Elise Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Mar, you are incredibly lucky to have a very supportive boyfriend! (unlike my ex) Please take care of yourself, and know that we are all looking out for you. I know that times are tough at the moment, but I really hope that you and Terje will get through this. You are very gutsy for coming out and saying this, it is something that we all admire you for, it is a very hard thing to do.
katie343 Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 yep i talked to Emma Merc, I hope your feeling better my prayers are with you hun i find this Delta song helps me when i'm feeling down Are you swimming upstream in oceans of blue? Do you feel like your sinking? Are you sick of the rain after all you?ve been through? Well I know what you?re thinking When you can?t take it You can make it Sometime soon I know you?ll see ?Cause when your in you?re darkest hour And all of the light just fades away When you?re like a single flower whose colours have turned to shades of grey Well hang on and be strong Where taking each step one day at a time You can?t loose your spirit Let live and let live forget and forgive It?s all how you see it And just remember keep it together Don?t you know you?re never alone? ?Cause when you?re in your darkest hour And all of the light just fades away When you?re like a single flower whose colours have turned to shades of grey Well hang on, and be strong No you?re not defeated And soon you?ll be smiling once again Then you won?t have to feel it Let it go with the wind Time passes us by And know that you?re aloud to cry ?Cause when you?re in your darkest hour And all of the light just fades away When you?re like a single flower whose colours have turned to shades of grey Well hang on and be strong you'll get through this hun*hugs*
MarMar Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 More things making me sad at the moment: We had to take our oldest cat, Molly, to the vet today. She was in a fight about a month ago, and came home with a chewed up ear and an eye which looked like it had some blood on it, on the inside. She was feeling a lot better a couple of days later, so we didn't think much of it, and the ear healed up nicely. Noticed that her other eye was bloody this weekend, and it was not getting any better. She didn't eat much, didn't want to be moved or touched for a day or two, but was slowly getting back to her old self, only.. she was walking into chairs etc.... We took her to the vet 1 1/2 hour ago, and she said Molly couldn't see anything anymore. She also found something which may be tumours - on her tummy, probably udder tumours, which occurs in cats who's been on birth control pills for a long time. We got her sterilized, but she was on them for too long. The vet said we could take her home with us, and keep her indoors, but both me and my mom knew she wouldn't like that. She's always been the sort of cat which comes and goes when it pleases her. Some summers she disappeared for weeks at a time, and then suddenly came back home, appearing just like she had so many times before. We decided it was better to let her be put to sleep instead. We got her and her sister Milly from The Norwegian RSPCA when I was 5 years old, so I can't remember a life when she wasn't here. Milly disappeared after 3 years. We never found her. I remember when Molly got sterilized. She was so out of if when we got her home. She was lying on the couch with a hot water bottle and blankets around her. When she was starting to come to, she, of course, didn't want to be tucked up on the couch any more, so she attempted to jump down. And down she went. So, I'm a little sad today. Or, really sad to tell the truth. She got to be 15 years old. The poster at the vet's said it equals 75 human years. The vet said she was in great health except for the eyes and the tumours. She had bery good fur, shiny and soft.
Penie Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I have six cats and if any of them would die i would be crying for days. It is very sad it is hard seeing something so close die away.
katya Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Merc, those pictures are lovely. Usually, the only cats I tend to like or find cute are tigers or kittens, but Molly may be an exception.
Elise Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 That is so sad losing a cat! I know how you feel, we had a cat named Woosie (so called as she was scared of everything), she came up to me hungry and pregnant, and after begging dad to keep her, we did for 10 years. We went away for two weeks, she got into a cat fight and deliberately ignored us, as she was upset we left her. She just got sicker and sicker, her fur was falling out, she was constantly asleep, and she would drool (which cats do not do). So we took her to the vet and they told us she was in the advanced stages of Feline AIDS, she contracted it from the cat fight. We had two choices, rip out her teeth to keep her living, or to put her down. We put her down, except we didn't bury her at my house, me and my Dad were too distraught, so she was buried in the garden of the vet's place. I cried for weeks, she was my beautiful cat, and since we had her for 10 years, we grew very attached to her. So I know how you feel honey, it hurts real bad. My condolences go out to you.
MarMar Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 Thank you, Elise. We had the option of getting her cremated so that we could keep her in an urn, but we chose not to. It was really weird coming homw without her. I am so used to her following me around. She became more social than ever during her last two-three years. She used to lie in my bed "all day long", often during the night as well, as I spend most of my time in the bedroom, as yuo probably know, and even if I was just going to the toilet or checking on the server, she would follow me and rub up against my legs. It's so weird. I hate this feeling.
Emmadolly Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 When i lost my cat and dog, it took me ages to get over it.
Emmadolly Posted June 8, 2006 Report Posted June 8, 2006 I have three cats, and they mean the world to me and the kids. They are Sally, Simba and William, i had them from the PDSA.
