Skykat Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 I was just about to post that Chris. If there were no post counts there would be no competition, people wouldn't feel excluded or unimportant and hopefully the quality of posting would increase because people wouldn't be bothered just posting for the sake of it. I used to be a fan of post counts but now I just want rid, I think they cause more problems than they're worth.
Frankie Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 I agree...I think the post count is divisive....and if it does not say posts 1...then no one will know its your first post...last year there were a number of people who openly stated they were posting to up thier post count.....so yeah...scrap the post count...although you have todo a speial tribute to Mar and Ryan before you did. I think we need to have more people updating the main site....things like coming soon etc ...as when the people who do it at the moment are busy or are away it does not get done...we need a back up task force....
Traceve Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Mods be mods and members be members would be a great start! Some members seem to think they are mods... just the "this doesnt belong here or you have requested to many eps" That is a mods job not a members. I saw last year a member get told off for moderating, yet it does continue. But then again I guess that is the least of the boards worries as it doesnt really effect anyone majorily. Also I understand that mods have lifes outside of the forum. I think they cause more problems than they're worth. Post counts, oh please not this disscussion again! I think post counts are fine, as long as no-one runs a muck (so to speak) posting rubbish to up their count. Its just a number although it might save a lot of hassles getting rid of them. I know I had a few other things to bring up but I cant remember.. I shall post here later. Sorry if there are any spelling errors..
~Charlotte~ Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 I think people can live with the post counts, as long as people don't start posting new threads saying that the post counts should be stopped. However, i do think that this forum should start fresh and new as BTTB has more members and we don't have to orry about catching up with anything. As in nothing on the forum when this forum is updated, except rules and admin posts to inform people of a few things. I think this would be a very good idea... what do other poeple think about it?
Si-Co Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 The Removal of the majority of games in the games room, taking away some of the piffle that fills it at the moment. I agree there, Ryan.. but what do we replace them with? I've asked members what type of games they would like to see already, in this thread. So far, there hasn't been any replies.
Skykat Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Frankie I already said to Dan that if he wanted my help on anything to do with the main site he could just ask. Let me know if you need me to do anything. Post counts, oh please not this disscussion again! I think post counts are fine, as long as no-one runs a muck (so to speak) posting rubbish to up their count. Its just a number although it might save a lot of hassles getting rid of them. I'd agree with that but the problem is that I think people are posting rubbish to boost their post count. I know people like them, I like knowing how many posts I've made but I don't think they're very healthy for the boards because of the reasons previously stated.
Cerise Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Mods be mods and members be members would be a great start! Also I understand that mods have lifes outside of the forum. I think 'Member Moderating' could be solved by new Staff Members, or in the case of the Requesting Episode's stuff maybe a new Group could be made (For Members that have Moderating Rights in the Creativity/Multimedia Section of the Forum)
MarMar Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Or it could simply be solved by members not thinking they are moderators.
Cerise Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 And how could you change those Members Minds about them being 'Moderators'? PM 7600 Members with a Message saying Attention, Please dont Moderate as your not a Moderator?
