[email protected] Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 It bugs me that Antony got a fantastic song like Angels...come on, regardless of their singing, a certain part of you will like the song anyway if it's a great track to start with! If that makes any sense It seems unfair genre wise too...I mean Ric is OBVIOUSLY suited to rock. It's like making Marily Manson sing a Steps track and making fun when he sounds awful! And Anthony was rubbish singing Angels, very average. Mark would have been better singing Angels than him.
rootortoise Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 i agree JACZ2202, they didnt give mark very good songs tonight at all!! him singing tom jones and jon bon jovi have been my favourites so far and then they give him some cheesy 80's hit tonight to sing and dance too!! come on like that wasnt a fix that the other 2 got great songs to do!! mark singing angels wouldve proably been absolutely beautiful, rahter than anthony murdering it!! they know that mark is a rock n roll kinda guy, so why not give him more songs that suit his voice?? fix fix fix!!!!!

rootortoise Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 exactly, im sure last year there was a lot more opportunities towards the end, to choose their own songs!! i dont know what theywere worried about im sure he wouldnt have chosen a megadeth song or whitesnake LOL they shouldve let him sing jamie cullum which we didnt get to hear, the 2 lines ive heard him sing of that on the itv.com behind the scenes videos, was amazing!! or just more rocky type songs....they gave him cheesy 80's music or mcfly...i mean come on!! and he didnt even know who mcfly were!! its just not fair!!

I know, more consideration should have been made of the fact that him and Alan are foreigners...There are plenty of US songs which have been hits in both the UK and Oz that they could have picked instead. I agree, they were probably very harsh with the song choices, as Hayley and Anthony seemed to get the best songs..surprise surprise ! But Mark was brilliant anyway.

THANKS!! its so true though! its like when they kept telling tupele they wanted to see her sing with more oompf and really let go and then kept giving her like norah jones songs??HUH?? it wasnt her fault they kept giving her rubbish songs, and jane danson when they gave her pussy cat dolls? seriously who chooses these songs for them to sing????? probs some itv executive!! and of course they told mark off for not dancing enough when he didnt do the choreography!!! If mark had been given the right songs, he wouldve been in with more of a fair chance certainly!! We know mark can sing, the judges knew he could sing, mark knows he can sing, so why not give him the songs that suit him best and give him more of a fighting chance?!! then again i knew watching this show that it would be more geared towards itv "winning" so i guess i shouldnt be surprised in a way!!
