make my heart do a little somersault of joy why don't you ?

He could protect her from Paul, but he's too nice to really understand when Paul's being mean and sarcastic, and it would be cute to watch Tony trying to figure it out, and then Rebecca would have to end up protecting HIM from Paul's taunting, and it would just be so sweet to watch. And he'd look after Declan like Paul was supposed to, and then Paul can get jealous of that too...

Meanwhile, Lucas would be making "friends" with Ringo...
