beckyboo Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 Whilst writing this chapter I decided that I needed to figure out the kid’s ages, so at the moment I think that Amie is about 7, Abby 5 and Ellis 1 and a half. Sorry it’s only short!! Chapter 27 “Abby you will get to see your little brother or sister. I will make sure of it.” Tasha hugged her. “Now lets go back and see Mummy and Daddy” Tash took her hand and lead her out. They walked back into the bathroom but they had all gone downstairs. “Abby, you want a drink?” Jack asked as she came down the stairs. They were celebrating, trying to make Abby’s last couple of months good, and trying to make then seem normal. The phone started to ring. “I’ll get it” Amie yelled. “Hello” She picked up the phone. “Amie who is it?” Martha asked “It’s for you Mum” Amie replied. “Well its usually going to be for me or your Dad but who?” Martha asked again taking the phone, not waiting for Amie to answer. “Hey, you want us to come down. Sure, we’ll be there soon and we will come on our own, don’t worry” Martha put down the phone. “Jack we’ve got to go down to the hospital. That was Rachel. She says she has something for us.” “Okay, Natasha will look after the kids whilst we’re gone” Jack replied “I will?” “Yes you will; we won’t be long. See you later guys” --- “Hey, you want to come into my office, I’ve got a little present for you” Rachel smiled, being followed into her office by Martha and Jack. They all sat down waiting for Rachel to give them whatever it was. She handed them an envelope, just a plain envelope. “Gee thanks Rach, this really means a lot to us, but an envelope?” Martha asked “Open it” Rachel replied “Ok, this isn’t strange at all” Jack said watching Martha open the envelope. “Rachel it’s a piece of paper” Martha said looking at the blank piece of paper in front of her. “Turn it over” Rachel replied. Martha scanned the page, her eyes landed on the writing in bold at the bottom. “Oh my god, you must be kidding me!” Martha exclaimed. “Tell me” Jack whinged. “Look for yourself” Martha stuck the paper in his face before running over to hug Rachel. “This is amazing now I’ve got to go home and tell everyone. Come on lazy bones, we’ve got to get home” Martha said to Jack. “I’ll call you Martha, and we can sort everything about it out” Rachel smiled. “Thanks Rach, so much.” Martha practically skipped out of the hospital. --- Jack and Martha both walked into the house grinning stupidly, they just couldn’t contain their excitement and they couldn’t wait to see the look on the girl’s faces when they told them. “Amie, Abby” Jack called out. “I’ll go and get Ellis” Martha went to look for him; he was probably in his cot having been put there by Natasha hoping he’d go to sleep. “How did I know you wouldn’t be asleep?” Martha asked picking him up. “Mama” He giggled. “Come on little guy, Mummy and Daddy have some things to say” “What is it Mum?” Amie asked. “Well Abby is getting a transplant, they have found a donor” Jack answered. “Really Daddy? I’m going to meet my little sister!” Abby ran up to Jack and hugged him. “What makes you so sure that it’s going to be a girl?” Jack asked. “Because if I say it’s a girl then it will be a girl” Abby smiled. By 5pm that day the whole of summer bay had found out one of their youngest residents where getting a shot in life... Or was she?????
