Thanks guys! :) Here's a filler chapter...

ChapterEightySix:

Nina crept back into the house through the back door. She eyed up her cell phone that was sitting on the kitchen bench, and quietly made her way towards it.

“Back so soon?” Jake asked as he appeared in the doorway.

“Just grabbing my phone,” she said hastily. “Catch ya later…”

“Oh I thought you would’ve come home to clean up the mess you left in the lounge…” he waved the empty tequila bottle in the air in front of her before placing it on the table. “Entertaining people were we?”

“It was just me and Matilda…” she told him. “She had some problems at home so I said it was cool for her to stay.”

“Oh okay, that explains that then,” Jake said unconvinced. Nina gave him a quick smile and walked towards the door. Before she walked out, Jake laughed…

“Oh if you’re heading out… you might as well give this back to Johnny…” he called out to her.

She turned around, dreading the look on her brother’s face. He stood there somberly holding the wallet. “You mind telling me what the hell he was doing here?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about?” she lied. “I haven’t seen Johnny since you left…”

He gritted his teeth. “You think I’m stupid? See, because that’s not the vibe I’m getting kiddo… before I left there was the weird behaviour, the secret looks… Now I find the alcohol, the wallet on the couch… how romantic. Where’d you go on your first date? The liquor store?”

She rubbed her eyes in frustration, hoping that tears wouldn’t burst out from them. “Look it’s complicated-”

“Complicated!” he yelled. “That has to be the understatement of the century! So you’re not even denying that there’s something going on?”

She gulped. She tried to say something, but she was finding it hard enough just trying to breathe.

He knew from her silence what the answer was. “I told you to stay away from him. What the hell were you thinking?”

She gulped again. “I know this looks bad-”

“Bad! Do you even realise what you’ve done? I can’t believe you fell for him, you’ve honestly put both of our lives in danger. If he finds out…”

“Don’t you think that I thought of that!” she yelled back at him. “I tried to avoid him, I really did… you don’t know how hard it was…”

“You obviously didn’t try hard enough!” Jake paced around the kitchen, trying to get his head around the idea of his sister being with Johnny. It could ruin everything they had planned. And he was not about to risk anything. Not when he was this close…

“Of all people…” he muttered angrily. “What were you going to do when we left town? What exactly were you going to tell him? Because there’s no way he’s gonna let you just walk away. You know that don’t you?”

She covered her face, hoping that when she looked up, this whole thing would be a figment of her imagination.

“Say something!” Jake yelled at her.

“It just… happened,” she said quietly. “I know it’s wrong, but I just couldn’t avoid it. There’s something between us and I had to know…

“Had to know what?” he asked her.

“If what I was feeling was real…”

“What you were feeling?” he said mocking her. “Your feelings count for nothing! You can’t get involved with him. You need to end it... and if you don’t, I’ll make sure that you never see him again.”

“As usual I’m the one that has to sacrifice…” she snapped at him. “After all these years, I finally feel something for someone and you can’t just be happy for me?”

“What? Happy for you? He’s bad! Look kiddo, it’s more for your own safety. I just want to protect you.”

“Yeah because you’ve done such great job with that. You know what? Maybe I wouldn’t be in love with Johnny Cooper if Nick was still alive. You remember that don’t you? He died because you weren’t there when you were supposed to be. The one time you could’ve actually protected me. Instead you were off somewhere getting laid. I was the one that almost died, I was the one that lost someone I cared about, but I forgave you when nobody else did, and I’m sick and tired of just numbing out everything so that you don’t feel bad.”

Jake sighed and crossed his arms. She’d hit a nerve. He lent against the wall and stared up at the ceiling. “We can use this…” he mumbled as the thoughts ran through his mind. “Maybe there’s a way that I will let you see him.”

She stared at him, trying hard to decipher his thoughts.

“No way,’ she said shaking her head furiously. “No way am I doing your dirty work.”

He grabbed her arms and held her in her place. “You can get him to talk, you can get what we need.”

“You’re obsessed…” she mumbled. “He’s not going to just tell me that sort of stuff. He doesn’t even care about it because he’s just a middle man. Besides I can’t do that to him. I can’t use him like that.”

“Why the hell not?” he yelled. “You’ve got a choice. You do as I say and you can be with him whenever you like. I won’t stop you. But if you can’t play the game, then you end it with him. And you end it with him right away. I want my revenge and whether you like it or not Johnny Cooper is going to help me.”

Awww, thanks guys... I appreciate! :) Everytime I stop writing for a few days I kind of lose my "mojo"... I had no idea what to write, but I know that if I write something the rest usually comes to me. So sorry for these boring updates...

ChapterEightySeven:

Rocco flipped his phone shut. “Something’s come up, she says she can’t make it,” he said to Matilda as they walked along the road from the caravan park.

“I hope everything is okay,” she sighed. “I feel so bad about what happened...”

“Have you talked to your Mum yet?” he said changing the subject.

“Nope,” she said shaking her head. “Not until she gets her head screwed back on and realizes that you are the sweetest guy ever.”

Rocco blushed. “Well at least that means that I get to spend more time with you.”

Matilda smiled and bit her lip. “See… you’re totally sweet. How do you always know the right thing to say and do?”

He shied away from her like he was really embarrassed. “To be honest, I’ve never really had a girlfriend before… I mean, with the gang and everything. It consumes you, ya know? Being normal… it’s kinda all new to me.”

“What was it like?” she asked carefully. “Being in the gang?”

“It was… it was life,” he answered quietly. “The gang was like a family. But it’s so intense, like you lose yourself somehow. I dunno, it probably sounds stupid the way I’m talking about it…”

“It’s not stupid Rocco,” Matilda said holding his hand tightly. “Nothing you say could ever be stupid.”

“I just, I wasn’t like those guys… I couldn’t hurt people anymore and one day I realized that there was a whole other world out there,” he choked back some of the emotion that was building up inside of him.

“I had to change my life, I couldn’t live like that anymore I felt so alone…” he said quietly.

Matilda put her arms around his waist and rested her head on his chest. “You have me now Rocco, so you don’t need to feel alone ever again.”

ChapterEightyEight:

Jack sat at the table cutting the cheesecake and carefully placed a piece on Martha’s plate. “Irene is a legend!” he said eating a spoonful. “This is the best isn’t it Mac?”

Martha gave him a forced smile. “Yeah, it’s great,” she sighed looking down at her plate.

Rachel and Kim walked through the door, smiling and laughing as they carried the grocery bags to the counter.

“That wouldn’t be Irene’s chocolate cheesecake?” Kim asked eyeing up Jack and Martha’s plates.

“Kim, we just had some at the hospital!” said Rachel.

Kim grabbed a spoon and started picking away at Jack’s plate. “Yeah, but it’s not Irene’s…”

“So how are you doing Martha?” Rachel asked concerned.

Martha looked up and put on a brave face. “Yeah, still a little shaken, but I’m hanging in there.”

“She’s a fighter,” Kim interrupted.

“If you want to talk…’ said Rachel. “I’m always here…”

“Thanks Rach,” she smiled. “But I’m fine really, see not a scratch on me…”

“Besides Rachel, Martha has got me,” Jack beamed. “I’m her listening post.”

Martha pushed Jack playfully. “That’s funny… because usually when I say something all I get is a ‘huh’ ‘yep’ ‘hmmm’ or a burp. Do you even remember our conversation about you taking me out on a shopping spree?”

“When was that?’ Jack asked trying to remember.

“You’ve proved my point exactly!” she exclaimed.

‘Don’t worry Martha, Kim is just the same so I totally understand how you feel,” Rachel laughed. She walked into the kitchen and started putting the groceries away.

“Rach!” Kim exclaimed. “I listen… it just so happens that I have other things in my head that are more important. Like chocolate…”

“You sound like a woman!” Jack teased. “Who wears the pants in your relationship again…?”

Kim licked the chocolate off his fingers and gave a Jack a foul look. “Mate I could say the same thing about you…” Kim rebutted. “But I’m not that mean.”

Rachel picked up the last grocery bag that was sitting by Kim’s legs. As she placed the bag on the kitchen bench next to the glass, Martha looked up. Everything seemed like it was in slow motion. She tried to yell... but it was too late. That sound. That crashing, smashing sound pierced her memory.

Rachel bent down to clean up the broken glass on the floor. “Sorry guys, I’m so clumsy…” she muttered.

“It’s fine Rach,” said Kim. “After a twelve hour shift at the hospital it’s understandable…”

Martha was frozen and Jack could see the fear in her eyes. “Martha are you alright?” he asked putting his arm around her. “Martha?”

She stood up, her lips trembling, her heart pumping. “Don’t touch me!” she yelled pushing him away. “I can’t do it… just leave me alone.” She ran to her room and slammed the door.
