Hmmm, maybe i should change it to Wentworth Miller... Jack and Martha will still be happy... I promise! But in order for there to be more fluff there needs to be some drama to lead to the fluff... only because i love seeing Jack be all protective and everything... lol. ChapterFourtyNine: (Part One) Jack walked along the busy city street, clutching a small shopping bag. He was almost skipping. He was so happy about how things had gone so far with Martha, and he couldn’t wait for the night ahead. But for the moment, he had some police business to take care of. He walked up the steps of the huge Police Headquarters building and walked up to the main desk. “Gidday,” said the constable behind the desk. “How can I help you mate?” “Hi, I’m Constable Jack Holden from the Yabbie Creek Police Station, I was just wondering if I could talk to someone about a case I’m working on?” “What brings you all the way here Holden?” the guy asked. “You could’ve easily just called.” “Umm, yeah, but I was in the city anyway on a trip and I just thought…” The guy sat down at his computer. “Who do you want to talk to?” “Well I’m not entirely sure, see the case is about a girl. Nina Rogers? There was an incident with her last year…” “At the school, yeah I remember…I remember it well,” the constable said typing away. “Well the best person to talk to is the guy in charge of the inquiry which was DS Nathan Owens.” “Nathan Owens?” Jack said surprised. “Yeah, Do you know him?” “Well he was down in Yabbie Creek not long ago.” “Too bad… you could’ve asked him then. Saved you all this trouble. He’s upstairs, third floor. You won’t miss him.” Jack thanked the constable and got into the elevator. Something was not making sense, but he was interested in what Nathan had to say. When he got out he saw Nathan sitting in one of the offices. He knocked on the door and Nathan looked up. “Hi Detective, I’m not sure if you remember me…?” said Jack Nathan stood up and shook Jack’s hand. “Of course I do, Jack Holden from Yabbie Creek Police Station. Darren told me a lot about you. What brings you here?” “Acutally, I wanted to talk to you about a case you were in charge of. Nina Rogers ring a bell?” Nathan laughed and sat back in his chair. “Nina, yeah. This is about the school right? You know the files are sealed on that Constable. I can’t really say much about it.” “Look anything that you can tell me, I’d greatly appreciate it.” “What’s this about? She’s not causing any trouble is she?” “Well, no. She hasn’t yet. I’d just like to be prepared if she does.” Nathan smiled and grabbed a toy football that was sitting on his desk. “Well… she was arrested for the incident at the school and brought back here where I talked to her. She claimed it was self defence, the guy actually pulled the gun on her, they struggled, when he dropped the gun, she picked it up. End of story. That’s why she was never charged.” “What, that’s it?” Jack said puzzled. “Look, we conducted a very thorough investigation, and her story checked out. That arrest should never have been put on her record, the constable that did that made a mistake.” “What happened to the other guy?” Jack asked. “Well he was known drug dealer at the school,” said Nathan. “When we interviewed them, we found some gear on him and he was charged for that. Nothing ever really eventuated from the rest of it…” Jack wasn’t convinced. “So why are her files sealed? I mean if it was nothing…” “Jack, I don’t make those decisions,” said Nathan. “Listen, I’ve been dealing with Nina and her brother for a few years now, if they do anything dodgy in Summer Bay, you give me call alright?” He handed Jack his card. “We’ve been looking to get them for a while now… but the both of them are sweet talkers. Don’t deal with them on your own. They’re dangerous.” Jack stood up and thanked him. “I’ll call you if they do anything” Jack told him. “It was good to see you mate. Good Luck aye?” said Nathan. When he saw Jack get into the elevator, Nathan quickly picked up his phone. “Yeah it’s me,” he whispered into the phone. “Where are you? We need to meet up later. Look, someone’s sniffing around. You need to lay low or I can’t protect you. Someone will catch on to me soon enough…” Jack waited down on the first floor and quickly sent a text message on his phone. He looked at his watch and thought about Martha. His phone beeped and he quickly checked his message. “Will meet up with you later at the hotel. 'Cause seriously if she was it'll make my day I dont like Brad Pitt, why not someone like Adam Brody His a hottie and just about the same age at Jack Anyways, dont like Nathan, and he better not do anything to Jack or Martha.
