Aww! good update Em!

With this sort of illness, there is alot of stress put on the parents and siblings.

Its hard to ever imagin what they are going through unless you have been through it yourself but I think you have done very well in explaining how they must be feeling and the way Amie is feeling and reacting towards her sister is sweet and caring. You have explained well that because Amie is young and doesn't really grasp whats going on that she has an idea that if shes nice to her sister, then her sister will get better- which is a ver sad aspect of the affect it is having on the family.

I think the way you describe how Jack and Martha are around eachother is realistic and the way they are putting their lives on hold, and eventually as we saw before they finally break down because no parent wants to go through watching their child experiencing pain.

So I must say well done to Emma and Becky

I know I can sarcastic and horrible with some comments but I intend no harm with them. So yea this is me being serious.

Chapter 12- Happy chapter i hope you all enjoy it

Jack was getting Amie ready for school the next morning. He had ended up sleeping in Abby’s room the previous night. This morning he was trying not to think about ‘what would happen if’. It wasn’t exactly difficult as he had Amie to keep him occupied with her constant question asking. She must have been going through a phase; where anything that happened there was something interesting about and she had to find out everything about that thing.

“Dad, what is peanut butter made out of?” Amie asked as she ate her toast

“Peanuts and butter” Jack replied.

“Are you sure?” Amie asked, for her this answer was too simple.

“Why don’t you ask your teacher at school?” Jack suggested.

“Why does my hair grow?” Amie asked looking at her hairbrush.

“What’s with all the questions?” Jack said

“I’m going to get ready for school” Amie replied walking off into her room. Jack smirked at her; she obviously had no answer.

“I’ll come and help you in a minute” Jack added taking a bite of his toast.

“I’m a big girl Daddy, I don’t need your help” Amie yelled from her room before shutting the door. Jack knew any second she would come out asking for help; he always won.

Jack had just dropped Amie off at school and was now on his way to the hospital. They had been told that this was the end of one of Abby’s chemo cycles so she was allowed to come home for a while before another cycle started. He had with him Abby’s favourite clothes. Whilst Abby had been in hospital she had alternated between three sets of pyjamas.

“Daddy” Abby screamed as Jack walked in. She had definitely gotten her energy back and was looking forward to going home for a short time. Before the chemo had really drained her energy out of her, which she absolutely hated. All she wanted to do was run around.

“Hey sweetie” He went over to her straight away as last time she had complained that he ignored her. “Are you ok today?” He asked

“Yep! But I want to go home” Abby replied, but before Jack could reply someone butted in.

“Excuse me, am I invisible?” Martha asked

“Can you hear that?” Jack asked Abigail

“Hear what?” Abby giggled.

“Abby I thought you would be on my side” Martha whinged.

“She’s Daddy’s little princess, why wouldn’t she be on my side?” Jack retaliated.

“Because you are mean Holden” Martha walked over and poked him hard.

“But you know you love me for it” Jack kissed her.

“Suppose there might be a little place in my heart for you” Martha kissed him again.

“Excuse me, little person in the room” Abigail yelled.

“Oh, I’m sorry, I seemed to have forgotten you were there” Jack joked with her.

“You forgot!” Abby exclaimed.

“No, no he didn’t really honest” Martha gave Jack a glare.

“Ok, just make sure that you don’t do that again” Abby told them both.

“Do what? This?” Jack kissed Martha. All you could hear was Abby’s screams. Martha and Jack looked at her; eyes covered by her hands and her mouth open. Martha went over to her.

“Ok Abby we promise we won’t do it again” Martha told her

“In front of you, in front of you” Jack added

“You promise?” Abby asked

“Yep! Promise, we promise” Jack answered

“I’m going home, I’m going home, I’m going home” Abby started chanting walking towards the car.

“Yes that’s right, and it’s great that you’re coming home, but please can we just turn down the volume,” Martha said

“Are we home yet? Are we home yet? Are we home yet?” Abby chanted louder as she got in the car. Sure they were glad to have her home, but how where they going to cope there were 2 of them like this?

“Abby we have to pick Amie up from school on the way back” Jack tried to tell her above her own yelling.

“What?” Abby suddenly stopped and asked.

“I said that we’re going to pick Amie up from school on the way back,” Jack repeated.

“Can’t she walk home” Abby started to whinge

“No, she cannot, I know you want to get home, but can you please be patient. Amie can’t wait to have you home, so be nice to her, and remember she let you play with her dolls” Martha told her.

“I suppose. I will try and be nice” Abby replied

“Try is not good enough Abigail, you will be nice” Jack said before Martha got out the car to go and get Amie.

“Mummy” Amie screamed as she ran up to her

“Hello sweetie” Martha told her as she picked her up at give her a kiss and a hug

“There’s a big surprise for you in the car” Martha told Amie

“Abby” Amie shouted as she got in the car

“Amie” screamed Abby just as loud as her big sister a kiss and a hug

As they arrived up their drive way Jack got out and said to Abby:

“Well Miss Abigail Holden your castle awaits princess” Jack told her getting her out the car

Yes you all read right Abigails home
