Jackyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!! Dont die, please dont die. Stupid Nathan, i bet he did it, or Ashton  or Kelly  But Nina has the same drug in her, so maybe it was Nathan, coz he did say that he needed to get Jack off the scene or something, so maybe he drugged Jack so he doesnt work on the Nina/Jake case. :D Great chapter though

Please update soon :D

I love all your comments, you all are pretty much on the mark. Ohhh, I'm thinking that someone needs to die... I'll think about it and see how I can fit it in... I'm so bored so here's another "filler".

ChapterFiftyNine:

Matilda wrapped her arms around Rocco as they walked down the beach. Rocco smiled. He had never been able to get close to anyone before because of the hold that the gang had over him, but he didn’t care about them anymore. At that moment in time, Matilda meant everything to him.

“So do you think your Mum will ever get used to the idea of us?” Rocco asked her.

“She will eventually,” Matilda grinned at him. “I mean, once she realises what a cute and caring guy you really are, she might want to go out with you.”

Rocco laughed. “Well that will definitely never happen then... I’m not Drew Curtis…”

They both giggled. “I’m really glad that we’re together,” Rocco said seriously. “I’ve never felt this way about anyone before in my whole life.”

“I’m glad too,” Matilda said holding him closer to her. They sat down on the sand and talked for a while. Rocco didn’t say much, he just listened to Matilda talk about the things that had happened to her. He loved the softness of her voice, he could listen to her talk for ages.

“Hey, I might go and grab some drinks.” Matilda said getting up. “You want to come?”

Rocco looked up the beach and saw Beth entering the diner. “Umm, nah” he said trying to be causal. “I think I might just wait here. I’ll keep an eye on our stuff.” He looked out at the calm sea draping itself on the sand and smiled to himself. His thoughts were interrupted when someone grabbed him from behind and had him in a head lock.

Rocco struggled, but he felt the person’s grip loosen and Rocco turned around to see who it was.

Johnny sat down beside him. “Hey mate,” he said patting Rocco on the back. “Wasn’t interrupting anything was I?”

“Oh what do you want Johnny?” Rocco said angrily.

“I just wanted to spend some time with my little brother” he smirked. “Time we had a catch up don’t you think?”

“You’re not getting me back in the gang Johnny, I told you that I’m out.”

“And what did I tell you?” Johnny’s voice changed from the light hearted sarcasm to his angry threatening tone. “You don’t want anything to happen to your girlfriend do you?”

“Leave her out of this…” begged Rocco.

“I will…” Johnny frowned. “But you have to start doing as I tell ya. Understand?”

Rocco shook his head and gritted his teeth. “Johnny, I’m your brother. Why are you doing this to me?”

Johnny bit his lip as he searched for an answer. “You don’t just walk away from your family Roc. It’s not that simple.”

“But Johnny…”

“No buts Roc.” Johnny said shaking his head. “You should know better than anyone. You’re helping us with the job and that’s it. I don’t want to hurt you or your friends, but if it’s what I need to do to get through to you…

“You told Nina, that you’d leave me and Maddie alone, what happened to that?” said Rocco.

“Yeah well it’s too bad Nina didn’t follow through isn’t it?” Johnny stood up and put his hands on Rocco’s shoulders. “See you on Saturday mate. You better be ready.”

Rocco sighed as he watched Johnny walk past Matilda who was heading back to him.

“What did he want?” Matilda asked worried.

“Nothing…’ Rocco lied. “He was just saying hi.” Matilda was sceptical about his answer but she let it slide.

“Rocco, you can tell me anything you know…” she said quietly. “I mean that’s if you want to. I am your girlfriend…”

“Yeah, I know…” Rocco smiled. “Honestly it’s nothing. Johnny’s out of my life now. It’s just you and me from now on.”

Thanks everyone for your comments. :D I'm glad you guys like the Rocco and Matilda stuff. I like writing it as I think they are both really sweet and caring characters. I was a bit bored, so i decided to write something...

ChapterSixty:

“Drink this Mac,” Tony said handing Martha a cup of coffee. “It might help.”

Martha managed a small smile and gently took the cup. She put her hands around the cup and felt the warmness sink into her cold hands. “I can’t believe this is happening,” she sobbed.

Tony sat down and put his arm around her. “Everything is going to be fine,” he hushed. “He’s my son, he’s your husband. He has every reason to keep fighting to live.”

That made the tears from Martha’s eyes stream down more quickly. ‘Jack has to be okay’ she thought to herself. ‘he just has to.’

Tony and Martha were both surprised when they saw Darren McGrath and another man in a suit walking towards them.

“Darren, what are you doing here?” Tony asked him.

“Gidday mate,” said McGrath. “We just heard about Jack. How’s he doing?”

“Well the doctor is in there with him now doing a check up.” Tony explained. “He’s going through a rough patch, but he’s stable for now.”

McGrath nodded. “Well all our thoughts are with you,” he said quietly. “Tony, Martha, this is Detective Nathan Owens from CID.” McGrath said motioning to Nathan. “Rachel put in a call to us about the drug that showed up in Jack’s system. Nathan here has had a lot of experience with it, so I’ve called him in to help investigate.” Nathan smiled politely and shook Tony and Martha’s hands.

“I’ve already questioned some of the constables that were with Jack last night,” said Nathan. “So I’ll do the best I can to find out who did this. Of course, I have some other cases to deal with… but Jack is a priority.”

Tony nodded, but Martha just stared blankly at the floor. She was too numb to say anything. “Thanks,” said Tony. “We really appreciate anything you can do.”

Rachel came out of Jack’s room and saw the two police men standing there. “Darren,” she said relieved. “I’m glad that you could come down here.”

“Is there somewhere we can talk in private?” McGrath asked her.

“Of course,” said Rachel. “Please, this way.”

When they were finally all alone, McGrath introduced Nathan to her. “You said that this concerned Nina Rogers as well?” said McGrath. “What exactly did you find out?”

“Well, Nina was in here a few days ago…” said Rachel. “She collapsed and we admitted her over night. At first we didn’t find anything in her blood, but the results from her second blood test show the exact same drugs that Jack has in his system. I just thought it was odd.”

“That is odd” Nathan said. “You’re very observant Dr Armstrong. Most doctors would’ve dismissed it as a coincidence.”

“I’m just doing my job,” said Rachel.

Nathan looked over at McGrath. “We’ll question Nina,” he said cutting to the chase. “But the fact that they were drugged in two totally different places, makes it hard to link them. I doubt that a school girl like Nina even knows anyone who was at the bar with Jack. This drug is becoming more widely available, so it most likely that they are two totally unrelated incidents.”

“You really think that?” said Rachel.

“In my professional opinion… yes,” Nathan said smugly. “We’ll investigate every lead we have. But a lot of the time these kinds of cases go unsolved. It’s just too hard to pinpoint where and when people get drugged, let alone by who.”

“Well Jack is a friend of mine, so as long as you do the best that you can.”

“We will Dr Armstrong,” said McGrath. “Listen, we better get back to the station. Thanks for your help.”

The two officers quickly left. Rachel felt that there was something off about the detective. She wasn’t convinced that he took her seriously.

Nathan and McGrath walked back to the police car. “This wasn’t mean to happen Nato,” McGrath said sternly. “That’s one of my guys in there.”

“Look I know, it’s pretty much mucked up everything.” Nathan said angrily. “I’ll call Richie and let him know. Damn it. Holden shouldn't of started snooping around.”

“The doctor is suspicious. What if she pieces it together?” he asked.

“She won’t. I can cover my tracks now that I know what she knows,” Nathan thought for a minute. “I’m a detective remember? Nobody will suspect me of tampering with evidence.”

“And the situation with Nina…?” McGrath questioned him.

“I’ll call her later and fill her in on what’s going on. But we’ll question her tomorrow. I’ll have change some of her medical files in case the doctor decides to play Nancy Drew. Besides, I have to make sure that no one can figure out it was me who drugged Jack.”
