Parkers... suck.

And bravo to the writers. "What name should we give to the guy Steve pissed off in jail? I know! Nick! That name isn't being used in direct association with Steve already!" >.<

Nicola: I'm prepared to extend the chance I had given her - she's not totally without depth.

As for the bushfire - kind of lacking in tension most of the time, but better than the 2000 one, where Joe was trapped in a taxi with a woman in labour. Pretty far behind the Lassiters fire in 2004 though.

I was impressed by the fire and the truck and the helicopter. I assume they didn't start a bush fire in order to get great shots but it almost looks like they did lol. So yeah, impressed.

Why don't they let Nicola AND Steve die?? I know I shouldn't have found it funny when Marco couldn't open the door, but I was imaging the other guys being like "Oh, sorry Marco, the door's stuck.. No, no it won't open... No, we tried. Why don't you just go off to die somewhere?" And then when the screaming and bashing from outside stops... "Finally! I thought he was actually going to get it open! Good thing we had all our weight behind it to keep him out."

I'm aware that's not as funny as I want it to be, but... I'm sick... *cough*....

I thought that was a brilliant episode :D I love how seamlessly the stock footage flowed with the footage the actual Neighbours crew filmed, like the Kangaroos being scared off by the sound of the fire and the truck driving past the fire and then appearing by.........was it Steph? Even though I'm sure it wasn't big budget, they sure did make it look like it. I wish H&A would use stock footage in its disasters again, nowadays they look so studio, where was the sky shots of lightning bolts during the cyclone!? It would have been much more effective, the mudslide looked spectacular because they kept cutting to real footage of floods bursting the banks, washed up ships and powerlines exploding and good on Neighbours for doing this and making such a real drama from it.

I didn't particularly like the extremely CGI looking fire in the Paul finding Kirsten scene, I don't see why it couldn't have been real fire, since it was so tiny, and the scene in the cabin when the fire hit it looked very studio lightsy too, but still, atleast the had the guts to try alot of things to make it real, alot worked, some didn't but it still blows any H&A disaster in both spectacle and writing, from the past six years out of the water!

I was impressed with it all - the show looks so slick these days, the past few episodes were epic. I didn't even notice CGI fire, so they did a good job in that regard too.

I thought it was done realistically, everyone was quite calm mostly and then just panicked.

All the hospital scenes today were brill, and I enjoyed the Todie/Steph scenes. Marco being told he is going to die, was nicely portrayed!

There is nothing wrong with Carmella or the actress who plays her- let me just point that out before I get to my next bit- but HOW ON THE EARTH has she been nominated for the Gold Logie 2 years in a row now? That's insane! I found the entire thing so incredibly... emotionless? Perhaps I'm just a harsh critic. I really liked last night's though- well done. I loved Bridget and Declan too.
