"Jack." Zoe called. "Jack wait." She shouted going after Jack, who wasn't listening.

Jack on the other hand had so many thoughts rushing around in his head he didn't know what to do. "What am I doing?" He asked himself. "I had the chance to tell Zoe and what do I do? I make her think that she's the bad guy in all this." He shouted at himself.

"Jack, I'm sorry." Zoe told him as she caught up to him.

Jack stopped and turned to he was facing her. "No, Zoe I'm sorry. The thing is I don't think this is working out. Its not well...how it used to be." He told her hoping she'd understand.

"What?" She asked hoping that she heard wrong. "Are you...breaking up with me?"

"I'm sorry, I just think it would be best if we were on a break." He told her gently.

"Jack, no. We could make this work. Please. I promise I won't ever doubt you again." She begged.

"Zoe, you know its not you. Its just things arn't working out for us. I mean come on do you honestly believe that every things been fine with us? Our relationship is..." He said as he took a deep breath.

"Is what?" She asked quietly.

"Dead." He told her.

"So what now?" Zoe asked not wanting to know the answer.

"Well I think it would be best if we had some space. I think it would be best if I left town for a while. I'll ask to get transfered for a while see how things go. One day your going to find someone and your relationship will feel right. Ours well...you know." He told her.

"Yeah. I guess your right. Things havn't been the same since the plane crash. Thanks for being honest with me."

"Honest." Jack thought. "Yeah right. Thats me. Honest."

"No problem. So we can still be friends?" Jack asked.

"Of course." She said as she gave him a hug.

"Coming." Martha said as she out on her night gown. It was 11-30 pm. "Who's coming at this time of night." She thought to her self.

"Jack?" She said softly. "What are you doing here?" She asked.

"Me and Zoe. We're over." He told her as she let him in.

"Really? I didn't think you were going to tell her tonight." Martha admitted.

"Yeah, well." He said. "Sorry you wern't asleep were you?" He asked.

"Don't worry." She smiled. "So Zoe. She knows about us?" Martha asked.

"Well not exactly." Jack admitted.

"What do you mean?" Martha asked raising her eyebrow.

"Well." Jack said as he told her the story.

"Wow." Was all that Martha could say.

"Yeah. I think it may be a good idea if we stayed here for a while. Just for a couple fo weeks." He told her.

"Sure." Martha told him.

It had been 3 weeks and Martha and Jack were now back in the bay. They were now discussing on how they were going to tell the Bay on thier relationship. Sure Jack had broken up with Zoe but that doesn't change a thing. What about when people ask about how they met?

"Are you ready to do this?" Jack asked Martha as they stood outside Noah's.

Martha nodded. "Lets do this." Martha took a deep breath before they both entered.

"Hey guys what can I.." Beth Began but then stopped to see. "Are you two?" She asked.

Martha nodded. "Yeah." She said shyly.

"Well." She said. "Congratulations."

"Thanks." Martha said. Martha and Jack both felt awkward due to the silence.

"Um, can we have two beers please?" Jack asked breaking the silence.

"Sure. I'll bring it over." She told them.

As they both sat down Martha stopped when she saw who entered into Noah's.

"Its ok." Jack whispered. "Heres our chance." He squeezed her hand.

"Hi." Zoe said coming up towards them. "Wait." She said as she saw their hands together. "Are you two together?"

"Yeah." Jack said. "I think we might need to talk." he told her.

"I thought we were on a break not split up full stop." Zoe cried as she ran out the surf club tears running down her face.

"I'll go. Maybe I can explain." Jack told Martha as he stood up. Martha nodded.

Zoe looked up. "What do you want Jack?" She asked. "Don't you think you've hurt me enough?" She asked.

"I didn't mean to hurt you. Believe me." He told her. "Let me just explain." He begged.

"Fine."

"Well. When we had the plane crash, me and Martha were the only one's to survive. We had to look after each other. You know?" Zoe nodded. "Well hope was failing and well we...kissed. I'm sorry." He appologised.

"Carry on."

"Ok. Well when you found us, I was so happy. But at the same time I knew I was getting feelings for Martha. She broke up with Chris. Thats when I was going to break up with you. But I never could."

"So you made me feel bad for doubting you when Fraser was right?" She shouted. "How the hell could you?" She cried.

"Zoe I'm sorry." He said. "The last thing I wanted to do was to hurt you." He told her.

"Well you did." She said. "And I thought when you came back we could sort things out. But all this time. All thins time you were having an affair with Martha. And I even had some news for you." She told him.

"You did?" Jack asked.

"Yes, Jack I did. But it doesn't matter becuase I don't want you to have any thing to do with it any more." She cried as she walked away.
