The way I think of past and present tense is this. Past tense is like you're telling a story to someone - "This is what happened last week..." Present tense is like you're describing what you're seeing AS it happens - "This is what's happening right now."

There's nothing wrong with writing in the present tense, it's just that most people write in the past. I think it's because past tense gives you time to reflect on a situation, to take in the thoughts and feelings of the characters. Present tense is more about action - it's more like the reader is experiencing their own thoughts and feelings as a reacting to the scene that's being set. You can create a lot of tension with that. I guess it all depends on what you're going for.

Now what's this I hear about a Buffy/H&A crossover!? I was planning to write a fic on that very thing some day, but I want to get all my other fics out of the way first.. Yeah, there's about 6 of them, and three of them are reeeally long :P

Can you imagine Charlie as a vampire :o?? Charlie with no soul!! I don't think I can, he's all about soul :o. But if his evil side were to take over completely... oooh... wouldn't want to be Rachel...

I'm imagining Charlie being a lot like Spike: "I'm gonna find Kim, tie him up, and torture him until he likes me again." :P

I now would like to be Kim. :)
