Neighbours-rox, why do you keep bringing up the fiction that Neighbours is better, we are supposed to be discussing Sally's stabbing, so SHUTUP!

I think I'd rather take the word of someone who lives in the UK than someone who has friends in the UK.

Well of coarse everyone on here is going to say home and aways really popular in the UK because their alll home and away fans. But thats not the reality of it.

Not everyone in the UK has channel five the channel home and away is screened on.

Neighbours usually is on the best channels, its BBC over in the UK and channel ten over in Australia.

Channel ten has better shows than channel seven and is more fun to watch.

Anyway, i havent heard any channels in the UK are fighting for home and away like their all fighting for neighbours that just prooves which is more popular.

I'm pretty sure that the only reason Neighbours gets high ratings in the uk is because CBBC, a popular childrens line up is on before it and people just leave the tv on BBC, it doesn't mean they actually watch the silly show.

I totally agree, its watched just after the cartoons on the BBC, so obiviously the kids are still tuned in...

anyway, neighboursrox why are you actually here for?

Shouldn't you be on another forum???

You really should ask your "friends in the UK" where exactly they get their information......

"Home and Away is an Australian weeknightly half-hour television soap opera produced in Sydney by the Seven Network since January 1988. It is broadcast on the Seven Network and its affiliates in Australia and is exported to many countries, most notably the United Kingdom, where it briefly became the subject of a bidding war between ITV and Five which Five won. The show has more overall viewers in the larger UK market than it has in its home market, but a higher proportion of viewers in Australia, due to Australia's smaller population. The shift in the UK from ITV to Five damaged its ratings; contract obligations kept it off air in the UK for a year and the smaller audience share five has is believed to contribute to the show achieving ratings significantly lower than those it enjoyed on ITV. Its UK ratings are significantly lower than those of Neighbours on BBC One, both shows are shown twice every weekday. Five funds more than half of the production costs, and it is officially Five's second highest rated show."

From 2000-2001 - Copied from a website but is true....

If we take the last episode that ITV showed and the first episode that Five showed (which granted had huge advertisement), there was a 2 million lost from about 5.5 to 3.5, but within three weeks, excluding Sally's wedding (?), the viewing figures on five had settled at something around 2.5 million, drifting slowly towards 2 over time.

Lol home and away is boring :P

If it's so boring, then why are you here?

Anyway, I'm gutted that Sally is leaving. Totally gutted. This is like killing off Chloe, one of my favourite characters.... :(

But I'm sure I'll get over it. :P

No. She's just said that she is planning to leave sooner rather than later, and has decided when she'll be going, but it won't be just yet. Seven are milking it for all it's worth so that people will think she's going to die.
