AT THE CHURCH

Ric is standing at the front in his tux, looking dashing.

The Pachelbel Canon starts playing. Ric turns around to face the door and the guests all stand up.

Sally and Peter walk down the aisle.

Followed by Cassie and Lucas.

Then Tasha and Robbie.

Finally, Matilda enters. Ric smiles when he sees her, being brought in by Tony. Tony and Matilda slowly walk towards Ric. A few steps before they reach him, they stop and Tony lifts the veil.

TONY:

So you sure about this then?

MATILDA:

Looks at Ric and smiles.

I'm sure.

TONY:

Then I couldn't be happier for you.

Ric walks down and takes Matilda's hand. Tony nods at him and Ric and Matilda walk forward to where the priest is standing. The guests all sit down.

PRIEST:

Who gives this woman to this man?

TONY:

Smiles proudly.

I do.

The priest nods.

PRIEST:

We are gathered her today to join Eric Dalby and Matilda Harriet Jane Hunter in Holy Matrimony...

WELCOME TO SUMMER BAY SIGN.

Someone gets out of a car, walks to the sign and kicks it. A hand reaches into a pocket where it takes out two photos - one of Matilda and one of Sally.

DIESEL looks at the sign and laughs.

AT THE CHURCH:

RIC:

Matilda... I will never forget the little pest you were when you first came to the Bay... You were a snobby little girl and I couldn't stand you. But then you grew up and became my friend. My best friend. And it took me a while to realize how much I love you...

We've been through so much together, Mattie... And I know we're young and that a lot of people here have their doubts. But I know in my heart that our marriage will be strong and solid. Because I love you more than I though someone could love someone else.

You are the best thing that ever happened to me, Matilda and I swear I will take care of you and I will love you. Forever and a day.

MATILDA;

Ric... I can't even remember what my life was like before I met you. And I don't want to. You're my rock. You're my everything. The thought of losing you... it's too much to bear and I know that I never want that to happen. I love you with all my heart, Ric Dalby and being your wife will make me the happiest person in the world.

I love the way you breathe, smile and laugh.

But most of all I love the way you love me. Without doubt and without hesitation. I know that nothing will ever come between us. Because we won't let it.

FLETCHER HOUSE

Diesel enters. He looks around and picks up one of the wedding invitations lying on the kitchen counter. He frowns.

AT THE CHURCH:

PRIEST:

I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.

RIC:

Mrs Dalby.

MATILDA:

Mr Dalby.

They kiss.

RECEPTION - AT SOME BEAUTIFUL PLACE.

The guests are sitting down. Sally and Peter enters, followed by Cassie and Lucas and then Tash and Robbie. Alf stands up and walks to the microphone. Sally walks to stand next to him. From where he is sitting next to Tony, Jack can't keep his eyes off her.

ALF:

And now... Mr and Mrs Ric and Matilda Dalby!

Everybody applauds as Ric and Matilda walk in, holding hands. Alf motions to Sally and she takes a stand in front of the microphone.

SALLY:

I'll make this short, I promise! Ric, when you said we all had our doubts... but when people see the two of you together, it's impossible to doubt in the truth and strenght of your love. You belong together and I know that you will make this marriage work. You both look so beautiful today and I wish you all the happiness in the world. You will have your ups and downs. You will have arguments and problems. But as long as you remember how much you love each other, you will get through it.

She holds up her glass.

To Ric and Matilda!

GUESTS:

Ric and Matilda!

SALLY:

And you can now... open the dance floor!

I'll be by Edwin McCain starts playing. Ric takes Matilda's hand and leads her to the dance floor. Sally walks down and sits next to Peter.

PETER:

May I have this dance?

SALLY:

I wouldn't dream of saying no.

He leads her onto the dance floor. Jack looks at them and rolls his eyes.

Lucas smiles at Belle.

LUCAS:

Dance?

BELLE:

Of course.

They go onto the dance floor, followed by Rocco and Cassie, Robbie and Tasha and Tony and Emma.

Martha looks at Jack.

MARTHA:

Want to dance?

JACK:

Yeah, why not.

They smile and start dancing slowly.

RIC:

I don't think I've ever loved you more than I love you right now.

MATILDA:

I need to pinch myself. This feels like a dream. I can't believe I'm your wife.

RIC:

Say that again.

MATILDA:

This feels like a dream?

RIC:

No... the I'm your wife part.

MATILDA:

Laughs.

I love you Ric Dalby.

RIC:

And I love you, Matilda Dalby.

Sally looks at Ric and Matilda over Peter's shoulder.

SALLY:

They look so happy.

PETER:

They do. Sal...

SALLY:

Hmm?

PETER:

I'm sorry about going on about you always visiting Jack. I've thought about it and... that's who you are. You are that amazing, caring person that I fell in love with and I would never want to change that. I was just... unreasonably jealous.

SALLY:

I understand. But there is no need to be jealous. Because I love you, Peter Baker.

She kisses him.

SALLY:

And I'll love you forever.

Peter holds her closer.

PETER:

This day couldn't be more perfect.

FLETCHER HOUSE

Diesel walks to where the photos are standing on the mantelpiece. He picks up a photo of Peter and Sally, looks at it and throws it down on the floor. Then he goes to the kitchen where he starts throwing around cutlery and plates.

Diesel is back He means trouble!
