MARTHA

With Jack returning home a couple nights ago, I’ve realized how great life is, how great my marriage is. Though this morning Jack poured his heart out to me and has told me he wants our marriage to go in a different direction, a direction I really don’t want to take. Returning to Desire today has taught me that I have two choices with Jack’s direction of marriage. Though which one should I choose?

A new day had risen in Summer Bay as the sun towered over the top of the small sea-side town. At the Pad, Martha slowly walked in still half asleep as she noticed her husband, Jack Holden eating breakfast on the lounge. She walked over to him and rested against the lounge and she kissed him on the head.

“Morning.” Martha said with a smile. “Ready for your first day back at work?” Martha asked as she sat next to him.

“Surprisingly, yes!” Jack said with a chuckle.

“Are you alright? Last night you wouldn’t stop tossing and turning.” Martha asked as she rested against his bare chest.

“Kinda… Just a few things on my mind.” Jack said slowly. Martha looked up to him as she wanted to know what was on his mind. “Almost dying a few weeks ago and Rachel losing her baby had me realize something, life is too short and we need to get a head start if we’re going anywhere with it.” Jack said, Martha sat up, looking serious.

“What are you saying?” Martha asked with curiosity.

“Martha, I want to start a family.” Jack said with a smile. Martha though, didn’t know how to react. She loves kids but she doesn’t want to start a family now, especially that she just became a model. “I know we planned to start in our late twenties, but we’re stable and I like the fact of being a young father.” Jack said. Martha just stared at him, still, she didn’t know what to say.

“Look at the time, I’m late for a shoot-“

“Martha, wait!” Jack said as he chased Martha out the door. “Can we talk about this when we get home?”

“Sure” Martha replied, not sounding too happy about the idea. As Martha sat in the driver’s seat of her car, she rested her head against the wheel. She wasn’t ready for this… How was she going to tell Jack?

CHAPTER 17: The One In The Lift

As Matilda walked out from the kitchen with a cereal bowl, Ric walked down the stairs topless with his work singlet hanging out of his pocket. They both seemed awkward around each other after their conversation yesterday about where they’re relationship was truly going. Ric just stared at Matilda as she continued to eat her breakfast in silence.

“So… Have you came to a decision?” Ric asked as he sat down. Matilda stopped eating as she looked up at him.

“Yes… One that you’re not going to like though.” Matilda said softly. Ric dropped his head, thinking that the worse has come.

“So, you’re breaking up with me?” Ric asked.

“No… I still want to be with you… But I want you to promise me no more “Mr-Overprotective-Guy” ok?” Matilda asked with a smile. Ric laughed, thinking their relationship was over.

“Well… What about Kirin? He may come back here again.” Ric said.

“Even if he is. There is more than one way to settle an agreement besides violence.” Matilda said as she touched Ric’s face and he smiled back. “Speaking of Kirin… How’s Sally?”

“I don’t- I don’t know… I haven’t spoken to her because she wont come out of her room.”

“So, you haven’t seen her since the other night?” Matilda asked.

“Well… No… She wont come out.” Ric said softly. “She just needs time… She just found out she was never married to Flynn… And she can’t make up for it now because Flynn’s gone…”

Upstairs, Sally sat besides her bed. She looked like she hadn’t slept in days. Her eyes were blood red, hurting from all the tears she released. She turned around and stared at her bedside table where she looked at a picture of her and Flynn on their wedding day. She picked it up and began to cry, nothing could explain the pain Sally was going through.

“I’m so sorry.” Sally softly said, not sounding to clear though as the tears were getting too much for her. She continued to stare at the photo as she lied down on the cold timber floor.

Over the past few days, Lucas Holden had become extremely guilty as he realized he was the cause of Belle and Drew’s breakup. He thought the only way for them to reunite was if Hunter and Belle weren’t together. As Lucas entered the doors of Desire and made his way to the studio, he was beginning to think of what to say to Hunter that would make him dump Belle. As he waited patiently at the lift to go down, something caught his eye which erased all of his thoughts about Drew, Belle and Hunter. Holly Gillian smiled as she walked up to Lucas, waiting with him at the lift.

“Hey… I don’t think we’ve meet… I’m Holly.” Holly smiled softly.

“I’m- I’m Lucas… Lucas Holden.” Lucas said with a huge grin on his face he couldn’t hide.

“Do you work here?” Holly said biting her lip.

“Ugh- Ugh- No… No I don’t. I’ve just came here to talk to someone.” Lucas said, stuttering for words as he can’t keep his eyes off Holly, which she noticed.

“So what are you doing here?” Holly said with a cheeky grin. As Lucas was about to answer, the doors of the lift swung open. As they walked in Lucas pressed the button to go down.

“Do you work here?” Lucas asked Holly. Holly smiled and pressed the Emergency Stop button, with that, the lift shook for a few seconds then stopped. “Whoa!” Lucas said shaking.

“Yeah. I’m a model here at Desire… Going down actually for a shoot.” Holly said in a flirtatious tone as she moved towards Lucas. Lucas couldn’t help but smile, this was like heaven for him.

“Well wouldn’t you want the lift to go down if you have a shoot?” Lucas asked with a grin.

“When your brother is photo shooting you… No, not really.” Holly said sitting down. Lucas looked around the room and made little voices with his mouth. He noticed she was staring at herself in the mirror, so he quickly turned around and took out a little packet of pills. Before he opened it he looked at her again, making sure she wasn’t looking. Lucas quickly swallowed the pill and turned around… Where he noticed Holly standing right behind him.

“What are you doing?” Holly said with a smile Lucas couldn’t resist.

Martha made her way down to the studio where a photo shoot was happening and noticed no one was around. As she looked around the large room she noticed Hunter sitting on a seat, signing some forms. She smiled and walked up to him.

“Hey… I’m Martha… Are you the photographer?” Martha asked.

“Yes… I am.” Hunter said slowly, as he looked up to her he couldn’t help but stare, and the same with her. Moments of silence circled around the room before Hunter spoke again.

“I’m Hunter… You look familiar… Were you at the wedding a couple days ago?” Hunter asked with curiosity.

“Yeah, I was… I didn’t see you there though.” Martha said as she sat next to him. “So… You’re the photographer.” Martha said with a cheeky smile.

“Yeah… And I’m guessing you’re one of the models?”

“Yeah… How long have you been working here for? I took a few weeks off because my hu- … Because my house was trashed so I had a lot of work to do… Fixing it up and so on.” Martha said avoiding his eyes. For some unknown reason, Martha didn’t want him to know she was married, but why?

Lucas and Holly sat next to each other on one side of the lift, staring at each other. Lucas let out a laugh as Holly continued to stare at him.

“What?” Lucas said with a grin.

“Nothing… So… Are you going to give me some?” Holly asked.

“I’m sorry?” Lucas replied.

“Some of the good stuff… The pills, are you going to share?” Holly said biting her lip. Lucas looked around the room weirdly.

“Ugh… Why?” Lucas said.

“Because… They make you feel good… Isn’t that why you’re taking them?” She asked.

“Well yeah… Well if you’re asking for some…” Lucas said as he handed the packet over to her. As she took out a pill and swallowed it, they stared at each other for a few moments. Holly avoided the silence and gave Lucas a kiss and hit the Emergency Stop button so the lift continues going down.

“Thanks.” Holly cheekily said as she walked out. As the doors closed behind her, Lucas was stunned… He never expected any of this to happen. As the lift continued to move, he wondered if he’ll ever see her again…

As the sun began to set on a day that Lucas wouldn’t forget, Dan ran out of the surf holding his surfboard as he ran up the beach. He dried himself up with his towel and placed his board in the backseat. As he closed the door he seemed surprise to see a certain someone standing there, his brother, Peter Baker.

“Dan, we need to talk.” Peter said as he walked up to Dan.

“Peter, we have nothing to talk about.” Dan said sharply as he entered his car. Peter had a deep sigh and entered Dan’s car and sat in the passengers seat.

“Mate!? What the hell are you doing!? Get out of here!” Dan yelled.

“We’re not going until we talk about what happened between you and Amanda!” Peter said, pulling a sick face, not wanting to hear the true facts about his ex-fiancée infidelity. Dan reversed out of the car park and began to drive off as a heated conversation began to, well… Heat up.

“We didn’t plan for anything to go that far. It was just a bit of fun when you two weren’t serious. But when your relationship got serious, our affair did as well.” Dan said.

“Well when you knew our relationship was getting serious you should of stopped the affair!” Peter yelled.

“I know! I know! But we didn’t! I’m sorry!” Dan said, sounding upset. “It should of never of happened!”

“Oh, now you finally make sense!” Peter said sarcastically. “How do you think all this makes me feel? My son! My brother! Screwing my fiancée! And to be told by a videotape! Do you have any idea how that makes someone feel?!” Peter screamed, making Dan feel bad.

“No… I don’t.” Dan slowly said.

“I hate you Dan. I hate you so much!” Peter softly gritted through his teeth.

“Mate, you don’t mean that!” Dan said protesting.

“Yes I do!” Peter said, staring at Dan with a face full of anger. Dan felt upset when he saw Peter’s feelings being expressed through his face. As Peter slowly turned away his heart skipped a beat.

“Mate! Watch out!” Peter screamed. As Dan turned to face the road everything suddenly went black…

…As the car horn echoed in the background, due to Dan’s bloody face resting upon it, on the road laid Peter’s lifeless body next to Dan’s car where it was wrapped around a tree…

NEXT CHAPTER: Only one life will be found on the side of the road as another goes missing! Jack and Martha’s marriage is in the air and Gillian makes a threat to Belle that could kill her relationship with Hunter- literally!

Lol, if whatever happens to him is so bad/terrible, I think I would prefer him dead.

I really hope he's not paralysed or anything. It would totally suck if he did, tho. But it would be interesting watching him cope.... [P/S: Lil, don't kill me for saying what I said about Peter. ]

Actually I am I needed a character for some future stories, but everyone else was busy so I had to make a new one. Chapter 20 he comes ... I don't know if he'll work though, that'll make four original characters in this fic, hopefully it works... Actually, speaking of the originals, do you like them? Dennis, Holly and Hunter Gillian?
