leaving a trail of her footprints in the sand as the light of the sun glistened over the calm sea.

Great description.

All that time she had been persuading Jack for a baby, it had been there all along, secretly hiding until just the right moment.

That’s beautiful. I love moments in fics that make me smile and that line did. :D

No J&M but I am working on that as you read... :P But yay I updated! :)

ChapterOneHundredOne:

“Oh you’ll never believe it…” Colleen said as she rushed into the diner. “Poor old Madge Wilkins has finally woken up…”

She sat down next to Alf and Tony at the table in front of the counter, shaking her head and trying to contain the exciting emotion building up inside of her.

“So does she remember anything?” Leah asked as she picked up some plates.

“Well not really,’ Colleen moaned. “The doctor’s say it could take some time, but the poor woman was practically senile anyway. If you ask me, her condition’s actually improved…”

“Flamin heck Colleen,” Alf snapped. “That poor woman almost died…”

“Well a good thump on the head is what some of us need sometimes to get all the parts working again…” she told him.

“If you ask me, you’ve either had a few too many or not enough…” Alf said sharply

“Settle down kids,” Tony laughed as he saw Beth walk in. “The main thing is, is that she’s okay. I hope we all agree on that.”

“Well…” Colleen started…

“I seriously cannot believe this,” Beth said slumping down in the seat next to Tony. “That has to be the fifth parking ticket I’ve gotten in Yabbie Creek this week.” She stamped the piece of paper down on the table and sighed, massaging her temples to ease the pain in her head.

“Don’t worry about it love,’ Tony said sweetly rubbing her back. “You can always write and contest the tickets. The coppers must’ve made some sort of mistake. Maybe you’ve caught one of them having a bad week or something.”

“Yeah, well they’re not the only ones having a bad week,” she sighed leaning her head on his shoulder.

“I know,” Tony said holding her tightly. “But, we’ll get through this… I’m always here for you Beth, you know that.”

Beth closed her eyes as she revelled in the comfort of Tony’s arms. “I just wish Matilda was here with us…”

“She’ll come round eventually,” said Tony. “Remember when we went through this with Lucas? Maybe I should have a talk to her. See if I can convince her to come back home at least.”

“You can try sweet,” she said sadly, “but at the moment, Matilda is not listening to anyone…”

“Are you sure you’re going to be okay?” Nina said worried as she walked along the beach with Matilda.

“Yeah, I’ll be fine,” she said wiping a tear out of her eye. “Hey you haven’t seen Rocco today have you? I was hoping he’d meet me for lunch but he never did…”

“Nah,” Nina lied, not wanting to say anything about her earlier confrontation with Rocco. “I’m sure he’s around somewhere…”

“Yeah, I tried texting him, but he never replied. I hope nothing’s happened to him…”

Nina looked at her watch. ‘Listen, I might head back to school, I’ve got a few things to do before class. Will I see you there?”

Matilda shook her head. “I really don’t feel up to it, plus I want to find Rocco and make sure he’s okay. If you see him… could you let me know?”

Nina nodded and walked backwards along the sand as she waved goodbye to Matilda who started walking in the opposite direction.

“Watch where you’re goin!” a guy said angrily as she crashed into him. She turned around and Johnny teased her with his eyes, before giving her a quick and playful grin. His hands lingered on her waist for the tiniest second, but it was still enough to send the butterflies in her stomach into a frenzy.

“Sorry,” she said acting flustered. “I didn’t see you…”

As the gang walked ahead of him, Johnny turned back and smiled at her again, before catching up to them and taking his place at the front of the pack.

“Hey kiddo,” her brother said walking up behind her.

“Hey,” she sighed as Johnny disappeared from her thoughts. “What’s up?”

“Oh, you know… Same old,” he said casually.

“Umm, listen Matilda asked if she could stay with us, she’s still having problems at home. I said it was cool, but that I’d check with you first…”

He rolled his eyes at her. “It’s not exactly ideal, but I guess it’ll be suss if we don’t let her right?”

“Yeah, look, I might see if I can get through to her mum, try and talk some sense into her… she might go back home if they sort things out.”

“Well she can stay, but not tonight,” Jake told her. “I’ve made some plans with the boys…”

“What kind of plans?”

“They’re coming over tonight.” He explained. “We’re going to go over the plans for the next robbery. It’s not going to be awkward for you is it?”

“Why would it be awkward?” she frowned.

“Well you did break it off with Johnny didn’t you?” he asked. “There won’t be any weird tension if you’re in the same room?”

“Of course I broke it off with him,” she lied, acting as if she were offended he would even question her about it. “He was just using me anyway… it was just a physical thing… it’s not like there were real feelings there or anything…”

He looked at her and wondered how on earth she had gotten mixed up with Johnny Cooper in the first place; He thought she’d have more sense than to risk such a thing, but never the less he bought her story and hoped they would never have to talk about it again.

“Good,’ he said finally. “Johnny trusts me so it’s only a matter of time before he let’s me right in.”

“I’ll make myself scarce anyway,” she told him bluntly. “Some of those guys just creep me out…”

“Whatever,” he said shaking his head. “I’ll see you at home then…”

Beth stood outside the diner in the place that she had parked her car.

“I parked it right here,” she exclaimed to Tony. “Right in this spot…”

They both stared at the empty space in front of them as Tony quickly got out his cell phone.

"I guess there's no other explanation Beth," Tony frowned. "Looks like your car's been stolen..."
