He kept walking and walking until he couldn’t walk any more. Yet, the more he kept on watching the more he had a sudden urge to stop. He did just that. He had no idea where he was or what laid before and behind him. As he opened his eyes he saw his memorial plaque standing before him.

Pete’s heart was breaking. Everything in Summer Bay reminded him of his mistakes; even his faked death that had caused everyone so much heartache. Deep down, he knew going into Witness Protection was out of his control but that didn’t stop him from thinking it was all down to his job and getting his cover blown. Hurting his family seemed like the one thing that he was good at. He really tried. He really tried to stop hurting the people he love, but no matter what he did, he ended up hurting them; which hurt him even more inside.

As he thought more about his mistakes, tears filled up inside and he dropped to his knees. He rested himself against his memorial plaque and slowly closed his eyes.

“Peter. Peter, are you ok?” Martha said as she shook Pete who was fast asleep by his plaque.

Pete opened his eyes as he tried to shoo her away.

“Leave me alone!” he yelled at her and he rested back on his plaque.

Martha tried to get Pete to go home but he wasn’t moving so she decided to give Jack a call.

Martha looked over at Pete who clearly wasn’t himself. Jack arrived and he was really starting to worry about Peter. He had never ever seen him like this. Pete was one of his best friends. Something really serious must have happened for Peter to be in that state of mind.

Jack smiled at Martha as he headed over to Pete.

“Peter, it's Jack. Wake up.”

Pete opened his eyes as he felt Jack tugging at his arm.

“Leave me alone!” he yelled.

Pete tried to pull away but Jack wasn’t having any of it. He managed to pull Pete to his feet as he saw Pete start to get really wound up.

“Get off me!” he shouted.

“No! I am not going to leave you here like this!” Jack shot back at him.

As Pete was arguing with Jack, Drew watched from a distance.

Pete started to get angry because Jack wouldn’t leave him alone.

“Get off me now!” Pete yelled as he pushed Jack.

Jack was shocked. He didn’t know what to do except to stand in front of Pete, stunned by his actions. Drew couldn’t believe his eyes. He couldn’t bear to watch anymore. He looked at Martha before racing back to the house.

Pete looked at Jack with an angry look on his face before heading off in the opposite direction to Martha and Jack. Jack was about to go after him when Martha said:

“Leave him to cool off.”

As Pete stormed off down his road, he bumped into a wheelie bin, which he threw across the road in anger.

While he was walking down the road really quickly, he heard his mobile phone ring. He reached into his pocket and grabbed his phone. Looking at the caller ID, he found that the number wasn’t stored in his phone so he decided to answer.

“Hello?” Pete said angrily down the phone.

“Stop right there. Don’t look around. Stay still. Listen. We have something of yours.”

Pete was confused as started to take in what he had just been told.

“Who is this? What do you want? I don't have time to play these sick little games with you! Go find someone else!” he yelled.

Pete waited for some answers from the mystery person who clearly stated,

“If you want it, come and get it. Old Green Lane, the old house in 10 minutes else you will lose her.”

“What?!” he yelled down the phone but it was too late. The line had gone dead.

As he started to think about what they had just said, Drew came rushing to his mind. 'What if? Surely they can’t. Sally, Dan.' The people closest to him came to his mind what if ther lives were in danger. Peter tried redialling the number but no luck as it was withheld. Pete took a deep breath as he looked at the time. He had about 13 minutes to make it to the old house at Green Lane. And it was over a mile away, but Pete was determined to get there before his time ran out.

As he stood back, he dropped to the ground as a gun shot was fired. He dropped in shock and he heard a car driving off. He picked himself up and raced into the house.

As he looked in the kitchen he couldn’t see anything so he walked into another room were he was faced with a body lying a few metres away. Lifeless.

Peter dropped the gun as he turned to face Jack and Lara.

“Positive.”

Hmm... I don't know. I wonder.... Could be Sal... Seeing as that she and Pete were together. After all, Peter has a habit of fathering kids that he doesn't know of anyway.

Good spotting about Sally. Who knows, miracle baby? After all, 'Anything can happen in Summer Bay.' Poor Clare.... Pregnant again.... How sad would that be? Peter would be devastated.
