Chapter 18

Ric’s P.O.V

“Ric we are going to have to go in we have been out looking for her for 20 hours now, we are all exhausted we have to let your granddad and the rest of the staff look while we go back and get some rest” Tony says resting his hand on my shoulder,

“Tony I can’t rest I can’t go back not until I have Matilda in my arms, I need to find her, surely you don’t want to leave her out here I mean this is Matilda we are talking about the daughter of your girlfriend how can you leave her” I say throwing my arms up in the air in frustration,

“Ric you know I want nothing more than to find her but we are no good when we are tired like this we haven’t slept in about thirty six hours now none of us are any good when we are so restless, we can go home get a few hours sleep and return out when we are in a fit state to do so” he says

“Ok ok” I say reluctantly as I walk back to Jack’s car with Tony, Lucas, Jack and Kim I really didn’t want to leave but Tony was right we was exhausted although I can’t see myself getting much sleep when I return home.

“Oh Ric come here you look exhausted” Sally says as I walk into the house half an hour later, walking over to her I sit by her on the settee as she watches over Pippa playing on the floor,

“I just want to find her Sal I don’t know what I’d do without her” I say tears welling up in my eyes as I think about her out there with him, in pain, in danger, alone with the person she hates most in this world the person I hate most in this world,

“oh Ric it’ll be ok they’ll find her” Sally says throwing her arms around me, my tears start to run freely from my eyes,

“Ric, why are you crying?” I hear Pippa’s gentle voice say as I feel her hand fall onto my knee,

“It’s ok pip I’m just a bit upset” I say softly wiping at my eyes before lifting her up onto my knee,

“don’t cry” she says innocently looking up at me as she snuggles against me.

Matilda’s P.O.V

“Ric, mum” I murmur softly opening my eyes groggily my whole body aching, as I look up at the room around me not recognising it, it is then when it all comes running back to me,

“I see my princess has woken up then” I hear his voice say

“I’m not your princess Callan” I say curling into a ball, and shutting my eyes as I fight back the tears I don’t want to look at him,

“come on Mattie I’ve braught you some food” he says as I feel the bed shift underneath me,

“I’m not taking any food from you” I snap coldly, besides the fact that I didn’t feel like eating with what I’m going through right now, I refuse to take anything from him I don’t know what’s in it, I don’t know anything how long I’ve been here how long I’ve been out cold all that I know is that I need to get back home to mum and to Ric.
