Maybe do a Lic (Luc&Ric) or a Rim (Robbie&Kim). Oh, maybe a Drules (Drew&Jules). Those same sex fics always gets heaps of readers and turn out to be very interesting.

 Damn. My. Gutter. Mind. Straight. To. Hell.

Wowee. This hasn't been posted in since 6th May 2007. That's a long time.

Thought I'd spark up some conversation. You guys may not find me interesting at all, but people, work with me here! For the sake of the thread! :P

So... is it just me, or are JM fics DEFINITELY on the comeback? Well, okay, a lot of you will say "They were always here. They won't leave us alone!!" Which is a very good point. JM fics have always been here, but doesn't it feel like there are LOADS of them now? I swear there wasn't always this many. I'm not complaining, because I'm no complainer, I just wondered about opinions on the masses of them.

Does too much of a good thing spoil it? If we have sooo many of these fics based around JM, how can they all be different? Are they different? And last of all, what are your favourite kind of JM fics? Angst, Drama, Humour ... or just plain soppy fluff? :P

I don't really read fanfics anymore, and I can faintly remember the fics from the good ol' days. Just wondering how they are nowadays? (And also desperately trying to spark life into this corpse of a thread. :P)

I haven't really noticed an increase in J&M fics, but if there has been, then it might have something to do with Sam's character changing so dramatically

and spoilers suggesting that she'll die soon.

It might be giving people hope that J&M will get back together, and be giving them ideas on how that might play out. Ideas that must be written down and shared for the enjoyment of like-minded readers. I'm not interested in J&M so I wouldn't really know how different they are, but I'm sure that most of them are handled as well as any other pairing, it's just that they happen to have more fans, and therefore more fics. Until the front page of the forum is wall to wall J&M fics, I don't think we need to be too worried about it. There seems to be a pretty healthy mix of themes at the moment as far as I can see.

Well you asked: "I just wondered about opinions on the masses of them. Does too much of a good thing spoil it? If we have sooo many of these fics based around JM, how can they all be different? Are they different?" So that was my answer. I equate worry with raising an issue, because why raise it if you're not worried about it? There's been a suspicion in the past that J&M fics might overrun the forum, but I don't think that will happen. That's what the Library and the Vault are for, to thin out the excess and give every new fic a chance to be seen no matter what it's about.

"I equate worry with raising an issue, because why raise it if you're not worried about it?"

So we have something to discuss in a fanfiction discussion thread.

Anyway, I didn't mean it to sound like I was worried, I just wanted to ignite conversation. Sorry if you misinterpreted my meaning, but I honestly like JM fics. As you and others probably know, I'm on the JM ship. I was just trying to provoke conversation, because I know the majority of people in this forum are JM fans... so I was opening to a larger audience. That was all. I just wanted to see if people thought they were getting "same-y" and if anyone had any suggestions on different kind of fics they'd like to see etc. Okay?

Mine would be angst. I'm a sucker for anything that makes you want to rip out your own heart and show the world how black they've made it before you die... I'm cheery like that :). Romantic angst is certainly a favourite, a couple suffering the slings and arrows together. I do like to see humour in whatever I read though, even if it's only patches of black comedy to break the tension.

As far as the characters go, nearly all of the recent teens (Robbie and Tash onwards) would be able to catch my attention. And specific pairings, well, I think it's pretty obvious that I'm a slash fan from way back. Pretty boy + pretty boy = me likey. It's a very complex equation :P

That's pretty much what I write as well.

Oh, and I love a sadistic, twisted villain. Gotta love a psycho. Whether they actually commit a murder is optional.
