Sorry, still having a block... I just can't think at the mo... but I did this while Prison Break was on.

I'm really glad that you guys think my dialogue is realistic... I'm always that girl who has no idea what to say! So thanks. :)

ChapterNinetyOne:

“I thought you said you’d never played pool before?” Rocco said as Matilda sunk another ball. “You’re not trying to hustle me are ya?”

“Who lil old me?” she said sweetly. “Okay… well I may have played a game or two before. Or ten… or twenty. Let’s see… everyday after school for three years… what does that add up to?”

Rocco laughed and took a shot. “Gees, I thought I was good,” he said glumly as the ball hit the side of the table. “But it’s just that I’m distracted… hey how about I get us some drinks. I think I might need the strength if I’m going to play you again.”

“Ojay thanks,” Matilda giggled. “And don’t worry… next time I’ll go easy on ya…”

Rocco smiled as he made his way over to the juice bar.

“Two ojay’s thanks Mr Stewart,” he asked politely.

“You and young Maddie seem to be having a good time,” Alf commented.

“Yeah,’ he blushed. “She’s really great, I’m really lucky I guess.”

“Well, you’ve both been through a lot lately, and I’m glad to see you both smiling, even if some people don’t approve.” He slid the glasses across the bar. “There you go mate...”

“Thanks Mr Stewart,” he said as he handed him the money.

Alf looked at the next customer who was standing behind Rocco. “What can I get you?” he asked.

“Oh I think I’ll have what he’s having,” the guy said motioning to Rocco’s drink. Alf passed a glass to him.

“That’s five dollars mate,” Alf said.

“Oh I’m sorry,” he said smartly. “I seem to have left my wallet at home. Do you think you could spot me Roc? I mean because we’re mates and all…”

Rocco clenched his jaw and tried hard not to look at the guy.

“Come on Roc. I could always go outside and ask Johnny for the cash,”

Rocco filtered through his pockets and handed Alf a crisp note.

Alf looked at him worried. “You alright?” he asked.

He gulped and nodded and Alf went over to the other side of the bar to help more customers.

“What can I say… thanks Roc. I knew you’d spot me. I’ll pay ya back.”

“You don’t have to Karl,” he said anxiously. “Don’t worry about it.”

He tried to walk away, but Karl grabbed him and turned him back around.

“Too bad that pretty little bar maid isn’t here tonight…” he said callously. “You wouldn’t happen to know her name would ya?”

“Nah,” Rocco said shaking his head. “Look I’ve gotta go…”

“What’s that? You gotta get back to your girlfriend?” Karl looked through to the other side of the surf club and saw Matilda arranging the balls on the pool table.

“I thought you would’ve hooked up with someone new by now. There’s a few hotties around here that I wouldn’t be able to pass up.”

“What do you want?’ Rocco snapped.

Karl’s face turned sour. “You know what I want you little punk…”

Rocco breathed in deeply. “Man, I told you I’d pay you back when I could. You said you were cool with it.”

“Yeah well I’m not anymore,” Karl said threateningly. “I want the cash and I want it now.”

“Yeah but I don’t have that kinda money,” he pleaded. ‘

“Well you better find it Roc, or I go runnin to Johnny. Remember that last job up North? The one where we almost got busted. How do you think your big bro is going to react when he finds out you were the one narking to the cops?”

Rocco shook his head. “I wasn’t the one that narked, I swear. It wasn’t me.”

“Yeah well I don’t think Johnny’s gonna see it that way. You know what happens to narks don’t ya?”

“Don’t do this man,” Rocco said scared. “Look I’ll get you the cash, I just need some time…”

“You’ve got till the end of the week. A thousand bucks better be in your hot little hands or you’ll regret it.”

“Hang on!” Rocco said confused. “You only lent me $500. And I needed it to start over. I had to get out of the gang and you said you’d help me.”

“Interest Roc. You know how it works,” he sniggered. “Did ya really think getting out of the gang was that easy. You knew I’d be back to collect. And if you don’t pay up, I won’t be the only one after you…”

Rocco retreated a step back. “You’ll get your cash,” he spat. “Just leave me alone…”

“Good. I’ll catch ya later then… Roc…” He walked away and Rocco slammed his fist down on the bar.

“Rocco you okay?” Ric asked coming up behind him.

“Yeah…” he said trying to act calm. “It’s just… It’s nothing… Maddie’s beating me at pool and I’m just trying to psych myself up…”

“Yeah Maddie’s a bit of a dark horse when it comes to pool,” Ric laughed. “Who was that guy?”

‘I dunno?” Rocco lied. “Never seen him before in my life…”

Sorry, still having a block... I just can't think at the mo...

Still flowing tho, especially the dialogue. :D Karl is becoming more and more evil...!

I knew you’d spot me.

Funny, the language difference even tho it’s all still English. In the UK, to spot someone would just mean you saw them. I often find the language differences the most difficult part of writing H&A fics! Looking up Aussie slang on google is something I do often (I mean heaps!) :P

^Hehe, I'm not too sure either... I can't help but add a NZ flavour to the language...

 Karl is most definitley evil...

The italics are the same song I used in Chapter 39. I was listening to it on my ipod today so that's really why it's in there... :P

ChapterNinetyTwo:

She stood alone in the dark, rubbing her arms as if she was trying to protect herself from the cold. The air was warm of course, but she shuddered as the rustling trees around her whispered the thoughts that were running through her head. It scared her because she was afraid he would hear it before she could tell him.

“Whatever changed my love to despair…?” she hummed to herself.

She waited, anxiously tapping her foot on the ground, scanning the darkness for a sign of him. The sense in her head was pounding just as much as the fire in her heart and only one of them would get their way tonight.

“In a moment my love, I am captured. Captured.”

He grabbed her from behind, startling her at first, but she didn’t fight him. He wrapped his arms around her and gently kissed the side of her neck. The tighter he held her, the safer she felt. Even the trees had stopped taunting her. Instead, they hushed each other and they patiently watched and they waited.

He twirled her around and greeted her properly. “Hey beautiful,” he whispered kissing her lips. He knew that something was wrong instantly. She hadn’t kissed him back, and she looked as though there was a huge tremor of pain flowing through her body.

“Black on the ground, I am still as a stone, Whatever changed my love, to despair…”

Her tear stained cheeks glimmered in the moonlight, and it distressed him to see her hurting.

“Hey…” he said worried as he wiped away her tears. “What’s up? What’s wrong?”

“I can’t do this,” she sobbed shaking her head fearfully. “I’m sorry but I can’t do this…”

“Do what?” he asked. “Hey whatever it is, you can tell me…” he took her hand and led her to one of the trees where they were sheltered from the openness of the night. As they sat there in silence he held her hand, gently rubbing her palm as if he was trying to ease some pain. She put her other hand on top of his and held it tightly.

“It’s intense, don’t you think?” she whispered. “What we have…”

He smiled, relieved that she was finally coming back down to earth. “You know, most people would just call that… passion,” he told her.

“We can’t see each other any more,” she blurted out. “My brother is back, and everything is just… so… complicated. It’s just… it’s just… I’m sorry.”

“What?” he said stunned. “What the hell?”

“I’m sorry.”

“Is that really what you want? Or is that what your brother wants?’ he asked angrily.

“Please don’t make this harder than it already is. It’s the best thing for both of our sakes.”

“How’s that exactly?” The emotion was starting to build up behind his eyes. The thought of losing her…

“You know I can’t let you go, not like this…” he told her.

“You have to!” she said boldly. “I just… Wouldn’t you rather hurt now than later… before it’s gets any deeper… before it’s too late…”

“It’s already too late… and you know that. I know that you don’t want to do this, so what the hell is going on?”

He waited patiently as she searched for her answer.

Light through the clouds, trapped the scent of a soul, In a moment my love, I am captured. Captured.

“Love makes you weak Johnny…” she said finally. “And I don’t want to be your weakness. I don’t want you to be weak…”

He wiped away the solitary tear that filtered from her eye. “Yeah, you make me weak. But I need you. I need you to give me my strength. You… and Roc… you’re the only people that I’ve ever cared about. The only people that I would anything for…”

“You don’t get it,” she cried. “I’m destructive. Everything I touch… all the people that I care about. They only end up getting hurt. And I don’t want to hurt you… I can’t… I can't do that...”

“Oh I’m a big boy,” he said only half smiling. “It doesn’t mean that we have to end this.”

She looked at him solemnly. He was still holding her hand, and even after all she had said, he hadn’t let it go. He waited for her to say something. Anything. And even though there was a slight breeze in the air, the trees were still; they were hushed. Even they waited, and she knew... It was either follow her heart, or follow her head.

“If we do this…” she started. “There’s no going back…”

“I know,” he whispered leaning towards her. “I know…”

Karl sat in the shadows. He had followed her there hoping to slap her around a bit, and was surprised as anyone when Johnny turned up. He watched them, the voyeur that he was, wondering what the hell it was that had them meeting late at night, and alone…

He laughed insanely to himself. This had turned out better than he expected. If he played it right, Johnny and Jake would soon be taking orders from him. And then he would have the power. He would be the one that everyone was scared of.

Next: Martha comes face to face with her attacker as he takes his plan one step further...

Wow, Adz that was a great chapter. Johnny and Nina are so cute. Karl is a freak. So not looking forward to the next chapter. Leave my Jack's Martha alone. If Jake or Karl or which ever freak touched her lays another hand on her, i will be very angry at you.

But great chapter. More please :)
