victim-ofthenight Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 Okay, so this isn't strictly about iPods, but it seems to be the best place to ask... Does anyone know if it's possible to convert music files (e.g. .mp4 and .wma) to .mp3? Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated. Hey jess have a look through the list in this link of free software for this and other related things see if anything suits your needs http://www.mp3-converter.com/mp3_converter_freeware.htm Rick
Marieh Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 Another question: Why is it that some of the songs have a higher volume then others? This dosen't happen in iTunes but it's very freaky when you allrady have the volume high
Jess Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 ^^ I don't know, Marie, but I've noticed that, too, and thought that it was just me.
~Dom~ Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 I think it is to do with how loud the songs actually are recorded at. Some of the songs on my Ipod are louder than others.
victim-ofthenight Posted May 10, 2007 Report Posted May 10, 2007 the volume depends on a few factors 1. whether the file in question was wma or mp3 2. whether when ripped or downloaded "volume levelling" was used 3. if the songs have the same bit rate for example a 32 bit song will sound like a muffled chewed up cassette with low volume or disortion wheras a 320 bit one will sound like a chrisp new cd to sort this out put all songs back on after using the volume level option on the media player
Nathan Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 Try right-clicking on the song in the iTunes library and then click on 'Options'. Then adjust the volume there. That always works for me
~Dom~ Posted May 11, 2007 Report Posted May 11, 2007 Aww. What happened to Cal's poor Ipod When mine broke it had a picture of a dead Ipod come up on the screen
