Chapter 14 was one of the most saddest chapters I have ever read... but YAY a new baby Holden! Please don't let anything happen to Abby... you just can't... it's not fair. beckyboo Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Chapter 17 “Jack right now is not a good time for your jokes” Martha laughed at him “Your right im sorry I will go and find a doctor” He told her “Shouldt be that hard Jack” she giggled “Now who’s the one making jokes” he told her Five hours later Martha and Jack had been away from the girls for five hours and the newest baby Holden just did not want to come out and Martha was in a lot of pain “Why wont it come out Jack why” she cried “It will when its ready babe, trust me” he told her “Trust you and why should I do that” she yelled at him Jack was quite taken aback by this “What” he asked her confused “I trusted you not to get me pregnant in the first place and look you did” she yelled at him Jack just laughed at her he knew she wasn’t being serious this just made Martha more angrier than before “Get out Jack just go and see Abby” she told him Jack walked out and went to see Abby and she was screaming because lucus had gone and Tony was there with her “G’day mate any news” Tony asked his son “Nope except that Martha’s kicked me out and now Maddies in there with her” he told his dad “Ah hormones mate” Tony joked “And how’s my beautiful princess” Jack asked Abby “Im is fine daddy, is mummy had little baby yet” she asked excitedly “No, not yet darling” he answered her “Granddad said uncle luc will be back to stay with me tonight” she told Jack excitedly “Aren’t you a lucky girl then” Jack told her Martha’s contractions where getting worse and a lot less apart “Maddie were Jack” Martha said breathlessly and in clear pain she had refused an medication she had natural births with Amie and Abby and this baby was not going to be any different “You kicked him out remember” Maddie laughed “I want him and need him right now” she sobbed “I’ll go and get him” Maddie replied Meanwhile Jack was getting impatience Luc had just come and Abby was on his knee and refused to move “I think ill go and see if she wants me back in now” Jack said to his dad and Luc “No need” Maddie told him “What she had the baby” Jack asked worried he’d miss the birth “No not yet but she did admit that she needed you which is a big thing for a Holden especially Martha Holden” she joked Martha was leaning over the bed as another contraction was coming along when Jack ran along the corridor and into the room. “Jack” she said sighing in relief Jack just went over and wrapped his arms around her and she sobbed into his chest “Why does it hurt so much and why does this baby not want to come out” she cried “Maybe because you have created a home for him or her in the 9 months and he or she’s not ready to leave there yet” he told her “Or just maybe it knows im going to be a complete failure as a mother” she cried “No look at what you have done for the girls they love you to bits because your one of the best mums I no” he told her honestly 6 Hours later “11 hours Jack 11 bloody hours” Martha cried “Ano but just think baby, we will have beautiful son or daughter” He smiled at her She just smiled back lightly at him and then the doctor came in “So how are we doing” she asks Martha “Awful” Martha replied “Well lets take a look shall we, she how many centimetres your dilated” Dr Smith told her The doctor then began to examine her “All done” the doctor said “And” Martha asked her “Im so sorry Martha” she told her “your only 2 centimetres dilated” she explained “Your kidding me” Martha shouted “11 bloody hours and im only two centimetres” she cried “Sorry Mrs Holden looks like its going to be a long wait” she told her and left the room “Jack I need to see Abby and Amie” she told him “Okay ill go and get dad to bring them in” he told her “Thank you and Jack hurry back” she smiled at him “Mac they can’t come in” jack said walking back in the room “What why” she said starting to get really worked up! “Because the nurse said so, stress aint good” he told her “Jack how can seeing my girls cause me stress, I need to see Abby she needs me” she sobbed “Ano just calm down” he told her “Fine “she said and threw her head back on the pillow while Jack went for a drink. “Mummy” Abigail said as Martha walking in the room “Hello baby girl” Martha said to her as she tried to pick her up “Martha what on earth are you doing in here” Rachael said as she walked passed Abbys room “Im here to see my daughter, you guys wouldt let her come to me so I came to her and no im not going anywhere” she told her firmly “Oh yes you are young lady” A man told her “Oh my god Ric what are you doing here” She asked him excitedly “I have only just heard that Abby was ill” he told he sadly “Mummy” Amie shouted as Maddie brought her in to visit Abby “Hello there little one” Martha said as she gave her a kiss on her head “Im not the little on here he/she is” she said and pointed to Martha’s tummy Martha laughed as did Ric and then that’s when Amie noticed him “Hello there big one” he said to her “Uncle Ric” she squeeled happily Ric and Amie have had a close bond since they day she was born he was her godfather. “Oh my lord there you” Jack ran in to Abbys room and over to Martha “Well they would let me see her so I decided to come myself” she told him “And now she wont go back to her room” Rachael told him “Right that’s it in your own room right now” he told her in his you better do as you are told voice “Fine I’ll go” she gave in 10 hours later “Come on Martha you can do this” Dr Smith told her “No I can’t” she sobbed as she leant into Jack “Yes you can Martha” He told her “Yano what I would love for you to through this owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww” she screamed through clenched teeth as she pushed again “Nothings happening Martha you need to push harder” the doctor told her “Yano what, do you have any idea how much this hurts” she screamed “No I don’t have children” Dr Smith replied “Well then don’t tell me when to push and when not to push ok, oh and Jack don’t bother telling me it aint that bad cause it flippin well is” she sobbed “Ok calm down Martha” he soothed her “No I wont calm down I wouldt be in this situation if you could have controlled yourself” she told him “Well I didt see you stopping it at the time” he laughed at her “Did you just laugh at your pregnant wife in labour” she screamed “No not at all” He said trying to remain straight faced “Right Martha one more big push and it’s all over” the doctor told her Martha gave one final push “Owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww it hurts” she sobbed “You did Martha you have yourselves a beautiful baby boy” Dr Smith told them “See Mac I new you could it” Jack kissed her forehead as the doctor handed her the baby Meanwhile “Uncle Luc I don’t feel very well” Abigail told him “Ok then maybe you should lie down on the bed hey” he said to her “No I want to lie on your knee” she said sadly “Ok then babe you can” he told her Two hours later “He’s perfect Mac absolutely perfect” Jack said “Ano welcome to the family little Ellis Jack Holden” she smiled Well while all this was happening they heard Luc screaming for help “Abigail won’t wake up” he screamed as nurses raced towards abbys room Martha put Ellis in the cot and ran out the room screaming Abbys name. Four days later Martha and Ellis had been discharged from hospital two days ago and Abigail had still not woken up. Jack sat there with Ellis in the car seat next to him Martha crying into his shirt and Amie sitting on Martha lap crying into Martha’s top “Martha, Jack can I have a word” Rachael said quietly “Sure” they both replied and told Amie to look after Ellis and Abby they would be back in soon. “I think its time I started to prepare you for the worst there is a good possibility Abby wont wake up from this” she said softly “What no” jack said Martha ran away and out of the hospital as fast as she could just as Luc was walking in “Luc the kids are on Abbys room go and look after them till I come back” Jack shouted as he raced after Martha he knew where she was heading. He found Martha on the beach at the top of their cliff and went up to her and wrapped his arms behind her from behind and kissed her head softly whispering everything was going to be ok as she completely broke down for the 1st time in 4 days. “Why did this happen to us Jack” she asked him as she leant into him “I honestly don’t know babe I really don’t all I no is that of we lose Abby I don’t know what we will do” he told her honestly. Martha turned around and hugged him wondering if everything would be ok or would they lose their little girl! Back at the hospital Martha and Jack saw Rachael and asked if there was any change she just shook her head and asked them to come in to her office she has something to tell them.
